hmm, from the list of the front page?

Greed 01-18-2013 12:06 PM

Mhm. I'm debating whether or not I want to save up more for a Midas Touch or Dove Wings [heart]... Or just buy my Bunny Hat and save up again. ;3

ClockReject 01-18-2013 04:54 PM

[gonk]
Clock passed out, sorry.
that is a hard decision.

Oooh. It's like velvet and satin.. Or something. Looks so nice.. *rubs face against it*

Eee. There are pandas everywhere. <3 :')

It's hard to get into Mene without talking to people.. I know I wouldn't check up on here as often if there were no people in our thread. xD You so do not strike me as being shy, by the way. :P

dove wings would look good on you, hehe~

'allo Clock :3

Greed 01-19-2013 10:30 AM

Haha, *blushes at Risque* you look quite nice today. I'm enjoying the moon groping your breasts... *winky* And thank you, I take that as a compliment. I'm learning to deal with shyness. [XD] Also I'm heading back to Australia tomorrow - can't decide if I can't wait, or if I'll be sad. I feel a little bit homesick, but the impending heat makes me nervous. Heat waves are no fun!! D<

D'aw Clock.

Risque 01-19-2013 10:43 AM

I do not mean to imply anything too crazy! Now that I've read your post though, and taken another look at Mr. Moon Guy, I do notice that he has a rather satisfied look to his face, and I care not to know why. [oops] thank you though, I an glad that someone appreciates my avi.

I am guessing that you're more shy irl? I deal with shy customers and children when I am serving food at work, and I gotta say that there are times when I'm just thinking, "Oh gawb stop being so freaking shy and speak up if you actually want to get some food served to ya!" D:< I trust that you are not that shy though, cause then it would suck to get on my bad side. xD

I feel that way too at the end of a long trip. It's such a bittersweet feeling to return home. </3
Haha, heat waves are indeed no fun.. gotta stay cool. [cool]
Gosh, it feels so weird to talk to people across the globe. It's seriously like 0 degrees Celsius where I am right now cause it's the dead of winter.

Greed 01-19-2013 03:29 PM

Hehe, he has that... 'afterglow' *giggles* And of course, I love appreciating people's creativity. Do you have a thread in the avatar runway forum? You could stash them there.

I'm extremely shy with new people. It's not bad dealing with servers and stuff though. I'm fine then for some reason. I'm getting better though, I'm usually just dying of embarrassment on the inside while I pretend to be okay. My cheeks tend flush though which is a give-a-way. Hehe.

And I know. Definitely bittersweet for me right now...

Risque 01-19-2013 09:42 PM

Haha, yeah.. they say that everyone's looking their best after their first, "you know what." [lol]
I never thought about making a thread.. I like most of the avatars I make but they are pretty hit or miss with other people here it seems. I've won admin's pick once which was really cool. *_*

I'm glad you think you're getting better at it! Lots of other people are nervous around new people too, and I usually don't get along too well with non-shy types anyways. Maybe you are the same?

You are back in Aus now? o:

---------- Post added 01-19-2013 at 05:38 PM ----------

Whoa, I never realized it until now.. but I guess that on my desktop computer I don't have the Century gothic font installed. Now that I am viewing our thread from my netbook I can see the fonts! *_* Wut the heck

Greed 01-20-2013 07:08 AM

I think it'd be cool - you know, to see how your Mene style has changed over the course of the years. :L I don't really change my avatar (ever, really) only just slight variations, so it's never been something I'd want to spend time working on... But you have so many different outfits!! Ooh, which outfit was this? Do you have a picture saved?...

Possibly. When there's someone taking charge I tend to just shrink into the shadows. There have been times where i've assumed leadership positions though.. All I can say is that I'm just glad no one was too close to me to hear my heart race and get stuck in my throat. [XD]

I'm not back in Aus yet.. I fly tonight! Leaving to the airport at 7 and boarding at 11pm. It's going to be fun. Can't wait to attempt watching 5 movies straight again. Honestly it's so exhausting though. It's like staying up for more than 24hrs (i got up at 11) and not being able to sleep the night because I NEED to watch them movies. D<

*giggles* Do you like the font? I think it's cute. What font was it displaying as on your desktop? .. Although I thought century gothic was a default on Windows.

