Ya I hope so too. I went to the lecture yesterday and there are only around 22 people in the class! Everyone there seems 'normal', like the range of people I see in my other small tutorials. The one odd thing was that there wasn't any discussion during the lecture like I thought there would be but that is probably because the prof is behind.

Lolol I see. Ya you really can't stay awake if your whole body wants to sleep because your eyes just get too heavy to keep open. Wow that is a very short nap, it must only be a few minutes long!

Why would freshmen usually take such early classes??

Well that date is fast approaching. My first year of university is going by so fast. ><;;

O I see, I have one lecture building that has plugs on the walls near seats.
Lol on the pillars so then is that lobby just filled with pillars?? All the big lecture rooms I sit in are just plain big rooms with chairs and walls.

@ Minnie Mouse : Seems like you'll make some friends there then. :'D <3<3 And yeah, maybe that's why? My professors tend to rush as well when they're behind on the lectures. ^^;;

And exactly! D: Also, my naps go like this, for example:
First, lecture. Nap during that. Wake up in time for end of lecture. Answer a question or two posed by the teacher. Sleep again. Wake up to hear some parts of discussion. Sleep again. Repeat for a couple times for around 30-40 minutes (give or take xDD). Wake up fully now. Answer some more, especially questions requiring opinions. Class ends. Yup. 8DD;;;

And it's because freshmen usually decide to start early and end super early (aka 11:30 to 1pm). Also, the only 7am classes offered are the general classes. 8DD;; So normally it's the freshmen who take most of those, as older batches are busy taking their majors.

And ahh! D: How has your first year been so far then? XP <3<3

And I see~ =O
Also, there aren't, like, a gazillion pillars, LULZ. xDD;; The place is big, so it has a couple pillars supporting it. I think there's also some sockets and stuff on the walls in between the pillars (since the pillars are situated far away from each other, mostly). So, yeah. ^^;;

I was thinking the same thing the other day, Min . . . this year of uni is going by extremely fast, and I know my first one did. I just get myself so caught up in all the work that when I finally get a chance to breathe, it's finally just THERE and done with, you know? This semester's already begun to kill me, and I've only been at it less than a month. Aiii.

I hope all's well with you though! I thought about you the other day cause someone was talking tennis with me, and I remember our tennis chats. n_n

Hey Rose! Well it is easy to type post walls when it is just 1 on 1. =D
I am well, thanks. Are you also doing well?
Thanks for dropping by as well it is much appreciated! <333

@Rylynne: Well it seems like the people in that class are quiet for the most part and there are 2 groups of people that are friends.
Lolol, it's funny how you can still answer the prof's question after sleeping through a lot of the material. I guess that you do prepare for each of your lectures in advance? I know we are supposed to do that but I can't see how that is possible because I suck at time managing. D:
I also reach a point during the lecture where I wake up fully and stay awake until the end. It just seems like my body doesn't need to nap anymore which is great. xD
O I see, that makes lots of sense then. All my classes are general ones as well. I can't wait for next year when I don't have to take calculus and shouldn't have to take chemistry!

Well university is nice and I like the new experiences. I just wasn't ready for the huge leap in workload and difficulty. The tests are much harder than highschool ones. Putting aside academics I think I adapted to other parts of university well.

Lolol ok, I shall put the image of a pillar-filled room out of my mind now. xD

@Wendy: Hey! <3333
Ya I can't believe how fast it is, there is only 2 more months left of actual classes and 1 month set aside for exams! It's insane. @[email protected]
I remember in highschool I would come out of Christmas Break knowing that things are starting fresh because we had two semesters so the workload would start small and grow. In university, however, the workload just hits you when you come back from break.
I hope you can soldier through this semester and do well. ^^
O wow really?! I don't even remember talking about tennis with you. D: D:
I always love it when you drop by.

I hate that I am ignoring Mene so much because of uni. =_=
At least a couple days ago when I got on to see what this month's CIs were I got a trade from Vicky with one of her strawberry cookies in it. I thought I was just some extremely lucky person to get it but I found out that she gave it to people that gave feedback on the Christmas event. xD
It's such a nice thing for her to do, I am glad I can cross that item out on my quest!
Ok now back to all the reading I have to do. Byeee everyone!

