I wanna say it was like two days before Owen was born we went out to a Mexican place after picking up the kids from school, Scott got off of work early, and I hadn't eaten, neither had he, but the kids eat at school. So we get there and they give us chips and salsa, since ya know that's just how mexican places roll, and we let the kids munch on that, and we ordered for ourselves, and got drinks for the kids. Kura had some of my lunch, but the twins were totally content with just chips and salsa as an after school snack. The waitress was looking at us like we were crazy, but eh. They don't eat real mexican food, all they want are the tacos like taco bell offers, so it's a total waste to actually order them food from some places. Real Mexican places, and anywhere that only serves pasta...they just don't eat it. :/

Zasaleen 10-22-2010 01:13 PM

Yeah both boys will complain about how hungry they are and then they won't eat at all... >.> It just ticks me off ><;

Melody 10-22-2010 01:27 PM

Mine do the same. They're so hungry...but they're only hungry for dessert! Brats.

Zasaleen 10-22-2010 02:06 PM

Sean skips dinners more then I even want to think about... >.>;; cause it has green stuff in it <.< or because he has spent the entire afternoon stealing food from the kitchen because he didn't eat his lunch either <.<... naughty boy... Then he wakes up and acts like he hasn't eaten in WEEKS... Well what do you expect.... He wakes up and tells everyone "I'm hungry too" it makes me laugh no one said they were hungry haha

Melody 10-22-2010 03:08 PM

Melody does that, with the green stuff. So this mean mommy...will put foil or seran wrap around her plate and put it in the fridge and give it to her again for the next meal. ;D After two times though I end up tossing it since I don't like heating things up in the microwave more than once. But, she eats it when she gets hungry enough. Bratty child...all she wants is sweets. It annoys me so much.

Zasaleen 10-22-2010 03:57 PM

Sean is just super picky he wants what HE wants and that is all that he will eat! He won't eat any sandwiches but PB&J no grilled cheese... Not meat and cheese NOTHING! Jayden won't eat PB&J at all either she prefers things that have cheese in them ><;;

Melody 10-22-2010 04:23 PM

Melody complains about "salad" in her sandwiches. She doesn't want lettuce, tomatoes, pickles...none of that healthy stuff. She doesn't even like pico de gallo on her tacos. :/ She wants it to be just meat and cheese. So Scott and I have started hiding the stuff in her food. Like for tacos we put the meat in the shell, then the salsa, then the cheese on top so she doesn't see it and by the time she notices it's there she's half way through the taco. xD I refuse to let her get away with being a total food snob. It's not acceptable!

Zasaleen 10-22-2010 04:30 PM

Jayden is like that >.> she spits anything green, yellow, red AKA healthy on my floor after halfway chewing it <.<;;

Sean just won't touch the sandwich if it is anything but PB&J or PB and honey or PB and Nutella

Melody 10-22-2010 10:35 PM

Boy likes his peanut butter.

At least she chews part of it. Melody will refuse to touch it/put it in her mouth.

I was totally impressed though. She ate the cranberry apple ribs I made (they turned out really good...I'm thinking of doing them as my non-traditional Thanksgiving meal this year! But I'm going to par boil them first next time and get some of the fat off of them...they were pretty fatty. </3) and she ate the green beans we had as a side dish to them! hurray!

Jaz 10-22-2010 11:04 PM

That is good! Those still sound REALLY awesome!!!

Yeah Sean loves peanut butter... So does his daddy I SWEAR he is a clone... The only thing that he does like me is eat mushrooms lol...

Melody 10-22-2010 11:25 PM

I got the recipe here: Slow Cooker Cranberry-Apple Pork Ribs - Country Style Ribs With Fresh Cranberry Sauce
But I didn't put in nutmeg because we don't have any. lol. And I used a red delicious apple cuz that's what we had... and spicy brown mustard instead of dijon. Apparently I alter things quite a bit. Oh and I used a normal rack of ribs, not boneless cuz ya know boneless are more expensive. I thought about doing the recipe with the pork loin that's been chillin in the fridge for a couple of days now, but decided against it since the ribs had been in there longer.

I was surprised when Melody ate Oysters. I don't really like most shell fish because they taste waaaay too fishy for me, and have a weird texture. Scott likes them and ordered them once, and she ate them happily. She also eats mushrooms...and that's not something I do. Mellie don't eat no fungus! xD
And all teh kids are obsessed with cheese...which is something else Scott likes. I'm a purely Cheddar, Mozzarella, Colby kinda girl. Parmesean is okay as a topping on pizza or pasta but other than that...I'm not into those cheeses like swiss that look funny and taste like feet!

