*runs through* Im here, Im here!! Im alive!!!!! Queenie, you made my night, I miss you too, and I really should make more effort to stop by. But alas I have been sucked in by Facebook, and its hold is strong. I promise to stop in here at lease once a day from now on.
I took the girls to the library today. I was so excited thinking I was going to find all kinds of ass kicking vampire like books (vampires/supernatural smutty novels are my current brand of heroin, I cant put them down!!) Boy was I disappointed!! The shelves are half bare and they have no more paperbacks. I couldnt make heads or tails of their organizational skills :( |
I'm not wondering if they aren't doing some reorganizing. It seems the last couple times I've been in there they have been moving stuff around. Who knows.

Other people be damned, there are those of us that still care. :hug: Have you read the Women of the Otherworld Series? That's a good series. First book is called Bitten. If that series doesn't do it for you, there is always the Southern Vampire series with Sookie Stackhouse as the main character. Very intriguing stuff. *twitches* Bought the latest book in hardcover cause Amazon gave me a great pre order discount. If you can do it...amazon is the way to go for good books, cheap. Tara and I bought this cheap $25 vinyl swimming pool from Kmart. Probably the best money we've ever spent. Easy to put up, take down and just relax in for a few hours. Even got a cover for it, since Southern California has been placed under a water restriction thingy. |

Both series have like 9 or 10 books in them now, so it will take her a little time to get through them. Well, lets hope so.

I actually reserved the first 4 in the Southern Vampire series, they are currently all out so Im twitching impatiently waiting for them to come in. I heard they made them in a series on HBO, and the second season is due to start soon. So I wanted to read the books to see what its like.
I absolutely LOVE Sherilyn Kenyon's Dark Hunter series - I came across those by pure luck. My cousin gave my mom box upon box of book, and most of the series was in there. Ive had to buy one and get 3 or 4 others from teh library, but let me tell you - they grab you from the first page, pull you in and dont let go until you finish. Another good one Ive started is the series of the Black Dagger Brotherhood by JD Ward (or is it JR Ward?? Its one or the other). 6 books so far, Ive read the first 3 and have to wait until I can afford to get them from Amazon because the library doesnt have anymore of them. Some one also suggested the Carpathian vampire series by Christine Feehan, but I cant find those in any library in the area. So if I really want to give them a try I need to buy them, and there are over 20 in that set so far. Its the dark series I believe. I did check out a Stephen King book - Lisey's Story - and 2 Iris Johanassen and a Mary Higgins Clark, so I wont be too bored at night. I will have to check out that other series you recommended :heart: Trust me Queenie if a book is good, I can devour it in less than a day. I read Harry Potter 7 in 5 hours - Im a total book geek :D |
