Well as good of a mark I can get at math v________v
Ya I know that strategy is a good one. Although I find that particularly for math I have difficulty gathering my train of thought if I stop a question and move on to another one. If I do stare at one for too long it does just annoy me and take me nowhere so I move on when that's the case.
Oh ya! I forgot that you guys have your summer break around this time because it's dry season. I should remember that since my cousins would be on break right now xP
It must be like 40C now then D:

- dances with Sera -
:rofl:

Sera 03-06-2009 02:50 AM

Yey! I got a partner! *turns up music, changes lights and really starts to party*

Rylynne 03-06-2009 10:01 AM

Well, true... >.>;; It IS Math. D8
B-But... you can stay positive...? xDDD;;

And really? =O Normally, I take down so much notes of my solutions that when I go back to them, I'm still fine. ^^;; But then, I also don't normally start on a problem but leave it for another problem. xDD;; Math is annoying overall though. D:< </3

And YES, IT'S SOOO HOT OVER HERE. D8 No joke. It's not even nice and warm heat. It's OMFG HEAAATTT. ;^;
I think I got darker just walking under the sun, seriously. >^>;;

M i n u x e 03-08-2009 04:44 PM

@Sera: Yupyup we are partners!!!
Sweeeet my thread fully looks like a party hall now :rofl: <33333

@Rylynne: Ya I can. At least the fact that the universities only take one of the two math courses I took alleviates some pressure. If I suck at calculus that much I can just submit my other math mark from last semester.
Oh well usually when I leave one question for another one its because I am seriously stuck on it so I barely know where to even start :gonk:
Ahhh I can sort of understand since I went there during July and August twice. It's like life draining heat!
Woah how intense D:
Run back to the AC room now!!! xDxD

Rylynne 03-09-2009 10:23 AM

Ohh, that sounds awesome indeed. =O We have something like it, but not exactly. xDD;; Because the entrance exams for colleges/universities occur during your senior year, they only count your grades from first year high school till around the first quarter or first trimester (depends on your high school system xDD). :3 So, after that, you can just throw everything away and get very low grades, just as long as you do enough to pass high school, and you're all right from there. xDD;; <3<3

And ohh, I see, I see. =O I wish I could stab problems like that. ;_; No, literally, I sometimes want to stab the words and numbers of the problem I'm solving when I don't get it. D:<

And oh, you haven't felt HEAT until you go here from March-May. THEN you can say that you've experienced Philippine heat at full force. xDDD;;

And yes, it is that intense. ;_;
I am in an air-conditioned room right now, luckily~ :3 <3<3
I hardly leave these rooms anymore, since all I'm doing is studying and using my laptop anyway. 8DD;; <3<3

M i n u x e 03-10-2009 12:59 AM

Ya it is awesome. Universities only take your top 6 marks from grade 12 but certain programs require certain grade 12 courses so the mark you get in that particular course is looked at.
Oh so in your system the marks in your senior year aren't counted since you just take that entrance exam. It's nice that they take the marks from your first year because that year is really easy xD
Was the entrance exam tough? I am always scared by entrance exams and feel so lucky that I don't have to deal with that!

Lolol! I am envisioning you sitting in your desk during a test where everyone is quiet and then suddenly violently stabbing your paper xD

Ya I know that those are the hottest months there. I don't think I ever want to experience that though :gonk:
I am lucky that I am only free to go there during the slightly cooler months of July and August.

Hah ya you would only ever want to be around AC anyways. Are you just studying for general tests and stuff or is it for exams?

Rylynne 03-10-2009 09:00 AM

Ohh, I see, I see. =O At least you get to choose your highest marks to submit then. =P That's really nice for your benefit then, I presume? :3
And, well, it's not like they don't count your senior year entirely. =O They only count the first quarter or trimester of your senior year. :> It depends on when the entrance exams of said colleges and universities are. =O Yeah, we have separate entrance exams for places here. ^^;;
And actually, my first year was my adjustment year, so, my grades weren't as high as I had hoped. 8DD;; I did really well in my second and third year though, for which I am thankful for. 8DD;;

And here? =O Umm, I took for the top 4 universities only, and yeah, they were hard. x_x;; But some of them accept more readily than others, so, I got into my first choice in all the tests I took. 8DD;; Of course, I chose the national university though, since, it's more prestigious. ^^;; I mean, I'm part of the 3,000 that passed out of the 80,000 that took the test, so it would be a waste not to take the opportunity, noh? 8DD;; <3<3