Zasaleen 10-23-2010 02:26 PM

As far as food goes Sean will chose not to eat things because his brother is picking them out...For example... He sees Michael take peppers and onions out of EVERYTHING and those are the most commonly served veggies in my house... So he picks them out too now >.>;;

We all like cheese.. I am not terribly fond of American in all honesty... But I like all others and so do the boys and Dillon... Sean just doesn't like it on his sandwich if it doesn't involve peanut butter... Come to think of it though Mikes use to be the same way..

Mmmmm I'll have to try those <3

Melody 10-23-2010 04:38 PM

I like american. xD It's salty-ish. lol.

For the longest time Melody would pick pickles out of her hamburgers and throw them on the floor. Then one day we didn't give her a pickle with her sandwich, but Scott, Kura and I all had them, and she threw a fit wanting the pickles since we had them...so I gave her the half of mine I hadn't eaten and she finished it up.
We've done it with squash before too. We'd made up some summer squash to try it, and put it on a plate for the kids and they refused to try it, so we did it up again, and me and scott started eating it ignoring the kids and soon enough they were all around us wanting it. :/ Kids make no sense.

Zasaleen 10-23-2010 07:17 PM

Hmmm I wonder if that would work with Sean... Mikes will eat a lunch meat sandwich... **ponders**

Melody 10-23-2010 11:46 PM

Our pediatrician says to just keeping giving it to them and eventually they'll eat it. This was mostly regarding Melody and veggies since she avoids them like the plague most of the time.

It seems to be working, at least as far as pickles are concerned. I wish I could get her to eat a salad...all in due time I guess. </3

GeminiKizzy 10-26-2010 03:43 AM

Justin eats anything and everything - often. You wouldn't believe it looking at him because he is so skinny but he is growing so much he burns it off.

Melody 10-26-2010 12:54 PM

Was he picky when he was younger, or did he always eat like that? Kura eats things fine, she'll try most things and if she doesn't like it won't finish it. But the twins...they're just picky. </3

GeminiKizzy 10-26-2010 01:41 PM

He's always been willing to try things. He gets salad when we go out and prefers fruit to candy. I never have to worry about him eating too much junk because he just doesn't. Except for cookies - he is a total Cookie Monster and I have to put a stop to it late afternoon if I want him to eat dinner.

Melody 10-26-2010 02:18 PM

lol. Nice. Kura is like that...and Aaron will normally choose yogurt over other sweets, buy Melody...that child is a glutton for anything that's not good for her. And it drives me crazy. She very rarely gets dessert because she doesn't eat her dinner, and she rarely has sweets outside of dessert...and yet she still doesn't eat the things that are good for her. Drives. Me. Bonkers!

Zasaleen 10-26-2010 02:28 PM

Sean and Melody sound a lot a like... ><;; Sean gorged himself on candy from my cauldron last night... And refused to eat dinner until almost 8... He thinks candy > spinach and mushroom pizza... Mikes wasn't picky until he hit about 2-3 when more sweet things were more prevalent in my house... It changed again when Sean was born and we went back to buying just healthy food... Sean has always been picky... He'd nurse and make some weird faces depending on what I ate... And he thought fruit was the nastiest thing ever when he started baby food... ><;; He loved veggies then... Now he prefers fruit to veggies

Melody 10-26-2010 02:36 PM

Come to think of it, Melody wouldn't even eat green baby food...so I guess I should have seen this coming.

Zasaleen 10-26-2010 02:43 PM

Jazzy needs to do some Christmas shopping... ><;; Dillon is pulling a lot of overtime... So maybe we can afford some more stuff... /random

Michael found some of the gifts we already bought which irritates the crap out of me <.< the little snot needs to stay OUT of my office!

Melody 10-26-2010 05:57 PM

We put all the Christmas presents above our closets in the little shelf up there.
We did have the twins presents under our bed this year because we had other stuff in our closet...but Aaron found them and kept dragging them out asking when he could open it. "It's not yours you can't open it now STAY OUT OF MY ROOM!"
I have $50 in my Amazon account from surveys, but now that I have money in there, I can't find anything I really want to spend it on. lol. If I don't have money in there I have a wishlist with at least 10 items on it for Scott and the kids...there's something wrong with me I swear.

Zasaleen 10-26-2010 06:20 PM

Man I need to do some surveys... /lazy....

It doesn't help that I don't have the site bookmarked or password saved on here cause it is Dillon's computer /fail!

Melody 10-26-2010 07:25 PM

lol. I only do them on this computer since our lappys don't have internet explorer and this one site called mysurvey has some surveys that can only be completed in IE. :/

One of my friends in Cali just did a survey about writing utensils for $7 on Opinion Outpost. I didn't even get an invite for it. </3
