Dillon notices if I toss shirts... How? I have no idea... He has 110 of them so yeah ><;

Melody 10-30-2010 04:57 PM

Man knows his clothes apparently.

I was surprised Scott didn't say anything when I did a dresser purging over the summer. He only had like 40 shirts, and I got rid of well over 10 of them...

Zasaleen 10-30-2010 05:37 PM

I was over exaggerating the number.. I just know he has a ton of shirts compared to my 7 or 8 I need to do some clothing shopping again... I had to toss a few of my favorite shirs T_T

Melody 10-30-2010 06:36 PM

I have more clothes than Scott does. And I know I should send some of my shirts off to the good will, since they're too small for me...I don't like my tummy showing, but I love the shirts. xD They amuse me, so I don't want to get rid of them.

Zasaleen 10-30-2010 07:37 PM

I use to have a ton of clothing... A lot of it was stuff my mother has given me that I just didn't like enough to wear >.> some of it is was stuff my MIL bought too... I gave stuff that I didn't wear for more then a year away to charity... And then bought myself clothes I knew I would wear...><;; I really don't need other people to buy me clothes I can do it myself I swear! I am guilty of wearing Dillon's T-shirts if I want to wear something comfortable other wise I want my clothing to be PRETTY!!!

Melody 10-31-2010 01:00 AM

I've been running around all day in pajama pants, and Scotts new sweatshirt. lol. I'm totally guilty of stealing his clothes when I want to wear something comfy.

His mom likes to buy shirts...but they're rarely things I would wear. She'll get me like 4 shirts every christmas from Kohls, and they're nice, but they're just not me...so I'll keep maybe 1 out of the 4. They're just kinda...random mostly. ^^;;

Zasaleen 10-31-2010 02:09 AM

Yup I was expecting today to be just me Dillon and the kids... So I am wearing one of Dillon's softest (and baggiest) shirts and a pair of old pants... But now were having company ><

Melody 10-31-2010 07:12 PM

I'm still running around in Scotts sweatshirt. xD
Had to change from pajama pants to jeans though, since his brother wanted pictures taken for the CD/Project he's creating, so we had to go outside to take those, and I don't want the neighbors seeing me run around in pajamas.

Hey ladies. Ellie would totally notice if I threw something away. occasionally I can get away with a pair of socks or something when I'm doing laundry, but that's about it.

We just brought the winter clothes up from the basement, and Ellie actually put together a big bag of stuff that needs to go to Goodwill. I'm hoping to get a 2nd bag when we open the bin (we have 2 of those huge space-saver bags and a big bin, almost all of it hers) and she puts away the last of her stuff.

Jaz 10-31-2010 09:43 PM

All my clothes are out all the time... ><;; I still only have like 8 shirts... 5 pairs of jeans... Two dress pants (one khaki one black) 1 pair of shorts and one skirt/ shirt combo...

EternalHearts 11-01-2010 02:13 AM

That must be nice. I used to do that, but now that Ellie and I share one closet, we don't' have enough room and have to cycle out our clothes. I wish Ellie would get rid of some of hers because she has tons of stuff she'll never wear again, but I have to pick my battles. I have about 2 weeks worth of tops (in a combo of long/short sleeves for winter and short/sleeveless for summer, which means most stay out year-round), and like 4 pairs of pants, which can rotate to last me 2 weeks if I don't spill too many times. :D

Non-work clothes sit in my dressers, which don't rotate at all.

Blazestorm 11-01-2010 12:11 PM

Just thought I'd pop in and say "Hi" on your Quest thread, EH!

Jaz 11-01-2010 12:52 PM

Hi Blazey!

I don't have anything in my dresser right now. ><; We decided to confiscate the boys matching dressers for our not matching dressers.

Melody 11-01-2010 04:43 PM

Jaz needs more clothes.

All my clothes are out at the same time too. Same for the kids, but with them they change sizes so often they generally only have clotehs in there for the season before they don't fit anymore. >.< I wouldn't have a place to store clothes that aren't currently seasonal save for in my closet where they already are. I have my previous halloween costumes in there too. lolz. My house is in desperate need of more storage space!

Bilbo 11-01-2010 06:52 PM

Hi Blaze!!