And LOLZ. xDD;; Hey, I'm a good girl. 8DD;; I stab it in my imagination, yes. ^^;;
Reminds me of a time I was taking a math test, and I forgot to put my phone on silent. My ringtone is Austin Powers going "You got mail, baby, yeah~" And it rung SO loud during the exam, and everyone was looking at me. 8DDDD;; For some reason, my professor didn't notice, so, good for me? xDD;; My seatmates for the exam though were looking at me all weird and stuff. ^^;;
Funny story~ 8DD;;

And it may be hot, but it's really nice weather when you want to go to the beach. :3 Now THAT is something you should experience. 8DD;; <3<3

And me? Umm, for everything. ^^;; I have something important to do every week (a.k.a. exams, projects, and etc), so, yeah. 8DD;; It's only less than a month before the semester ends, so I'm real busy. @[email protected];;

M i n u x e 03-12-2009 02:55 AM

Woot long post and nice read ;D

Ya it really benefits me to have my top six marks submitted in. Our university system is so easy and great.
Oh I see. School in the Philippines is way tougher than what we have here. Pretty much education in most places in Asia is a lot tougher than here in America. I was told by some people that my first year of high school would be a big adjustment but I found it to be an easy transition and did pretty well for the fact that I didn't try particularly much. I've had around the same average for the first three years of high school. This year I definitely tried more so I was able to get it up 3-ish percent.

You are definitely smart to have gotten into UoP because I am aware of how extremely competitive it is. Both my cousins applied to it and they both didn't get in and now they are attending Ateneo university.

LOLOL! That is a seriously funny story but extremely embarrassing right at the moment. It is great that your prof didn't hear it though. I find it odd that there are so many times where the whole class hears a phone ring but the teacher doesn't.
Just last week in calc class I didn't know my phone was still on and it rang while we were reviewing for a test the next day. My desk is right in front of the teacher's desk so she heard but she didn't confiscate it.

I have experienced going to a beach in the Philippines! It was stupendous <33333333
I went into the South China Sea I believe. I love wading and seeing the tropical fishes around my feet.

Oh I see then. Best of luck with all the things you have to do! At least after that you are done with it and can enjoy a nice break <3

Roachi 03-12-2009 03:40 AM

Whoa, walls of text 0_____0 xDD.
Now i know how people feel when they walk in on my walls of text xP

M i n u x e 03-13-2009 02:17 AM

Lolol :rofl:
Text walls sure are intimidating!
But if you only pay attention at a word at a time it's not bad at all.

Rylynne and I are just chatterboxes xD

Rylynne 03-13-2009 09:59 AM

@ Minnie Mouse : Hoorah for long posts that earn you goldies along with good conversations? xDD;; <3<3

And yeah, I have heard of the same thing from friends who went abroad. =O Most, if not all of them, became honor students and were at the top of their classes when they went to school there in the US. ^^;; Makes me wonder why though, since supposedly educational opportunities is better there? xDD;; I find it funny though. =P No offense meant, of course. =O

And aww, thankies. ^^;; I try to maintain this standard I hold myself in, since I want a good life for myself in the future. xDD;; Currently, my goal is to at LEAST be able to buy Starbucks at least twice a day while still being able to pay my bills. 8DDD;; Oh, and I want to be rich enough to have shopping money. xDD;;
*sigh*
I might be dreaming too much though. 8DD;;

And yeah, I know, right? =O Maybe it's a teacher thing? Most of the time, it's possible that they just ignore it, or they're too caught up in whatever they're teaching so passionately about? ^^;;
And lolz! You got busted~ =P But at least your teacher was nice enough not to confiscate it. :3 <3<3

And YES, isn't it? 8DD;; I find our beaches one of our country's redeeming characteristics, since right now everything is crappy and stuff. xDD;;
And oohh, did you get to try snorkeling and scuba-diving? :3 Scuba-diving is the best. =P <3<3

And aww, thankies for the luck. :3 And yes, I'm hoping for a nice long break. xDD;;
... even though I have summer classes. @[email protected];;

@ Chi : LOLZ! xDD;; Well yes, I agree with Minnie that we're chatterboxes indeed. ^^;; I'm extra chatty though, lately, since I have ongoing text walls with... four people? 8DD;; Yep. xDD;; <3<3

M i n u x e 03-13-2009 04:27 PM

Ya people who transfer to schools here from good schools in Asia always do extremely well! My good friend transferred from a good school in Hong Kong to my high school in the middle of grade 9 and she always gets high marks, not the top three in our grade but still very high.
Well educational opportunities is better here in the sense that every child has the opportunity to go to a decent school for free. Over in the Philippines you need to be wealthy to go to a good school because the public schools are bad.