http://i702.photobucket.com/albums/w...ook/Risque.jpg

I drew you with my touchpad. //blush// ... Well. I wouldn't say draw. More like tried to draw. [XD]

Risque 01-20-2013 10:33 AM

You're right.. it would be a pretty nice idea although one of the main things keeping me from wanting to make a thread is the fact that I change my avatar like once every three days, and I don't particularly like half of them compared to my favorites. xD sometimes I just wanna show my appreciation for certain cutesy items that I don't see worn often, and lemme tell you that some of those items are freakin' impossible to build an outfit around. D:<
Also, I founds it in the archive.
http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y17...isque15609.png

Poor you~ I bet you had a fun time with alllll those people paying attention to you and watching your every move. [gonk]
And that is why sinking into the shadows is always the best option, no prying eyes to deal with. [ninja]

Ah, I see. International flights are the coolest. I miss all the different movies and multiple meals and on-flight duty free shopping. When you fly you better get your movie fix for the both of us! [illgetu]
I do hope you don't get too jet lagged by the end of your ordeal. *nod* I can't imagine it being good for your sleep cycle to watch all those movies and stay up while also changing time zones. [lol]

I used Century Gothic a lot when I was younger and tried to squeeze it into most of my high school projects so I was pretty surprised when I didn't notice that it was missing from the font pack on my computer. I think it comes only if you have Microsoft Office installed, which I didn't. D:

Wow~! That's me! [love] You did really good and for it being on a touchpad too. o_o Thanks~ *snuggie*

Greed 01-20-2013 10:48 AM

Maybe just make an archive for your biggest and bestest ever? And aww, that is adorable. I larve it. Dayum. [heart]!

I definitely did. It's like.. I don't feel like I'm getting judged... At all. *hides*

Oh baby, i'll get my movie fix alright. *winky* I worked out I could basically fit 5 movies back-to-back in 9 hours, which is why I always ins is o sleeping. D< However we only get fed twice. They use to have instant noodlies and delicious haagen dazs icecream. But they are around no longer. :( Sleep is of no consequence.. I don't start school until March. *proceeds to snooze around at 12* Woohoo!

Yep, I did too. It was between century gothic and arial... *hmm* I've had a stoic aversion to comic sans for almost all my life though. *shudders at the thought of the font* When things are written in comic sans, I have to copy paste it into a text editor, so I can read it without wanting to cry. Help for Comic Sans Lovers [XD]

Aww thank you. <3

Risque 01-20-2013 11:00 AM

That would depend on what is exactly biggest and bestest. Maybe have them all be hand picked by Greed so there is quality assurance? [cool]

Sometimes I feel kinda anxious at work, but thankfully working food service means all the people just come and go. But for all the people whose orders I messed up.. ugh. Tip for you, working behind a cubicle ain't all that bad if you're shy! XD

9 hours could also mean 18 episodes of half hour television OMG~! No way you could pass up such precious media viewing time.. no way.
Didn't they have like these little teeny weeny mini haagen daz containers? I remember hearing something along the lines of that.
That reminds me of this.. which I REALLY FREAKING WANT TO TRY: coffee . foodies » Häagen-Dazs Ice Cream Mooncakes #Asia #Mid-Autumn Moon Festival

W00t for staying up late! It's currently 3:10 AM but I might just hit the sack soon cause waking up past 12 is a big no-no in terms of productivity.
LOLOL that website is awesome! I gotta link this to every middle aged person near a computer ASAP. If only that website was around when Geocities was a big thing; all those awful looking pages with their side scrolling comic sans [gonk]

Greed 01-21-2013 02:48 AM

Of course *nods eagerly* Your plan will be foolproof with my assurance. :P

Curious, what happens to messed up orders? I recently went to a cafe with my grandma and she had ordered an ice mocha. The lady went away, and came back with a hot one... And we were like... Huh? Apparently they only made hot mocha... It was weird. But my grandma managed to get a custom ice mocha in the end. :3

Yes! They were like the size of a golfball or so... And mmmmm. Delicious *licks lips*. You could also get seconds, those were the days.. [XD] OMG those look delicious! Shame I always avoid mooncake.. I've never liked it, and the cold ones with squishy outsides and icy cold insides are gross. (best description ever *bows*)