We keep some of our costumes in the spare bedroom closet (along with our sweatshirts and a few of Ellie's other shirts...), but most of the pieces are in a bin with our Halloween decorations.

Our seasonal clothes get put into a plastic bin and 2 of those vacuum-shrink bags, which all go to the basement. It keeps things nicely out of the way.

Jaz 11-01-2010 06:55 PM

Mine too Mellie... Our basement isn't really storage friendly plus it isn't really that big either... We have TONS of rooms but only 3 of them have closets... ><;; and come to find out if we do change the master bedroom into two rooms like we want to we are going to need to install heating ducts into both of those rooms... Cause we want to move downstairs..... Eventually

I have 4 old costumes in my bedroom closet. But they are going into the halloween decoration bin this year as I forgot to do that the last two years lol

Leela 11-01-2010 07:47 PM

Hiya! Just stopping in to say hi!

Blazestorm 11-01-2010 11:29 PM

Basements.... *drool*
Yeah - we don't have any basements here  ... but of course, you wouldn't when you can dig a 6" hole and find water...

Costumes are usually stuffed into boxes and shoved up in to the attic, where we hope the plastic pumpkins and stuff don't melt all over them and ruin them completely.

Extra clothes for the seasonal thing?... don't trust 'em to the attic so they're all stuffed in my closet in clothes boxes but it's just impossible to deal with it -the closet and the clothes!- and things don't seem to get transferred for the seasons, such as they are in Florida.

Oh well. Priorities, right? And available space? I should probably get rid of some clothes though... it just seems that whenever I do, sure enough -that's- the item I end up looking for / needing!! XD

Jaz 11-01-2010 11:52 PM

That makes since not to have a basement... ><;; Basements here are mostly to store all the heating and water supplies lol... Water heaters and the like... ><;; They usually aren't pretty... Nor are they very functional for anything else...

Melody 11-02-2010 01:01 AM

We have a crawl space under the house...but no basement. We have a bit of an attic thing, but right now we have a ton of my brothers stuff stored up there. Really need to get up there and pack it all up and ship it off to him...heaven knows my husband is tired of it being there...and so am I. It just means I have to make so many trips to the post office.... ugh. I don't like going out there by myself!!

Jaz 11-02-2010 01:06 AM

Our basement is classified as a crawl space >,<;; At least it was by the guy selling the house ><; but the appraiser and the inspector classified it as an unfinished basement...

We also have a crawl spacey attic type thing... >.> all that is up there is insulation that needs to be replaced lol

Melody 11-02-2010 01:26 AM

We need to replace the insulation around our house too. One of these days...I'll learn to do it myself and save a ton of money! xD

I think Lowes.com has a bunch of how to videos posted...I wonder if that is one of them? I'd love to get it done... but I also know that insulation gives me something very similiar to hives when I touch it. At least certain types of it does...so i'll have to be really careful. ^^;;

Jaz 11-02-2010 01:38 AM

Well you are suppose to wear gloves if I recall I can't imagine insulation is hard... My mom did hers herself...

Blazestorm 11-02-2010 02:13 AM

Never done insulation before, but I do believe you should wear gloves, a mask (you don't want to be inhaling that stuff), and some long clothes to keep the particles off (otherwise you'll get itchy)... I don't think it's hard though...

I miss having a basement. A real basement. And a house with stairs. And closets. And hills and rocks and deciduous trees in the area.... and... yeah... ok... the beach is nice, and I'm not complaining about still wearing shorts and tank tops in November (and later) but I do miss some of those things - especially at this time of year. And wood stoves!! Oh... yeah...

Melody 11-02-2010 01:00 PM

I'd have to find an over shirt like thing that wouldn't allow the particles to get onto my skin.

I don't think it should be hard either, I don't even think it's that expensive if you buy the stuff and do it yourself. Like all maintenance things, it's the labor that you have to pay an arm and a leg for...

I watched some home improvement show. These people re-did their living room for like $1400, then they had contractors come in and inspect it (as well as before) they'd estimated the work to have cost over $9000. I was like holy cow...I need to learn how to do my own home improvement stuff!! That is a lot of money to be saved by doing it yourself. :3
