Rue, for whatever it's worth, I survived forty just fine. You will too. I don't feel really any different than I did at 20, only I have more experience with "life" now. And I'm probably in better shape than I was then! :P

I think my jaw hit the floor and stayed there for like 10 minutes. Apparently there has been discord within the band but from what I understand they were hopeful it could be worked out. Joe Perry didnt even know Steven was talking about quitting till it hit the internet. Im stunned - those guys have been together for what, like 30 years? Close to it at least

Yeah, they've been together for an eternity. Heard on the radio that Aerosmith will be looking for a new lead singer while Steven Tyler is gone. Sorry, but no matter who you put up there, it will never be Aerosmith.
Just like Journey is not the same with that new guy they have. I've heard him sing and while he might sound like Steve Perry, but he will never be Steve Perry and the band doesn't have the same feel to it anymore.

Yeah, and Steven Tyler probably has more money than God. I'd quit too and enjoy the rest of my life doing other things!

I like the new guy with Journey, although you're right, he's no Steve Perry.

There are certain songs that you can tell he is just not that comfortable with singing them. heard him perform at the super bowl last year and he just was crap. His R's had that L sound ring to them and it drove me crazy.

Wow, that's amazing about Steven Tyler...but he has been sick too. It's sad that Aerosmith is going to be looking for a replacement--they should just leave well enough alone.

Perhaps they should just recognize when their run is at an end. They haven't put out a new cd in a few years. Not since Armageddon have they had a hit single.

I think all the drugs and alcohol have taken their toll on all of the Aerosmith members. Kind of like the Rolling Stones, surprised some of those guys are still around considering how much partying they did in their youths.

I agree. They should leave well enough alone. I'm sure they all have more money than God. It's almost like when Metallica sued Napster. I mean, why? You already have more money than you'll ever be able to spend in your entire lives. Geez. Greed.