Haha productivity.... *hits the bed* I'm so tired, just got off the plane and all I want to do is rest. D;

I KNOW RIGHT. *pokes website* I would love to link it to all the kindergarten, english teachers and what not. They are serious offenders. D<

Risque 01-21-2013 07:56 AM

I am glad to have you around. :3 Love your avi by the way. It's really starting to come together. <3 I wish they had all the items you're wearing in teal! XD

It really depends on the type of food that got messed up. At the boba place I used to work at we would often end up drinking the orders that we messed up but at the place I work at now we don't have the free time or the desire to eat every order we mess up. I think that eating from work every day I'm there kinda makes me tired of the food too so wasted orders are no big deal.
Hot mochas could be easily made into ice mochas anyways. I'm glad your grandma got her coffee. Kinda weird to ask for specifically for iced and to get hot. <_<

Aaaah [drool] It's like 0 degrees outside and you are still making me crave some cookies and creme. As for seconds, I WOULD LIKE FOURTHS PLS. *grabby*
Some of the filling in certain mooncakes is nasty imo, like the salty egg. But with ice cream mooncakes at least you know exactly what you are getting, and I think that is a lot of the appeal.

Have a good rest! And don't neglect your exercise. Long flights can cause blood clots if you stay still for the whole durations. D8

We are getting better about the comic sans thing, or I just grew up. I remember the first typed paper I ever wrote was in some stupid cursive font. LOL

Greed 01-21-2013 11:08 AM

Aww thanks. :) I got the Head wings and Ankle wings on the same day, I was so stoked I had to have them both. [XD] Oh? Do they come in teal? ;O You should make a suggestion!

It was quite weird. And ahh okay. But at first it would be so wonderful... It'd be like, let me stuff up an order so I can get a snack. :3 =unemployable=. Lol.

Truee. Have you ever tried the ones with like yellow bean, read bean, sesame innards? They scare me..! I always bite into it, thinking it's ice-cream, so I take the biggest bite possible - then end up having to spit it out. Ewughjowije.

Thank youu, resting up right now. So tired. The worst part was just not being able to get comfy. :S I think I got plenty exercise of sorts on the plane just tossing and turning and moving around, just trying to make it comfortable. The view was beautiful though! Let me show you...

http://i702.photobucket.com/albums/w...e/IMG_5258.jpg

Risque 01-21-2013 07:58 PM

It was nice of Snow to have that giveaway. I got some stuff that I never thought I would be able to afford or get. <3
Oh trust me, if I had it my way, everything would be available in teal, and most people that have seen me around here know that too. XD

Depending on where you work you can get away with doing that even without stuffing up orders. When you are new some places will encourage you to try all the stuff out so you can better recommend everything. Personally I would taste test & recommend the cookies and creme smoothies 100 times over! [lol] You will get the hang of in work snacking someday, so do not fret haha.

I know exactly what you are talking about.. and that is exactly why the proper way to eat mooncakes if you're scared of what's inside is to cut it into little chunks. I'm sure reading Chinese would help a lot with identifying the fillings. <_<

Aww you poor thing! Flights can be cruel like that, and some planes pack everyone in so tight as soon as the person in front of you decides to recline their seat it's game over man. Love the view by the way, it was always way too bright for me to be able to snap good shots. xD

diaveborn 01-22-2013 04:46 AM

That's such a gorgeous picture!

---------- Post added 01-21-2013 at 09:49 PM ----------

Eheheee, I love that comic sans website!

Risque 01-22-2013 07:49 AM

Don't you mean to say you love comic sans? [cool]

Greed 01-22-2013 10:57 AM

I know. :) I got my Dove Wings *hugs* it's sad that she wants to leave though. I don't think i'd be able to quit anything i'd spent heaps of time on. :\

Ooh yumyum. I can't wait. I want a waiter job right now! D< Unfortunately i'm culinary-ly challenged. So i wouldn't be able to cook anything, but i'm very skilled at eating. B)

Haha. I can read limited chinese, but once I get to the table it would just be all spread out.. And i'd just have to pick one at random. Usually I go no where near purple. *shudders at taro*

It was an interesting flight, departed at 11pm (Taipei Time) so I arrived at 11am (Aus time). Zzzz. On the way there, I departed at 11pm (Aus time) and arrived at 4am (Taipei time). Now that was painful. :S And yep it was a nice view, I also caught some shots of the sunset. Unfortunately halfway through the flight it got too bright for me to keep the cover up. ;p

And thanks Diave!

