Woooohhh tickle tackle... **pounces**
|
Merry Christmas everyone!! Ellie had to work today, so I've been up since 7:30--we opened out stockings, but I have to wait until she gets out of work to open my real presents. I'm PRAYING she gets out early since we're having dinner with my folks, then driving down to New Jersey. |
*giggles with the tackle tickle* Not fair!
Can't believe there are people working on Christmas. |
eeep! I've been pinched!!
LOL... we've been up since 4am with questions every 10 minutes or so to the effect of "Can you/we get up now?" You'd think it was Christmas in a house with kids or something! XD Merry Christmas / Happy Holidays, everyone! |
Yeah it's sad that people have to work Christmas Eve/Day but I guess there are those important ones that need to be open all the time.
|
7-Eleven isn't important they are just greedy >.>* Dillon worked Christmas and Christmas eve... Both 8 hours shifts that were held over an extra 35-40 minutes after shift end... If he worked for a hospital or something like that I'd feel much better about it but no I'd have rather had him home for the holidays then serving the disrespectful public while his boss took her third week of holiday vacation of the year >.> one on Easter week one thanksgiving and one on Christmas... /end rant...
WOW BLAZE!!! My kids slept until 8AM but then again my oldest didn't go to sleep until well after 10PM because he kept coming downstairs and blaming me for Santa not coming yet LOL... Which funny enough was my fault anyhow... I told him that Santa doesn't come until everyone is asleep... haha |
LOL Jaz - we had some of that too... yelling at us across the house to go to sleep so Santa can come. They were up at 4am anyway... and every time I/we started dozing off again, they'd suddenly appear with a new round of questions about it being time to get up...
|
My kids stayed up until well after 11. which was bad since I was doing the route with scott that morning and I wanted to get the presents out before we left. But we didn't have time. So my brother did it for us. xD But aaron still didn't get up until 8, and Scott was still WRAPPING my presents at 9. wtf? xD
|
Men are notorious for waiting until the last minute to get things done. Rodd and my dad are one of the few guys that I know who don't wait until the last moment.
|
My hubby waited till Christmas eve to wrap my presents.... Then again I had one of his I waited until Christmas eve to wrap too! While looking for the Christmas eve finishing touches I kept picking up the bag of my unwrapped presents and looking into it and freaking out, closing it fast and putting it back into its corner... Luckily I wasn't able to guess... He usually waits until the last second to buy presents but I am training him to do better LOL
|
Scott lost one of my presents. xD He couldn't find it. Or Kuras bike for that matter. :/ How he lost them is beyond me. But that child has serious organizational skill issues. Which is funny, because he's the one that obsessively cleans at times, I'll clean and be happy for floor space. xD
|
Morning ladies!!! We returned home from NJ last night, so did I miss anything? |
Nothing much really.
My sister got up yesterday in a tizzie since her life is spiraling out of control. She decided that yesterday was the day for a deep clean of the house. So I got bitched at about stuff when in reality I am the one that cleans out the cat box, does the dishes, vacuums and dusts on any kind of a regular basis and my sister...well she comes home from works, sits in the living room and does some work on her laptop, creates dirty dishes and then doesn't clean up after herself, but I am the lazy one? |
 It happens Andais. I hope she got over that. Its not fun to be bitched at two days in a row. >.<
|
Amy is stressed out and overwhelmed, I fully understand that this, but she isn't helping the situation by taking it out on me. All it does is make me bitchy and pissy, thus continuing the cycle. I really want to move out of my sister's place and into an apartment with Rodd.
Rodd will not be re-enlisting in October because he found out that the command he is with will be shipping out for Aghanistan in November. WTF!? They will be back for 9 months, barely, and then have to ship out agan for over a year....! Not thrilled with that and neither is Rodd. He is done missing holidays with the family and not really wanting to do another stay in Afghanistan. |
He doesn't get to change stations/command when he re-enlists? My brother went from Va-Beach to a base in CA (or will, since he re-enlists in January) He also got to rank up from the switch. I can't see why Rodd would have to stay with the same command.
(I don't blame him for wanting to get out though, not being able to be with family is a real hardship) |
He changed command when he got back from Aghanistan and he told me that all of the other commands he could go to with openings for him...they are all heading to Afghanistan because of Obama's promise of 30k more troops.
|
Blast you Obama! You'd think he could find a land unit to switch to that wouldn't be going out any time soon. :/
|
He tried, but there aren't any other openings for what he is right now. His command was suppose to be in Afghanistan already, but the command leader told the higher ups what they could do with their orders and so they are in Spain until February and then November they get deployed. Sucks for those guys staying with the command.
|
Yeah it does. Well, it's a good thing he's getting out then. :3
|
You would think that the military would realize how hard it is mentally for these guys to be gone from their families all the time and putting them out for months and years at a time is brutal to the mental health. Ridiculous.
Kind of sad to see him get out, but I back his decision. |
Its hard on the families too. The military has been the cause of a few divorces since men/women come back from war changed and they don't relate to their spouses anymore. :/
That and being away for so long breaks the bonds and you start creating new bonds. SO many people are cheating on their spouses while in the service its disgusting. That's why I make sure Scott puts me and the kids first. xD The military can not have him! I won't let them! *clings and hisses* |
*snorts* I have seen how many people cheat and are abusive to their spouses. Saddens me quite a bit. It does take a certain mental fortitude to be with someone that serves their country. It's not easy and people that think it is are beyond retarded, in my opinion. You have to work twice as hard to make it work and continue moving forward in your relationship, especially when you are a few thousand miles away from them.
|
People made fun of scott for missing me the first year he was on the ship and away from us during christmas. He was sad and missing me, they asked him what was wrong, and he said he wanted to be back home with his wife. They asked how long we had been together, and he said it was our one year anniversary, and they just laughed at him. :/ Apparently you can't miss someone that you've only been married to for a year. Sadly over half of that year he was away on a ship. So we had maybe 4 months of our first year of marriage together.
Granted most of these guys are either single and buying prostitutes, or divorced for being asses to their spouses. And as of tomorrow Scott and I will have been married for 5 years. Neener neener neener to them! And we're still going strong. The thing is keeping your priorities straight in the relationship. Thats what a lot of people have a hard time with. |
I know when my brother got married he was deployed 3 months after the wedding- I felt really bad for my sister-in-law, not only had they just gotten married- but she had also just moved to Oklahoma (since that's where he was stationed at the time).
Poor girl knew pretty much nobody and was alone for most of the first year of their marriage. |
