How awesome...doubt that I will ever have nieces or nephews. It will basically be me having kids since the older one doesn't want any and the younger shouldn't have them. Poor things won't have any blood cousins.

I'm pretty sure here you have to be married to foster kids and my living arrangements wouldn't permit it. As for adoption, I really just can't afford it. I do believe you need to be married for that too.

Not always. Had a friend that was adopted by a single parent. *shrugs* Every state and town is different.

Roo- I don't think you have to be married for fostering or adopting. And I believe the state also pays you some each month if you decide to foster a child. But I could be wrong. I briefly looked into it a while ago when we were having issues with one of the coastie moms neglecting her daughter in housing.