*grumbles at Risque*

Risque 01-22-2013 08:43 PM

Seriously. Menewsha is one of those sites I can't imagine leaving.. even if real life got super hectic. I'd still want to come back from time to time because the staff and community are so friendly. Makes me sad to see people so intent on never coming back.. ):

Do they tip in Australia or is that a strictly American phenomenon? Cause I love tip. I don't do waitress but even at the end of the night I take home an extra 2-3 bucks which adds up. [cool] You don't need to cook to eat, silly! Seeing as how you a skilled eater though, I would recommend working at a place with more variety of food though. Wouldn't wanna get sick of eating work food. [gonk]

OMG you too? I've always been lucky to never have a taro filled mooncake, lotus paste is kinda weird.. but if I bit into a big ol' thing of taro.. [puke]
Kinda like when I go get dimsum and my family orders those crunchy pastry balls, I take a big bite into it only to find out it's taro filling. WTF?!!

Holy smokes, what caused an extra 5 hours to the arriving flight? o_O Oh my gosh, that reminds me of how much I hate those jerks who open their windows when more than half the plane is still sleeping. That stuff is too dang bright!

Greed 01-23-2013 11:00 AM

Tipping in Australia isn't common. Usually you don't tip in normal places, only when you go to fancy-schancy restaurants with waiters that go out of the way to make your day. Or when you have a function on.. That's usually the only times when people tip.

I know right, but I can actually deal with crunchy pastry balls. Somethings I just want to get that crunch. Nomnom. Shocking though, usually asians are all for taro. [XD] *highfive!*

Um time differences? ;3 Also waiting for luggage and so on. If you check in early, your luggage arrives last/near last. Bleh. Usually the flight attendants deal with them people.

*shakes first at Risque*

Risque 01-23-2013 09:03 PM

Ah I see. In America we tip for almost anything and we're starting to get to the point where tipping doesn't serve it's original purpose anymore. Some people expect a tip for mediocre service and some restaurants pay their employees less than minimum wage because they know that people tip so much that the employees can still make enough money. It's really messed up and nowadays I tip only in cash and for good service. Thankfully I get good service most of the time. :)

*hi5* Seriously, Asians love Taro way too much. One year I had it in my birthday cake. [puke] I think Thai people or the Vietnamese put Taro in almost everything? Either way I am wary about what I order when I go to eat Viet/Thai food.

Oh wow. I didn't know that. That's awful! D:<

Greed 01-24-2013 03:05 AM

Haha you look fabosa.

And okay, yeah I think because food is already so expensive, people just don't tip? Or maybe because people don't tip, the food is expensive. WHO KNOWS! Haha. :)

And that's good, *nods*.

Oh god. GET IT AWFFFF! Bleh, when I go to viet restuarants I usually get Pho and when I go to Thai restaurants I order pad thai. [XD] That way I always know what i'm getting myself into! :D

Risque 01-24-2013 03:40 AM

Thanks bby. ;D I call this one, "Greed-esque." lmao jk <3

Haha, yeah I wish I knew which came first. Would make this tipping business a whole lot less annoying to think about. I wonder if food prices would go up if we didn't tip here in the States.. o-o

Mmm yummu Pad Thai. I don't know why but people LOVE Thai food in Oregon, more than they did in California where I used to live and where there was more Asian people. It's seriously weird but I guess white people like the peanuts, and the sweet and sour tastes of Thai Food.
We have like 5 different thai places on one street all within two miles and they all get good business. o_O

Greed 01-24-2013 04:36 AM

Lol!

Who knows, whats the average price of a lunchtime dish over there?

Mmhmm! I don't know either, near my uni there's an entire street, where 90% of the stores are Thai. It's actually crazy. One store will have like 3 different stores that are under the same name, so like Thai 1, Thai 2 or Thai 3. And that would be the case for several different store names. :\ It's confusing when you want to work out where you want to eat. Usually I just stroll on by, and go into the one with people inside that look happy while eating. [XD]
