I need to trim mine. But I have 0 desire to actually cut it. I like my long hair. xD But the ends are getting kinda dry, and I think it's only going to get worse in the winter so I may as well get them clipped off when I can.

OMG I just realized tomorrow Scott has off...and the kids have school!! I'll get to have a lunch date with my husband with out the kids...and not feel guilty about leaving someone with them as a baby sitter! woohoo!!

GeminiKizzy 10-03-2010 09:29 PM

Right on, Mel! I'm all for lunch dates w/the hubby.

Zas - my hair is naturaly a sandy blond but it's too dark for me. Well, it looks too washed out for me. I like either all brown or all blond. The inbetween color looks depressing to me - at least my shade does on me.

My hair seriously needs a trim, too. I cut it short two summers ago and haven't cut it since. It's now a little longer than my shoulders but the ends are starting to split. I trim them up on my own sometimes but try not to make a habit out of it.

Zasaleen 10-03-2010 10:09 PM

My friend layered my hair :/ and the top is suppose to frame my face but the bottom looks really silly cause my hair is just sooo thin!

Melody 10-04-2010 12:02 AM

I like to get the front of my hair framed, I can't pull off layers all around my head. My hair is about down to my middle back so it's decently long. I hate it as much as I love it. I hate that it is so hot in the summer, and that if it's down while I'm sleeping I'll roll onto it and pull it, or sometimes my husband pulls it...but I just can't pull off short hair very well. xD

Zasaleen 10-04-2010 03:23 AM

The layer goes all the way around it reminds me of a grown out mullet X_x I can't wait for my hair to grow longer so I don't have to look at the funky shape of it anymore...

You've seen my pictures Mellie you know... ><;; My hair looked good for one day and that was it T_T

Melody 10-04-2010 08:35 AM

It was only the first day? D: No fun.

I love getting my hair styled...but I can never copy the style at home. lol. So I have essentially the same problem you do. I'll go and get my hair done, be completely in love with it that day, take pictures feel pretty...then wash my hair that night and hate it the next day since there's nothing I can do with it. haha. It's total failure.

GeminiKizzy 10-04-2010 01:30 PM

Layered hair is more for thicker hair and it's to reduce the thickness.

I love getting my hair styled, too, but can't afford it much. My hairdresser does something really cute with my bangs that makes them look light and awesome. However, I can never replicate it later when I have to trim them and I'm too embarassed to keep calling her just to do my bangs.

Zasaleen 10-04-2010 01:44 PM

But that is her/ his job lol...

Yeah... my hair looks stupid :/ layering is not for me...

GeminiKizzy 10-04-2010 01:53 PM

yeah, I know, but only ask if I know she is already there. Don't want her to come in just for my bangs - she rarely charges me for it and my tip doesn't cover the gas.

There are lots of cute hairstyles - I'm sure you'll find one you like. I've tried many but always end up growing it long again. I've had the same problem of getting a cute haircut only to not be able to pull it off at home. Now I ask for a style that I can "wash & wear" however, I've noticed what I think of as easy and what a stylist thinks is easy are two different things.

Zasaleen 10-04-2010 02:02 PM

Haahaha a stylist probably thinks anything that is not a perm or something is easy ROFL... I am going to grow my hair long again... I was looking at Pictures from the 4th of July after Sean was born my hair was mid back <3 I miss it... It is just barely below my shoulders right now ><;;

GeminiKizzy 10-04-2010 02:07 PM

I know, right?

I only really like mine when it is at least around my shoulders. Anything shorter I just don't like.

Zasaleen 10-04-2010 02:14 PM

I like my hair short after a certain period of it being long... During my pregnancy my hair was REALLY long... And I cut it shortly after the 4th of July after Sean's birth! Sean was always grabby hands and yanking my hair! I want my hair to be long before I get preggers again!