I see~ =O <3<3 Any luck chatting up the people there then? :3

And me?! Prepare in ADVANCE?! o_o;; In my dreams, lololz. xDD;; Well, when we're required a reading, I do read it. But, voluntary researching in advance for a topic when it's not required is something I never do. >.>;; Far too lazy and busy for that. ^^;; So, I guess the answer is that no, I don't prepare in advance unless I shall fail or whatever if I don't. xDD;;
And no worries, time management is learnt through experience. >.>;; I learned that the HARD way. x_x;; </3

And wow, lucky! xDD;; I only get that when I've napped enough, which is almost never, so, yeah. xDD;; And usually, at least half the class has gone by. >.>;; See my earlier schedule, and, yeah. xDD;;

And woot for that then~! :'D <3<3

Also, yeah, the workload shift must be evident. :x I guess the adjustment was easier for me though (and most of my schoolmates who go to the same university as I do and come from the same high school) because we were VERY stressed during our senior years already. xDD;; When first year college came along, we were like, "Oh, we can so do this! We've handled MUCH worse." xDD;;
Not meant to brag, of course. :x I just find myself very fortunate that we were forced to work so much during high school that the transition was made easier. ^^;; It can be surprising though when my new university friends are all like, "I have to pull an all-nighter! How sad! I've never had to do such a thing!" and I'm like, "Ermm, I did that a lot in high school, so it's no big deal." ^^;; Although, all-nighters aren't something to be bragged about, I guess. >.>;; </3

I'm glad you've adapted to the other parts of university though~ :'D <3<3 University life is more than just academics, after all. ^^

Lolz, if you say so then. xDD;; <3<3

Yes, Vicky did give us all a strawberry cookie for giving feedback. I now have two, haha. n_n; I'll probably be saving it for a bit then hopefully trading someone for another SNG that I don't have.

There's about two more months after this one that I have to deal with before exams, too. My last real day of classes in the last week of April, then I have exams the first week of May and I am FREE for the summer after that. Workload really does just kill you immediately after break since it's mainly new classes; new semester, that sort of thing. Horrible. D:

Hoping you make it through alive and well as well, dear. <3 And here's to wishing we'll be able to talk normally again in the near future once all our chaotic schoolwork ends. <3

@Rylynne: No I haven't chatted with anyone there because I am not that type of person. ^^"
O I see, well it's good you do the required readings. My time management skills fail so badly I can't find time to do required readings for tutorials. D:
I only have one course where we hold discussions over the required readings and when discussion time comes I just wing it...
I believe majority of people learn time management the hard way, it is not in most people's nature to NOT waste time.

Well catching half the class is still good. On days that I am very tired I probably sleep through 3/4 of my first morning lecture.

Ya I have heard about how tough it is to go to school in East Asian countries. The elementary and high schools here are just a joke. It is very relaxed and you only do all the required homework if you want to get high 90s in all your subjects. Then university comes and it is so tough. T_T
I still haven't pulled an actual all-nighter because I love sleep so much. Once it reaches about 3-4am I will just give up and accept the fact that I will get a crappy mark.

@Wendy: I hope you can trade it for a different SNG later on. I would have preferred to get one of Nalin's items though, the flowers are so pretty! <333
O, so your classes last one more month than mine. Our classes end the last week of March and exams run until April 28.
The workload is horrible indeed.
I am lucky to have a week long break next week. I just must make sure that I use that time wisely. ><;;

Yes I also hope we can both become more active and chit chat on Mene afterwards.

