I take a daily multivitamin - but when I'm starting to feel down I boost my zinc, c, and A&D intake - find it helps me fend off stuff a little better.
I remember reading the strawberry fact somewhere once - I thought it was neat - but I can get 'fresh' OJ easier and cheaper than in season strawberries  Ohh . .speaking of strawberries - I should try and pick some up at the market this weekend - make a strawberry rhubarb pie - so good |
Thanks Meave, I never noticed. Wonder what happened.
Sia, I need to start taking vitamins. I just don't know where to even begin on what is the best to take. There are so many out there, even multivitamins. |
Strawberries 'looks' good in my place. lol. Very pretty too~ <3
Pity I don't eat them. :( |
Mmmm, I love strawberries.
|
Strawberries make me happy. I've actually just started taking a multi-vitamin again--this one has extra calcium just cause I know I don't get nearly enough in my diet, and there is a history of bone troubles in the women in my family. And best of all, they are GUMMY BEARS!!
|
Ohh. .gummy bear multi vitamins!!! That's awesome!! http://premium.2.forumer.com/html/em...m/thumbsup.gif
I just got the Costco brand women's one a day and figured that's good enough - I don't want to put the time or energy into lots of research about vitamins. I think when I run out I should try to find those gummy bear ones . .what brand is it? |
Sia, I actually got mine at Costco! I don't remember what their brand name is, but they were right there with the rest of the multi-vitamins. There is a regular gummy bear that is a plan multi-vitamin, and the calcium one I have (the bears have little creamy swirls) and omega-3 sour bears.
As for knowing what to get, I say got with a general multi-vitamin at first. And at the next visit with your doctor, ask him/her about their suggestions. |
*nods* Women's one a day is the best if your sporting breasts and a doodah. The regular multivitamins don't generally have enough of the essential minerals and nutrients that women need to maintain good health. And yes, your physician would have better insight into vitamins that you can be taking to improve over all health. Just don't forget to mention that you are already on the multivitamin so you don't double up on certain things, can lead to other issues which aren't so good.

I thought gummy bears are sweet that only do decay on your teeth!!! O__O

Wow, page three after just a weekend.
As some of you read on the Purkle Couch thread, we finally found out what was wrong with my girlfriend El....apparently she has viral meningitis--not the dangerous and lethal bacterial one you hear about. Apparently between that, a super-bad UTI that was asymptomatic, the ear infection and being run down, she has wound up in the hospital. Hopefully she'll be out today, but I am not going to be surprised if it's tomorrow (which it's looking like it's gonna be). She's pretty much had a constant fever since last weekend, and until yesterday, hadn't eaten anything since Thursday. Thank the gods she's improving. So I spent the weekend taking care of her and her cats as well as being the contact person for her family and friends since until yesterday she wasn't even able to look at her phone without feeling woozy. |
aww... I hope your love will get well soon. Sounds very tired... :(
*hugs Bilbo* |
Thanks Maeve. She's been mostly sleeping for the last week and a half, and she still is, although she sounds better than she did.
|
Well, as long as she will get well , rest is always needed~
|
Oh wow - so glad it's not the horrible version - but still scary. http://premium.2.forumer.com/html/em...m/grouphug.gif

Every kind of illness could actually bring to death if you don't take care of it properly. :<
|
I hope she keeps improving Jessi. Shows what that assistant that said it was all in her head knew doesn't it.
|
Thanks for all the well-wishes everyone. El is improving, but it's pretty slow going due to the beating her body's taken from all the different illnesses and stress.
There is a little more detail in the Purkle Couch thread over in the Menewsha Nation forum if anyone wants to know more--I don't' want to A) bore you all to tears be being repetitive or B) spam up the boards. |
lol. that is good news. lol.
|
It really is good news, thanks Maeve
|
Glad to hear she's improving and she's in my prayers.
|
Everyone here is so kind, it's nice knowing that there are people out there that I technically don't know from a hole in a wall that are so supportive and loving.
|
Love and support are two of the best medicine you can give someone when they are down and out. Hope she gets better soon.
|
Thanks Queen. It's been tough, but I'd rather be a little worn down if it means being able to be with her as much as possible. Yeah the commute from her house to my work sucks, and I'm not getting as much sleep as I should since I'm at the hospital till late, but I can sleep this weekend and once she's out of the hospital because she'll be staying with me until she's fully recovered.
|
That's good to hear that she will be well taken care of. She's very lucky to have you.
|
So does Bilbobo have more time to herself now? DX did Bilbobo rest?
