It is relaxing for me... It and the computer.... I am pretty high strung though T_T

Melody 05-28-2010 08:16 PM

*is also high strung* I'm entertained by TV, sometimes relaxed. I like being able to just sit with the kids or the hubby and relax. It's like saying theres no point in music or art. Media is an art, and I enjoy it. ;D

As for the little mermaid, I never saw it as changing for your man. More like knowing what you wanted and going for it. She did what she had to, she didn't change her personality, only got legs so she could get to him. Besides he never told her to. :P Crap, I was going to say something else but the yelling children made me forget.

Jaz 05-28-2010 08:24 PM

That is true I was digging for what you were aiming at with a previous statement I believe!

ROAR at kids not taking their naps... Particularly the one who still needs his nap and will be a cranky little butt head if he doesn't get it.... <.< and bigger roar at crappy neighbors who keep reminding me how much I HATE them!!!

Melody 05-28-2010 08:32 PM

The racism statement for the little mermaid? That's because triton was saying all humans were uh something about fish eaters and hooks. xD Ariel points out that he doesn't know them all and yada yada yada. Her marrying Eric can be seen to the merpeople as an "interracial" marriage. Love doesn't care what you look like, it'll hit you square in the forehead no matter who you are. lolz.

Melody didn't nap today. She's whining and being an all around brat right now. They're attempting to spend time dancing but she keeps falling down (her princess dress is waaay to long, she took one of Kuras instead of hers) and crying. :/

Jaz 05-28-2010 08:37 PM

Aww I see!

I'm flat going to kill my boys I am tired of the fights if they don't nap they are going to spend nap time in the corner I SWEAR!!! **head desk** they are now tattling on each other... Well the one who has a firm grasp on words is and the other is babbling in the exact tone his brother has the words he knows... <.< so tired of it already...

Melody 05-28-2010 08:40 PM

>.> My kids have spent nap time essentially in the corner before. We'd keep them there for 3-5 minutes depending on which one it was, and as soon as they got back to their bed they decided that sleeping wasn't what they wanted to do, they'd start screaming and fighting...and wind up back in the corner. Loooong days.

Jaz 05-28-2010 08:49 PM

LOL I was jokingly saying I was going to cut out the going back to the room part lol... Sean is only 2 so time out for him lasts 2 minutes... Mikes isn't the problem so yeah...

Melody 05-28-2010 08:54 PM

I've considered cutting out the going back to the room part. Some days I think they want to stand in the corner. lol. Kids, I love them but some days I think they're out for my sanity!

Jaz 05-28-2010 09:05 PM

I agree... Though I wonder if my sanity is worth saving at this point.... Ignorance is bliss.... So insanity must be too!

Melody 05-28-2010 09:07 PM

Good point... hmmmm. lol!

Jaz 05-28-2010 09:20 PM

I just don't understand why my 5 almost 6 year old will take a nap most days up to 2-3 hours long but my 2 year old will take a10 minute nap in the car and be awake and a brat the rest of the day???

Melody 05-28-2010 09:24 PM

Because 2 year olds are out to get you.

Jaz 05-28-2010 09:28 PM

I caved and let him sit down to watch word girl... Meh I don't really like this show too much but he will sit for a little while and allow me to unwind from chasing his butt ><

Melody 05-28-2010 09:31 PM

Kura pretends to be word girl. She ties a blanket around her like a cape and goes around saying she's word girl. It's silly. But cute.

Jaz 05-28-2010 09:47 PM

I guess word girl was over... >< so he is watching Martha Speaks instead... After it is over I think I am going to wake the older one and give them both a popsicle and get them to work on the packing of their bedroom!

Melody 05-28-2010 09:52 PM

I don't like Martha. For some reason the show just annoys me. I think most talking animal shows on PBS bother me, because I don't like dragon tales or clifford either. lol. Curious George is cute, but George doesn't talk.

I don't like talking animal shows on Disney either...but I'm okay with movies like Fox and the Hound, Dumbo, Tarzan etc with their talking animals. Weird.

Jaz 05-28-2010 10:02 PM

It doesn't bother me as bad as Dragon Tales.. But I like most talking animal shows... lol

Melody 05-28-2010 10:41 PM

Dragon Tales. *shudders* I think it's the voices they give the animals. Some voice actors can handle it and others just go off the deep end annoying. >.<

Jaz 05-28-2010 11:21 PM

The twin girl dragon makes my spine want to crawl out of my back so yeah >.>

Melody 05-29-2010 12:19 AM

Are they both girls? I thought one was a girl and one was a boy. xD

By the way, I keep meaning to say, I like the outfit you changed into! It's cute. (: One of my favorite color combinations!!

Jaz 05-29-2010 12:57 AM

No it is a boy and a girl the girl one annoys the crap out of me O_o; more so then the boy... and Ord? I think that is his name... It is like they are promoting being loud obnoxious and annoying!!!!

Aw thanks I love purple ^^ and the yellow seemed to go well <3

Melody 05-29-2010 01:47 AM

I don't know their names, I just can't stand the show. Lol. I've watched it enough to know it makes me want to hurt someone. Not only is the girl dragon loud and annoying, but shes an idiot. @[email protected]

Jaz 05-29-2010 01:57 AM

I KNOW!!! I don't understand why PBS signed for it O_o The big clumsy Dragon is Ord I think he talk baby talk and like he is 3 years old ><

Melody 05-29-2010 04:52 AM

Ah I know which one you are talking about now.
I'm guessing they signed for it because kids like dragons, and they are learning to use their imaginations? I don't know but I don't see much educational value in Dragon Tales personally.

Jaz 05-29-2010 05:01 AM

TV does not expand the imagination in anyway imo... I can be used to to aid in learning as I see Mikes interacting with it everyday... But I think it kills imagination cause it shows a spacific way something should be or could be... Where a kid like my brother could make up a story that had no reality to it and be totally entertaining in doing so...

He was a little older then Mikes when he made up this random story about a starfish that went off to the war and jumped out of a plain into a vat of jelly or something it was so weird... >< but it was total imagination no boundaries!!!