I see~ =O Whatever floats your boat though. XP <3<3
And yeah, I don't want to be an even worse student than I am now. xDD;; Also, I'm sure you'll get better at time management! =O <3<3 I'm sure you can learn it in time. :3 Like you said, it's not exactly the most natural thing for some people. ^^;;

And lolz, same here! xDD;; Totally can relate. >.>;; One time I even slept for a class and a half. Meaning, my class was already finished and I was the last girl there. And I was late for my next class. o_o;; LOLZ. xDD;; I cut the next class and just went to an early lunch with friends who didn't have class, lulz. ^^;;

And really? =O I wouldn't call it a joke! Although, all the people I know who travel to the US always become top scoring students when they're just average over here. Which is awesome for them, of course, but I do get curious why though. ^^;;
I'm sure you can do it though! =O <3<3
And lolz. xDD;; Well, as long as you still try your best, then that's good enough, right? :'> <3<3

It's been so long since I've come in here! My excuses are that I was busy with the event, university, badminton and spending time with my family. xP

I hope that I am slowly learning from my mistakes and getting better at time management. I think it will be a slow gradual process for me and I may not notice that I am getting better at it. I do hear many upper-year students say that you do learn how to manage your time later on in university and that first years always have trouble.

Wowow really?! So the noise of other people getting up and talking didn't bother you at all?! xDxD
It's good that there wasn't another class held in that place right after. In some of the buildings I have lectures in there are classes right after and it would have been so awkward to wake up and find yourself in another class.

Well the workload is nothing compared to what is in East Asia. Did those people never tell you that they weren't doing nearly as much work?
It's hard for me to know when I gave something my best effort. I usually just link a good mark to a good effort.

Lolz, you don't need excuses! XP We totally understand~ ^^ <3<3

Yeah, it does get easier as time passes by. :x You learn to be less of a procrastinator, believe it or not. xDD;;

And nope, I was THAT sleepy, lulz. 8DD;;
And yeah, good thing indeed. That also happens over here, so I was lucky. XP And it's never happened again, so I'm thankful as well for that. Would have been so embarrassing if ever! ^^;;

Hmm? What do you mean? Also, from what I know, stuff we learned here sticks more? Like, what we commonly know here is still asked a bit in high schools there or something. I don't know for sure. I just hear the stories from friends. ^^;;

And that's true. :x But you shouldn't be too grade-conscious, else you might get depressed for the wrong reasons. :x

Ahhh my thread was on page 4!! That's pretty crazy.
Well I am glad that this week is done with because I had a hard math test yesterday.
Now I just need to write an essay that is due next week and start writing a 5000 word essay due near the end of the month. D:

I can believe that people learn how to procrastinate less later on in their studies. If you continue to procrastinate as much as you do when you just start university you will probably not graduate from your program.

Hahah I see, you are very lucky then. Well I guess the fact that you haven't done that again means that you subconsciously know that it is bad to sleep for that long in class.

Well I mean that we don't receive as much homework as you do. Also, our tests aren't as frequent and as comprehensive.
I think the reason that what you learn sticks more is because you have more homework to do which makes you practice the concepts more. We only do a small handful of questions on each topic so we don't remember them as easily.

I am not that grade-conscious compared to the people around me. They make me feel like I should be more though. I think I am not that grade-conscious because I am heavily involved in badminton so I push academics out of my mind.
I can definitely see how grades can make people depressed. This is especially true in the beginning when you aren't adapted to the system and can't seem to get the grades you think you should be getting. ><

Wow, seriously?! D: That's sad! :'< But hey, you were really busy though, so don't kick yourself over the head about it! :x
And wow, so much stuff to do! D: Good luck, Minnie Mouse! >.<;; I'm sure you can do it! =O <3<3

Hey, some people work better when procrastinating though, since they're under time pressure and they're the type of people who work better when under pressure. XP So I wouldn't say that procrastinating will cause you to not pass and/or graduate from your program. xDD;;

Yeah, I guess on a subconscious level I do know. ^^;; Which is good. If only I could learn to actually NOT sleep in class though. >.>;;

I guess that's true~ =O Some schools here have homework every day. :x In my school though back then, we didn't have a lot of homework because we had lots of our own activities that "made up" for homework, basically. ^^;; Although, yeah, we do have lots of comprehensive tests, especially at the end of the school year. =\

And hey, sometimes not being so grade-conscious is good, actually. Of course, you should at least be conscious enough to pass and do your best and stuff, but having grades always in mind is kinda unhealthy, if you ask me. =\
And yeah, that's true. >.<;; </3

Hahah don't worry I am not actually upset or guilty about that. I don't feel any obligation to post here regularly when my life gets busy.

