Good! ;) We miss you in Ava as well. You need a quest thread there too I think. >.>
That forum occupies most of my time as it is, now.

Silence 08-03-2008 11:09 PM

Yeah, I haven't really been anywhere on the internet lately. I should have a lot more free time in a few weeks, though.

I haven't gotten around to making a quest thread on Ava, yet. They always take so much time for me to make because I have to go through all the shops and copy the images of all the items I want. I'll do it eventually, though.

Deilen 08-03-2008 11:16 PM

Oh I know what you mean.
I haven't done that for Ava completely though, because only the more recent items are thumbnails.
And anyway, I am editing my list at this time.
Or, I will after this event week more than likely.
I will be too distracted otherwise.

Leela 08-04-2008 01:02 AM

I am still fixing mine up..but it's open for chatting anyway ^^

Deilen 08-04-2008 01:42 AM

Your quest? Oh LOL I know, it says updating forever

Leela 08-04-2008 01:57 AM

hehe yeah, cause I keep getting distracted.

Deilen 08-04-2008 02:18 AM

Me too, like I said, I'll get to it when this is all over.
Looks like some things are working now.

Leela 08-04-2008 02:23 AM

Yep. I am going to try to concentrate on Mene more for the next little while.

Deilen 08-04-2008 03:01 AM

Glad the lag isn't nearly as rough as before, yoish.

Silence 08-04-2008 02:19 PM

Yep, the lag seems to be better today.

I've been too lazy to update the images in this thread, too. xP

I'm going to try to make a quest thread on Ava before the end of the summer, though. Once school starts again, I probably won't have much free time, especially since I'm going into my junior year of high school. It's supposed to be crazy, and I'm also taking a lot of APs. =[

Deilen 08-04-2008 03:01 PM

Lol, Don't stress Silence. I took four AP and did fine.
If you think Junior year is crazy, wait until Senior.
THAT was a b*tch. :? I mean it was fun and all, but it flew.
You have to stay on top of things, and thankfully I only got senioritis in May.
I still did all my work, never slacked.
But some things I did put off longer than I should have.
xD

I wonder how much time I will have with college and getting a job.
I'm not worrying about it too much though.
There will be time for things like this.
Always are, if you really want there to be.

Siri 08-04-2008 03:13 PM

I agree with Deilen, senior year was actually harder and more stressful. >.<

Silence 08-04-2008 03:14 PM

Yeah, I'm taking five APs next year. I'm not too worried about most of them, but AP English is probably going to be hard for me, as I hate writing. xP Senior year is usually easier for people here, though... at least from what I've heard. I always put things off longer than I should. That's why it always comes and bites me when I have a lot of assignments all due on the same day, and I put them all off until the day before.

My brother really slacked off senior year and ended up getting a few 1s on his APs. xP He doesn't really care, though, especially since he wouldn't have gotten college credit for them anyway.

I'm sure you'll manage to find time for us. I've actually heard from some people that you have more free time in college than in high school, but I don't know how true that is.

Pixore - Really? All the seniors I knew who graduated last year said that it was much easier than junior year.

Deilen 08-04-2008 03:21 PM

Silence, I didn't score high on all of mine but not because of slacking.
Those tests are not easy.
I feel like I wasted time even taking them, but only because I didn't do as well score wise as I'd have liked.
It's alright, I did well enough to get college credit for my English.
Now we're still checking on the history because mine was different than the one out here.
But I have to score to be exempt from it too.
Which saves money.

With college you really have to be good at managing your time.
I would say yes you do potentially have more time than you did in high school.
And that is in part because of how flexible your schedule can now be.
But you have a ton of studying to do, which replaces homeworks.

Siri 08-04-2008 03:27 PM

I dunno... I guess it depends on what you do your senior year. I stuck with it and I took 5 APs and scored 4 & 5's on each of them.

