Yeah~ I love those too. I wish every dream was that helpful or nice~
|
Hey again everyone!
I try to be optimistic, but am probably more cynical myself D: I've never had a dream that helped me solve a problem before, that must be cool! I have had dreams where I have gotten stuff that I really like. I also have dreams where I do something around my house and it feels so real that when I wake up I think I actually did do that xD |
@ Platinum: Yeah, I do wish all my dreams were so nice and helpful
@ M i n u x e: It is pretty cool. When I started having them I was kind of confused but now I'm used to them and love it when that happens. It saves me a lot of aggravation. I think it's because my mind is preoccupied with the problem at hand. So when I go to sleep it starts to solve it for me and I have a dream about it. The mind is so cool at times. I've never had those types of dreams. It must be frustrating thinking that you did something and when you wake up to find that you didn't actually do it. |
O I see, that does save you lots of trouble.
Ya it is amazing what your mind can do. Recently, I only really remember my dreams during the first few minutes after I wake up. Once I get on with my day and start thinking of what I have to do I completely forget about the dream I had D: O really? Ya it can be troublesome. One time I told my parents I finished a chore around the house when I actually didn't because I only dreamed that I did :gonk: |
Unless I have a very vivid dream then I usually start to forget about it also after I wake up. I find if I want to make sure that I remember the dream then I have to write it down right away. I used to keep a notebook by my bedside table because I actually wanted to remember my dreams. Sadly I don't do that any more. I don't even remember why I stopped doing it in the first place.
That's pretty funny. |
O I see. Ya I have heard of many people that do that too. I know it would definitely help me remember my dreams. Although most of them are unimportant anyways xD
I used to have more vivid dreams as a child, so I remember quite a few ones I had many years ago. Now I have very few vivid dreams ><;; |
I wonder what makes dreams less vivid? I've always been fascinated by dreams. They're so interesting and say a lot about a person.
|
I used to remember almost all my dreams when I was young and some of them were doozies. Now I still have some vivid dreams but I don't remember all of them the way I used to.
|
That seems to be the consensus here. That dreams were far easier to remember as a child than they are as you grow older. I honestly wonder why that is?
|
Hmm... I don't know what causes a dream to be vivid. Although I do know that in the past few months most of my dreams were about my and my friends doing nothing too crazy in particular ;P
That is pretty much why I don't remember them, other than the fact that my friends and I were in it. I even remember dreams where I was not in it at all, which is odd xD I am going to watch some anime now, c'ya guys! |
I seem to really remember the dreams that don't include me in them at all. Lately I'm having more of them. They seem like a story or a movie that I'm watching because sometimes they involve people that I've never met and places that I've never been to. My mind must be bored or something. xD
Well, have fun. |
Our neurons fire more quickly when we're young?
Young people are gifted with fluid intelligence, which is knowing/remembering something faster, but as one gets older we gain crystallized intelligence, which means one will know and remember more, if a bit slower. Also: I find that I can remember the meaningful dreams better. Sometimes dreams are just a random firing of neurons, and while you're dreaming, your brain is putting the day's things in order, so you may not remember the dream, but you remember some of the ideas. |
Wow, you seem to know a lot about dreams and the brain. That's neat. All of that does make sense though. It's all very interesting.
|
My Psychology teacher would be proud, I hope. I also happen to know a good deal about sexual motivation, but let's not get into that one LOL
During that class I also found out why sometimes we wake up but can't more or open our eyes properly no matter how much we want to. During REM (rapid-eye-movement) sleep our body will paralyze itself so that we won't act on our dreams, because our dreams are pretty intense even if we can't remember them later. If someone is having a dream and they're thrashing about, then they're in non-REM sleep. Their body isn't paralyzed, but the dream isn't intense, and so all they do is sort of move around. |
LOL I guess we shouldn't get into that. xD
That's really interesting. I always wondered why I couldn't move or open my eyes at times. It used to really scare me because it happened quite a bit but as I got older it stopped happening to me. Which I was quite happy about. It still happens every now and then but it's very few and far between. This is all really interesting. |
Haha~ It's pretty freaky, but at least now we know it's for our own protection.
Oh hey, page 100. I just noticed~ |
The body does seem to have a lot of safe guards in place. That's pretty awesome.
Yeah, you did reach page 100. That's a lot of pages. |
LOL I was keeping an eye out for the page in the morning, but now it just happened and I was clueless~
|
Doesn't that always seem to happen though? As soon as you stop paying attention then it happens. Well, congrats on the 100 page mark.
|
Yup!
It's happened to me with music too. I wait for a song and when it comes I've already stopped paying attention. And thank you~ |
Haha. That's pretty funny. I do that at times also.
|
Congrats on 100 pages!
I'm like that too. XD Then at the end of the song, I suddenly realize: "darn, I was waiting for you!", then play it fom the start again. XD |
Doesn't that stink?
Oh, and ReiRei http://i222.photobucket.com/albums/d...eiyukacopy.jpg *runs away* |
Wow! Very pretty art. I love the colors.
|
Aw, thank you!
