The 50% Exchange is no longer running though.
And, it is Because people abused it and tried to buy all their commons through it.
That thread was never supposed to be a shopping centre.
It's ashamed really, Mama Juru does so much and now that's happened. :(

Anyhow, I am fine with obtaining my items without 50% off.
These are not terribly expensive, but if I get help and donations, that will be splendid enough. ;)

I like to feel accomplished bu earning my way, and having this thread will help me post more, therefore gaining the gold to spoil myself XD.

I wanted someone else to say they really did get the "virgin" post after all the navigation posts.

Are YOU serious about the 5K thing? It isn't terribly hard.
I haven't bought anything since I joined, except obviously these Pyro Marks.
Which I just had to have, so I bought yesterday.
I also bought my friend the Mauve Dreams Staff she's been wanting.
I was at 6K before that purchase.

But it's all good see? Everything I Do have I earned courtesy of the Jubilee Event buds and orchids, and one donation of the sword I fell in love with when I first joined. t_t

I guess I've had it good. If you post in here, I'll do my best to keep us busy so we can earn our way up. There's a lot of gold I have to look forward to.
That list up there isn't my entire goal. There are more commons, but I didn't see the point in listing anything under 400g, when I can handle that myself - in case I am aided.

Ah, don't worry about it, I'm just adding some things to the Quest post is all.
Well, in wordpad first, then I'll bring them on over here.

The worth does seem to rise quickly here, for special items.
But I have never lost hope no matter where I go, that I could get something if I wanted it badly enough.

I am very much into vending - on Gaia. Or, I was to put it more accurately.
The inflation there has always been bad, but it wasn't so in 2005, the way it is now.
And therefore acquiring gold without posting was not a hassle.

I got enough buds to get everything I wanted from the store.
I love that we had the option to spend gold or not.
I was never going to though. It's something I easily refuse, and set my goal instead to gather as much of the event currency as possible.

I've played around with the dream avatar, but I don't get very far it seems.
Waiting for the update with new skins and eyes.
I can imagine what I'd like my character to look like, but it's essential for me to be able to create it as well.

And, I don't shop according to a dream avatar. Like I said, if I see the item, I see in my head how it will look on me, granted a preview option helps.
I only make the dream avatars really, so I have an idea of what certain items I want will look like mixed together. But it doesn't mean I'll wear it all exactly the same way once I have the items, you know?

It's almost artificial, the way they're rising. The March CI sets (headwings), there are tons of them out in the community, only everyone hoards them because no one wants to let go of them until they go higher.

I've only been here since late April, but I thought the price for the G.D. Sword was hefty even then, for something that had only come out in January of this year.

Still, I had actually made a rant [on my other account] about items you want on here, and would nearly kill to have, lol. Sure enough, Mozetti found the thread and offered me the sword. It was very shocking. I mean, I had enough at the time to pay him if he so wanted. Barely. Would have left me with nothing, but I'd have been content :P

There are some really awesome people here, all of my friends included.
And I haven't run into any rude people.
Well, maybe I have, but it's just that this person ignores me for some reason, when I talk to them. So, whatever.

I hate to see inflation eat at this place, but you know it really comes down to the maturity of the crowd I think. And I say this from being someplace else that is .. not at all like this. I believe in having more than one of an event set for instance.
But no more than five I guess. Unless, you hoard to donate, then it's a bit much.
I like a set for myself, and two or three others to vend.

Don't know how that's going to work here yet though.
I reckon I'll see once I make a Market thread.
What's your favourite colour? You may find that the look of your avatar tends to gravitate toward the hues you relate to. Start with that.
Or, think of the "look" you're wanting.

Do you like looking like a huntress, spiritual, demonic, medieval.
I tend to think along the lines of aliases in my head based off favourite anime or books or films. I use them as inspiration, but the end result is my own "genius" lol, you might say.

The caliber of people here at Mene still amazes me, and I've been on here actively since October.
There are almost no rude people on here. A few yes, but I've only met a few. Most are kind, fun-loving, and talkative. :'D <3

Playing around in the avatar generator has shown me that, along with a few commons I still have from the Jubilee event, believe it or not.

The community is definitely the reason I've come to look for more out these avatar sites, than just the items. I had a handful of friends just within the first week of joining, how awesome is that? Didn't happen like that anywhere else D<

I haven't bought anything from the market yet, but if I do, I hope it's not for too much more than the guide advises. I know on Roli there is also a group fighting inflation. [Cyraax] is behind it, along with a few others. I can't say how successful it is, for one because I don't buy plats off anyone. Second, I'm not overly active over there x_x

If you're totally bored you can make me one for fun :P

When I came back a week or two after the forum system change, I was so impressed by this place that I decided to join.
Some weeks before that, I had only come by to see what this was all about.
I originally found the avatars to be a bit weird.
Their heads aren't exactly small you know? XD
But I love it still and it's grown on me a lot. I have no problems.
Everything is organized too, though the threads still look bunchy in some areas.
That is due in part to the thread names. >.<
People going all out to make funky symbols and such.
Mine is fairly simple I think. Nothing much to it, it's not even "special" just a '\\//'.

Oh you have a Market thread?
I really ought to visit, I never go there really, save to see the price guide. ^_-

Roli does have some odd avatars I suppose.
But coming from Gaia, I thought there were brilliant.
The items are really what I stay for at this point.
Maybe it's just come down to me not preferring larger communities, though Mene is too much small than Roli.

But over there, it's just so childish to me. The threads are jokes.
I can't have the same kind of conversation I'm having with you know over there.
Unless I'm in the hangouts with my friends, who are also in these other sites with me.

I like Hair 2,6, erhm, the one I'm wearing now which I forget which is, and unisex 4 I believe - the curls.
Green is a good colour. That and blue, or red.
Maybe you can be inspired by something, looking at the items in my quest?
If you just imagine the Basic Tanks, then, that may help too.
And the Basic Leggings. They're not listed because as I said, they're not hefty.

Most people I talk to about the Roli bases, say the dislike the set of the nose.
They say it looks like it's just hanging over the lips weird.

I've always preferred a more mature look to my avatars.
Which is why I dislike the chibi distorted bases of Gaia.
Nothing against chibi in general, but it doesn't work for my character.
For all the brilliant ideas that place has, they really ought to have made the bases better, IMO.

I guess I just don't like being that little.
Can you imagine how much sexier we'd look, grown up? :insane: To die for.

There hasn't been an update in a while, so, I guess that's one reason I'm not that into messing with the avatar creator. Not that I'm rushing Caroline or anything.
She's doing a wonderful job. I just .. hm, if I want to do it badly enough, I can just copy and paste like everyone else.

These avatars are really good Winter ^.^
I'm thinking the last would look better with white, versus black.
Can't say I'm in favour of that Glammy item.
Overall I like the ideas.
The first is neat because I do actually like to wear socks/tights with a shorter skirt or those short pants - makes the avatar look.. Don't know, but really nice. Spiffy? Lol, I think that is the word. You've certainly given me areas to think about more.