Well everyone around me either has the same sort of workload or more work. Thanks for the luck!! <333

I guess so, but personally I don't think I would get "good" marks if I procrastinated for my assignments. I do focus better when it is at the last minute because I know it is 'do or die'. xD

O I see. I remember my mom telling me that my cousin in the Philippines has 1-2 hours of homework each day and that was when she was back in grade 3 or so.
Activities? Would those be things like projects, for example making stories, posters, presentations, etc.?

Lolol ya everyone should care about passing no matter what. Although I am sad to just be passing my calculus course right now even though I know the reason why I am doing so poorly is because I outright hate calculus. I guess when I am done with it I will be glad to have finished and not need to take any more math courses but upset at my abysmal mark.
Ya I agree that it is unhealthy to only care about marks. Anyone with only academics in mind would have one depressing life.

On a random note I am so happy to get to go home for an entire weekend. This is the first weekend in many weekends that I don't have a badminton commitment on one or both of the days. =D

That's good to hear then~ :'D <3<3 Just making sure now. xDD;;

And ohh, at least you're not alone then! XP Better to have people you can relate to than none at all. ^^;; It helps, since you all can help each other out and stuff like that. :'>

Well, some people are just weird like that, I guess. xDD;; I do know someone who HAS to procrastinate, otherwise all the good ideas never come to her. And in fairness to her, she's doing quite well herself despite her bad habits. xDD;; As for me, I guess I also concentrate better when it's deadline time. ^^;;

And woah, I don't remember that at all, lulz. xDD;; Maybe in other schools? ^^;;
And hmm... it's hard to explain. =O Basically, every three weeks each subject gives you a task to do that you have to finish within three weeks. Like, for example, in History we have to make a map of something or whatever. Every three weeks a new activity is given. So that substitutes for our homework most of the time. Although, sometimes they would also pile on a ton of homework aside from those special assignment things, so, yeah, oh well. ^^;;

Aww! :'< Calculus is sucky indeed. >.>;; But, passing is not that bad a mark? :x At least, in my book it isn't. ^^;;

And woot~! :"D <3<3 Congratulations then! xDD;; Make sure to rest up a lot! XP

I should be thoroughly smacked for not paying attention to Mene at all this past month. I have been busy but not so busy that I couldn't afford to post on here. ><
I guess I just spent my free time watching videos and with friends.

Anyways my classes are basically over now and exams start next week. By the third week of April I will be free-ish since I only have one exam to study for at the end of the month. I shall make a note to start chatting here again during that time.

Basically the only reason I am posting in here now is because I received a surprise trade from the Quest Raffle account which made me update my quest. I am so thankful to get those items. I had no idea Juru was doing random things like that. xD

On a random note Calculus seriously sucks! For the past two weeks I haven't understood what the prof was talking about because I have never seen that stuff in my life and it is so different from anything I have seen before!!
I am currently going over all those notes again to jot down all the important stuff I need to memorize for the exam. It sucks that my Calculus exam is my first exam because I am very behind on my homework. D:
Getting back to reviewing now.

So... another update on my life.
I am done with three of my exams and have one more to go this coming Friday. Then after I am DONEEE!!!! Although I definitely have plans for my summer which include summer classes and a job. =D
I actually maxed out tetris today, something I haven't done in a loooong time because of university. Plus I made this funfun clown-ish outfit to celebrate the fact that the end of the year is very near.
I can see myself getting more into Mene but I still won't be as active as I have been in the past.
I really need to get my hands on an April set, I think I waited too long to get one because now it is not easy to find sellers.
These past few weeks my laptop has been really buggy and would crash on me quite often which made me reluctant to get on it. I plan to buy a new laptop this summer so don't have to be scared when I turn my laptop on. xD
