See I pretty immediately attached myself to Dean. Sam I've always had an issue with. he's whiny and when he's not whiny he's being psychotic

Perhaps so. I usually like all characters though. I'm so not picky when it comes to shows.

I am so picky when it comes to characters it's not even funny.

eh. there are usually plenty of characters to like and if i don't like the characters i don't have to watch the series.

No not really.
Not all people you meet are likeable, so why should all characters be?

And I have two different scales for characters: liking vs. being interesting.
Liking a character means I wouldn't mind meeting them in real life, being friends with them, or I understand them on some level. I generally want to protect these characters or give them a hug.
Being interesting is about what the character contributes to the story and the plot based more on the type of character they are.

So like Sam, I don't like. But he's interesting, which is better than being in both of the categories which I do have some of those characters though I don't know if I do for Supernatural. Most don't stick around long enough to earn both ratings.

I dunno. If I find them interesting, I like them. Honestly if they're not a terrible characters, I like them.

Though with most shows it's not as clearly define. Like Sam's really the only character I've got a clear definition on for this show.

Teen Wolf however? Is a hayday. I have a very clear definition for every character.

I'm a writer and I don't understand it.

Well I guess the easiest way to explain it is through a villain. I just kinda expand it out through all characters.

you generally don't like villains or aren't supposed to but you can find them interesting as a villain and as a character.

or like a character who fulfills a tropre to a 't' like say the hero or whatever. you generally like those characters, but they really aren't that interesting b/c you know exactly what to expect from them.

I dunno. I love villains. I mean, I don't want to meet them, but I still think I love The Reaper and not really in a different way that I love Reid from Criminal Minds. It's either straight forward like or dislike.

But it's not though and why don't people get this. And no one watches or reads the show I have clear distinctions on and it's hard to explain without examples.

Like seriously. Allision and Scott, both unlikeable and uninteresting
Peter unlikeable (heading towards likeable) but interesting Jackson and Ms. Morrell also fits in this category
Lydia, Derek, Deaton and Stiles likeable and highly interesting
Isaac extremely likeable, but most likely ultimately uninteresting (unless they change something up with his character. he's kinda exactly what you expect even though he's a puppy).
And that's not all the characters

I mean yes, I will say they are usually pretty mutually inclusive. But not always. And there's generally at least once character that I can point out and be like yeah. they're this one way and not the other