Well that doesn't seem too ambitious to me, I am confident you can pull it off! Do you regularly go to starbucks now? I am glad I am a tea person and not a coffee person because tea is SO much cheaper xD
- drinks more honey lemon tea -

Ya I think that is why there are many times when they don't notice the thing. Too many tings to pay attention to. Sadly my teacher wasn't really focusing on anything when my phone rang so she noticed right away. Many teachers in my school are lenient when it comes to cell phones. If we shut them off right away they don't take it from us. However if they see us texting or playing games on it they obviously take it away.

Oh yes the beaches there are breath-taking! I only wish I had enough time to go beach hopping. Since my family pretty much lives with our relatives when we go there we have to wait until they are free for us to go to the beach.
Sadly I haven't had the chance to do either one of those yet. It would be a dream come true to go snorkeling in the Philippines <3333333
I really wished I had a simple net when I was in the beach so I could try and scoop up tropical fish and get a closer look at them. Although I doubt I would have really been able to catch any because they are damn fast xD
One thing I did do was catch a bunch of hermit crabs and I found some with really nice shell designs.

Awww summer classes. How long do those last? At least those won't be anywhere near as stressful as your current classes!

Bartuc 03-14-2009 03:26 PM

Kinmotsu is taking offers on his mask. =)

Rylynne 03-15-2009 03:39 AM

Really? That's awesome for your friend then. :> He seems like a real smart student then. =P
And ohh, I see, I see. =O I guess that's true that public schools are waayy better there than over here. :x Especially since the government keeps lowering the budget for education for some strange reason. >.>;;
*sigh*
Such a depressing topic. xDD;;

And yeah, I'm a coffee addict. 8DD;; It's at a point wherein coffee doesn't keep me awake anymore, and I only drink it for the flavor. ^^;;
BUT, what sucks is that I was just diagnosed with accumulated hyperacidity yesterday when I went to the doctor. >.>;; So, I'm banned from my precious java for TWO WEEKS. D8 Oh, the pain. ;^; And sadness. ;^; And depravation. ;^; </3

And, well, it's understandable on the teacher's part to take away cellphones when you're using them instead of listening to class. ^^;; Back in my high school, we weren't allowed to bring cellphones to school. D: At least now in uni, I'm free to text in class and stuff~ xDD;; Of course, better if you hide it from the professors. =P But generally, uni is SO much more lenient. ^^;;

And ohh, really? =O Beach hopping is awesome. :> Sometimes, my family takes road trips and we go from one beach to another for a few days. 8DD;; No internet, sadly, but I can handle a few days of beach hopping without internet, since beaches are that awesome. xDD;; <3<3
*is a beach bum*
xDD;;
<3<3

And oohh, you should definitely try those two out! =O <3<3
Especially scuba-diving. I recommend it a lot. >8] You'll definitely gain a newfound appreciation for the ocean and everything that lives in it when you do. =P
*is also a certified scuba diver*
xDD;;
<3<3
Even though my license has expired and I haven't had the time to renew it. ^^;;

And oohh, that sounds cool. :3 I love collecting sea shells. We get the strangest and most interesting designs over here. 8DD;; <3<3

And yeah, thankfully they won't be so stressful, since it's just volunteer work, to put it simply. ^^;; And, umm, they last majority of the summer, but not everyday and the whole day, thankfully. =P So, they're very much manageable. xDD;;

@ Bartuc : Aww, you're so nice to inform Minnie~ =P <3<3

Roachi 03-16-2009 10:13 AM

@Nae - I now know why people back out of my threads, when it comes to text walls xD.

