I've actually found joy in cooking lately. Used to be a chore for me and now I like making up different recipes. [yes]
|
What do you like to cook?
|
Pork, chicken and beef. In all different kinds of way. My next endeavor is going to be cooking some pork loin marinated in teriyaki sauce over rice and served with cauliflower. Yum.
My older sister taught about making blackened chicken with cajun seasoning, with multicolored potatoes, broccoli and instead of sour cream, we used plain yogurt cause it has a tang to it and is healthier then sour cream. |
I've never had jack in the box. I don't think there are any in Canada. Or if there are... they're hidden in downtown Toronto or Vancouver or something.
That... sounds very delicious. I'm not even hungry and I want to try something you make Andais. [drool] |
Come on over. There is plenty to go around and share with friends. [:)]
|
I need to get a passport.
I'm sort of lazy. And school broke. |
School broke? Are you in Uni?
|
Yup. It's great, and oh so terrible. [lol]
|
School has a way of doing that to you. Fun and sad all at the same time.
Is this your first year? |
Definitely. Are you studying as well?
I'm in a program that split my first year into two, so yeah, this is the end of my first year technically. Well, June will be. |
Nope, I am not currently in school. Went to a vocational college in my early twenties and graduated, went directly into working. Sadly, the school that I went to, doesn't even play into in my every day occupation. *shrugs* Just one of those things.
What are you going to school for? |
Why doesn't it play into it?
Child and youth care. I'm considering Child Life specialty. |
Went to school for Medical Assisting and I work at a bank now.
Oh! That sounds like a great field of study. |
Oooh.
It's interesting. I'm sort of going to school for four years to make minimum wage though. [sweat] |
But you'll love what you're doing right? That's better then making a bunch of money.
|
Exactly!
I just hope I can pay off any loans I need to take out. o-o |
Might take awhile, but you can do it.
Loved the Child Psychology class I took in College. What job do you want after getting done with college? |
I'm not one hundred percent sure. There are a lot of options within child and youth care.
I'm thinking of working towards being a Child Life specialist at a hospital/with out patients. But I'm open to working at a group home or something similar. Then there are the workers that are sort of the first step to diagnosing possible disorders and the like. They're called out when parents aren't sure if something is wrong early in their child's development, then are referred to specialists to diagnose and treat whatever it may be. I have also considered being one of those specialists, perhaps working with children with autism or anxiety disorders. Maybe even self-harm issues or eating disorders with youth. Those options may take some additional schooling if I don't work my electives right. There is just so much I'm interested in. [sweat] Maybe school will help me narrow down what to do. Most are government jobs, so at least I'd get good benefits. That'll help with the money issue, if it is an issue. |
Benefits are a good thing for sure.
Catching them young or early on sounds like something that could be interesting. I worked for a psychology office that was funded by the county and we worked with children that have Autism. It was definitely challenging and interesting. Is it possible that you could apply at jobs to intern and see what areas you do enjoy...? |
We have three or four practicums that are fairly extensive, so I will have that experience.
But there probably is possibility for internships later on. I'm going to be taking three semesters for two years, which sort of eats up my possibility for a summer internship though. Eh. I'll figure it out. I think my electives will also help me figure out where I want to go, and talking to people. The faculty is quite close with the students at the university I'm at, especially in child and youth care. "It's all about relationships" or something. [lol] I'm sure I'll figure it out in good time. Right now I just need to worry about my zombie essay. |
Yep, networking is the key.
Zombie essay? |
Yeah. We got a pretty wide selection for our informative essay in my academic writing course. I chose zombies.
Fun. At least I thought it would be. Not enough sources. I swear. Head. To. Desk. But I'm still sort of learning stuff. Boop. What are you up to this fine evening/morning/day? |
I could see how that would be a big pain to get information about. Seems everyone has an idea of what zombies are and what is required to kill them...what their purpose is...
We're watching movies and hanging out on the couch. Such a riveting life over here. |
I've narrowed it down to issues addressed by Night of the Living Dead.
Sounds exciting. What movie? |
The statement of Nuclear war and the break down of our society as a dog eat dog world..?
Right now, we are watching Not Another Teen Movie. |