Melody 10-04-2010 03:23 PM

My kids never really grabbed my hair or my earrings. I wore dangly ones my entire pregnancy and after the kids were born and people kept commenting that they were going to get pulled out...they never did. I think Aaron may have grabbed them once, but I was easily able to remove his hand from my earring with no harm to my ear. People freak out too much. xD
The only thing I don't like about long hair is how much heat gets trapped between my hair and my neck/back in the summer. Specially while pregnant. Instead of being able to enjoy my long hair, I generally shove it up in a bun or a pony tail flippy thing. lol

My hair is too thin for layers, but when I get the front framed it looks great with my eyes/cheek bones and gives my hair a fuller look. So that's a plus. The rest of my hair wouldn't be able to pull it off though!

Bilbo 10-04-2010 03:35 PM

I can't afford to get my hair cut very often, but when I do, I like it jsut past chin length with a little bit of layering . I always tell the stylist that I need a "wash and wear" cut because I will not be blowdrying it or using products. Usually I get something okay. Once I got an amazing cut, but it was $60!! I guess you really do have to pay for beauty...

Melody 10-04-2010 03:44 PM

I don't think I've ever told someone I needed a wash and wear cut...I should see if that changes what they give me. xD I don't mind busting out my flat iron once in a while, since I have these really annoying curly hairs right above my temples that when I'm trying to look nice I straighten out to tame but any more work than that is just too much.

TelstelNSG1 10-04-2010 03:46 PM

I like getting Red, Blue or Purple colour so my light brown parts turn a good highlights and make the rest of the hair look Darker or even black.

Melody 10-04-2010 03:48 PM

I wanted to dye the ends of my hair pink for the hell of it...but I think I'm too old now not to get weird looks from people if I did it. xD

roocee 10-04-2010 04:49 PM

You have that right to do what you want Mel :)

Bilbo 10-04-2010 05:14 PM

You absolutely do! I take the train with a woman probably in her 40's that has bright pink hair. A little odd, but I guess it makes her happy.

If I'm dressing up or have some kind of function, I'll either blowdry my hair straight or use the flatiron, but that's way too much trouble for day-to-day wear. Plus, it usually winds up in a ponytail if it's long enough anyway.

Zasaleen 10-04-2010 07:27 PM

Here it is not uncommon to see women who are in the 60's (or at least what I assume is 60's it could be Meth related) have funky colored hair...

I have hot curlers... If I am doing something nice I will curl my hair... That is all I do I don't really do anything else... But on a day to day I usually pony flip it ><;; or put it in braided piggies

Melody 10-04-2010 07:35 PM

Braided piggies are my other favorite hair style. xD Keeps my hair out of my face and from sticking to my back/neck. win!

>.> Maybe I will dye the ends a light pink and see how it goes. The kids will probably want it done to their hair as well though. lol. My little copy cats. I'll paint my nails and all 3 of them will gather around me and ask me to do theirs next. I think it's cute, but apparently the teachers think it's weird for a little boy to have blue or green finger nails. I figure whatever makes him happy!

Zasaleen 10-04-2010 07:40 PM

I know seriously what is it going to hurt... He's happy... I painted my finger nails black today... they are already messed up less then like 2-3 hours later /fail...

I wish I could french braid /fail... I love the way french braided piggies look and they keep most of my fly aways at bay.

Bilbo 10-04-2010 08:07 PM

I never paint my nails, tehy get ruined too fast, but I do like to keep my toenails done.

Melody 10-04-2010 10:29 PM

I keep my toe nails done. I do them about weekly. xD It's one of the things I've started doing now that the kids are in school during the day. I take like 30 minutes and have some me time.
Normally my finger nails are just a clear coat that way you can't tell when they chip. I've already removed the blue I did a few days ago, and only have my rainy angry thunder cloud thumb nail still done. I've had to touch it up daily to keep it looking decent. >.< I need some crazy type of base/top coat to keep my finger nails from chipping. I do too much in a day to keep them manicured!

GeminiKizzy 10-05-2010 02:16 AM

My nails are too short to paint. I love my flatiron - I'll work w/my hair one day and not wash it the next so it stays nice. However, it tends to get wavy easy so I have to be careful. I got mad at my mom before the wedding yesterday. The rest of us got ready early and I spent the morning getting my hair just right. My mom waited for last minute and couldn't find her make-up so after looking for it, failing, and making her use mine I got sweaty and my hair got all wavy again. I was mad.