But honestly, I think it's more stressful not because of classes, but because of college applications. You've still got the ridiculous workload, clubs and sports, but on top of that, you need to work on applying to many different schools. Usually, that means dozens of essays and boring forms to fill out.

Sure, your junior year has the SAT/ACT, but those are just tests. They're really not even that big a deal unless you're really competitive and want to get into Ivy League schools. You can get average scores and make it into Big Ten schools easily.

EDIT: Free time in college is a lie. I work about ten hours a week in two different labs (so twenty extra hours). On top of that, you've still got classes. Try to fit a social life into that schedule. Xb

I can usually only go out Friday & Saturday nights, but only if I'm not exhausted. -dies-

Silence 08-04-2008 03:39 PM

Deilen - Yeah, and I've also heard that many colleges don't accept certain APs for college credit because the curriculum is really different from what you learn in a college course. For example, my brother is going to an engineering school next year that doesn't accept AP Physics because they don't really teach it well enough in high school and high schools don't have the equipment to do a lot of the labs.

I'm not very good at managing my time, so I can potentially see myself putting everything off in college and being overwhelmed at the end. xP

Pixore - I only plan on taking around two APs senior year because I plan on taking university courses, which requires free periods in my schedule. I took 3 APs sophomore year (well, 4 because economics is two exams) and I'm taking 5 junior year, so I won't really need to take that many more.

I guess college apps would take up a lot of time, though.

Deilen 08-04-2008 03:44 PM

LOL Like I said, lot of studying.
I have a good schedule I think.
No Friday or Saturday classes.
But once I get a job ._. those days will be gone as well.

Siri 08-04-2008 03:49 PM

You're probably going to spend a lot of time visiting colleges too, so that'll eat up a lot of your time.

But if you're just taking two AP's, you should be fine. I don't think we need to tell you anything else, since you're clearly a good student and you probably know your limits. x)

Good luck~

Silence 08-04-2008 03:49 PM

Deilen - Aww. But hopefully, you can get a job with nice coworkers so at least you'll have a good time.

Pixore - Yeah, I think I'm going to start visiting colleges the summer before senior year. I'd start now, but I'm busy this summer and can't go anywhere.

I'm not too worried about my workload senior year, but junior year might be hard. I've heard that the AP English teacher assigns hours of homework every night.

Thanks!

Deilen 08-04-2008 03:52 PM

Silence, yes true. But it's not easy working and going to school full time is what I mean.
I'll only be doing it for FAFSA's sake.
And for the work ethic I guess.

Siri 08-04-2008 03:55 PM

@Silence: My junior AP teacher was awful too! >.<

We had to write a freaking essay each night. And it was always graded very strictly. D:
And he would always assign random other things... it was way too much work, imho.

I hope it won't be as bad for you~

Silence 08-04-2008 03:56 PM

Deilen - Yeah... I'm not sure yet if I'll have to get a job when I go to college. My brother is two years older than me, so there will be two years when my parents will have to pay for college for both of us. They can manage to pay for just one of us, but I don't know about two.

Pixore - For me, it depends on which teacher I get. One is kind of easy, but the other is sadistic and enjoys watching her students suffer. My friend who had her last year said that she had four hours of English homework every night.

Omg, we're twins. I have a brother that's two years older than me too. My parents had the same problem. My brother worked to pay his own apartment and living costs when I started. It also helps to take out a small loan, use FAFSA.

I worked during the summer to pay for my own parking lease and supplies. It'll be hard to find work while you're in college though, because there are so many desperate students. xD;;

But start looking early and you should be able to find something, although it'll probably be a crappy low paying job.

I'm getting a car this year so I can go work a little bit farther off campus. It sucks because you have to pay for parking lease, but you'll be able to pay it off and earn some money with a better paying job further away.

And that's all the advice that I have to offer~

Paying for college sucks. Xb

EDIT: Lol, I really hope that you don't get her. >.<

Leela 08-04-2008 04:52 PM
