It is a cycle of behavior for my sister for the first meds she was on. They made her feel listless and zombiefied, plus a disconnected numb feeling, trouble waking up. Amanda's boyfriend is good about making sure she takes the meds, my dad also texts her in the morning to make sure that she has taken the meds. She wants us to check on her and make sure things are going well, she is adament about wanting to be even and almost normal.
My true horrified moment was when she told me that she wanted to have kids. Believe you me, no one in my family wants her to breed, it would disasterous. I worry that my kids are going to be twinked between the ears.

Mental illness isn't always passed down...and if the family is aware of it, they can keep a better eye on the possibility of it showing up. Or, they can head off a lot of it at the pass by teaching coping mechanisms before symptoms emerge. A lot of mental illness can be handled without meds or a lot of trouble.

My little sisters siblings, of the 4 we know, 3 of them have some sort of mental disorder, 2 have bipolar (Amanda and her brother Josh) and Rebecca is schizophrenic.

My dad was diagnose bi-polar and schizophrenic... >.> He was a special individual... I think the worst two of us four biological children are my youngest sister and brother... But they aren't like mentally troubled I don't think I think they lack discipline!

Amanda is worried about the schizophrenia because in certain cases Bipolar and schizophrenia go hand in hand.

As long as Amanda takes her meds and continues going to the psychiatrist then she should be all right. But I definitely don't think she should be breeding, not for the mental disorder aspect but for the simple fact that she cannot handle children at all.

Sounds like you're right Queen. Ellie says she'd rather deal with a schizophrenic than a bi-polar because they are more difficult and it's one of the hardest diagnoses to make because so many have symptoms of other disorders, like schizophrenia.

I think Ellie should meet my little sister so she can see what a classic case of bipolar looks like and how it functions on a day to day basis. Amanda has very few, if any friends. She doesn't participate in games because she doesn't like losing or more accurately has no concept on what fun is, plus there is the whole no conscience.
Pretty sure that if my parents hadn't instilled some core values and morals in Amanda's life she would have no ethics on what is right and what is wrong. There are times even now when she struggles with that. Stealing is bad generally, but for Amanda if it's a means to her own end, she'll do it and not think twice.

Yikes. I want to slit my wrists after spending just a few short hours with my little sister, don't think I could manage being together willingly with someone that is bipolar.

It'll be the only vaccination I'd willing sign up for...otherwise they can take their vaccinations and shove it. Not worried about the flu and truthfully, you don't know what you're getting with that stuff. No thanks on the icky stuff.

Eh... I'd rather Vaccination then the illnesses they prevent (minus the flu one)... Though I haven't needed a Vax since I was in high school!

That is not happening again. Nope Nope Nope. Vaccines for everyone! ^o^ haha.

I haven't had a vax since high school but I don't think I need one >< I don't know the kids little chart things only go to like age 16 so I figure I am good... They never say anything at my check ups... Dillon is more up to date on Vaccines then I am... He had to get them to live in the dorms a couple years back!

I think I'm due for a tetanus booster and maybe a couple of other things? No idea. My last vaccine flu not included was in high school. I don't really mind them, I got used to shots when I was pregnant with Sakura and it's gotten to the point where I can give them to myself...I just choose not to. xD The surrogacy helped a lot with my fear of needles. Gotta do what you gotta do!

When I started school I needed my tetanus booster and Hep B, but all the other vaccines aren't needed after about 16 or so. Tetanus is every 10 years, the Hep B was a requirement for school.

I wish I could remember when I got my tetanus shot... xD I'm almost positive I'm due for a booster, but I don't have my shot record. I wonder if my doctor would just give it to me if I requested it? hurm.
When are you leaving for Europe? O:

Your Dr should have that on record Mel.
I leave in mid-July for England. I can hardly believe it's happening, but I got my syllabus a few days ago, now I just need to buy the tickets. Unfortunately, my loans are taking longer to disperse than they should, so I may need to borrow money from my dad.