Rylynne 03-16-2009 01:05 PM

Lolz! xDD;; Well then, now it seems as if you got a taste of your own medicine? =P <3<3

Rosebleed 03-16-2009 07:07 PM

Ohh! Min has a gorgeous avatar at the moment :heart:

Suona 03-16-2009 11:42 PM

Minuxe! :O
I haven't talked to you in quite some time. D:

How have you been? :)

Rylynne 03-17-2009 09:22 AM

Minnie Mouse isn't around today? =O I wonder if she's busy... :< <3<3

Roachi 03-17-2009 09:50 AM

@Nae - Yuss a very big dosage xD

Rylynne 03-17-2009 10:44 AM

Heeyy, our text wall isn't THAT long. xDD;; <3<3

Roachi 03-17-2009 11:18 AM

Noo of course it isn't xP

Rylynne 03-17-2009 01:57 PM

Are you mocking me? ;_; </3
xDD;;

M i n u x e 03-21-2009 09:22 PM

AHHH! So many posts to read xDxDxDxD
Let me reply to an easy one for now.

@Bartuc: Hey! Ya I am aware that he is. I don't have enough on me for a reasonable offer so that's why I didn't make one on his.

@Rylynne: Ya she is definitely smart! Aw damn they do?! That is so insensible... It is depressing because a solid education sets you up for a good life.

O wow. Although I would expect that to happen after you drink it for so long.
I never heard of that condition before, but it would definitely be hard to stay away from your coffee for so long! Do you have something to replace it so you don't feel too deprived?

Not even allowed to have them?! That is really inconvenient for when you have to tell your parents you are going somewhere during the school day. University will definitely be very different because there are less rules. It doesn't even really matter if I show up to lectures in university and they don't care if you are eating or texting. I hear that the prof doesn't acknowledge or notice you anyways.

Wow that is so sweet!!! My cousins did that with their family once too. You definitely wouldn't miss the internet when you're surrounded by such a picturesque scenery.
Well if I ever get the time and money I will try to take scuba diving lessons. Although my swimming skills aren't really strong.

Ya there are so many seashells of different designs and sizes over there! Even if you don't get into the ocean you still have lots of fun just searching for pretty seashells. I remember I also picked up a starfish and played around with it a bit.

@Roachi: Lolol ya text walls are intimidating! After not being in here for a few days seeing those large text walls took me back for a small moment xD

@Rose: Thaaanks <33333
Your outfit is cute and colorful! I just noticed that you have that Georgia tech shirt. You are the only person I have seen with it on so far.

@Suona: Hey!!! I'm fine. I was enjoying my spring break for the past week and now it is coming to an end so I am doing school work before school starts up again.

The reason why I wasn't around for the past few days was that I was going out a lot with friends. Doing that just made my break speed by ><

Rylynne 03-22-2009 01:58 PM

Yeah, they are. =O We have one of the lowest budgets for education in the world even. >.>;; It's always a constant reason for rallies and stuff. :x Well, can't blame the people though, since the government doesn't need to decrease the funds from education of all places. There's other sectors in the budget that they can get from. =|

And yeah, I've been drinking it for that long. ^^;; Started when I was around 6 or 7 years old. xDD;;
And the condition basically says that there's too much acids in my stomach, and because I wasn;t eating enough or I would sometimes skip meals or I ate too many acidic foods (coffee, citrus, etc), the acid in my stomach shot up by a lot and started eating at it. D: Nothing serious, since we caught it early, but it could potentially be dangerous, especially since hyperacidity runs in the family. :x
No worries though, I can still eat acidic foods and stuff, but I just have to make sure I can moderate myself well, else the acid levels in my tummy shoot up again. >.>;;
And right now, I'm a lot healthier, cause I keep eating fruits. xDD;; Apples are a good replacement for coffee, since it's proven to keep you awake more than coffee, and also cause it's healthier. I'm managing well though. :> <3

And yeah, we weren't. >.>;; But that's cause we were a private school, and most of us (including me xD) got picked up by drivers and/or our parents. :3 We brought our phones to school anyway, so, didn't matter as much as long as you didn't get caught. xDD;;

And that's true. Uni is a LOT more lenient. =P Of course, there's the occasional strict professors, but yeah, definitely a lot freer than high school. 8DD;;

Yeah, the atmosphere in beaches is very picturesque indeed. :3 <3<3
And pfft, you don't need to be a strong swimmer to scuba-dive, even if it is preferred. =P Underwater, you mostly float and stuff, so as long as you can push your legs towards places, you're good. 8DD;;
I'm not a strong swimmer myself anyway. =P

And aww, poor starfish. xDD;; I don't like touching them for some weird reason. >.>;; It's why I stick to shells. ^^;; <3<3
