There is no really cheap things there but you can still earn gold pretty easily. Gibe this site a chance because I used to think that this site is hard to earn gold at but now I find this site really really fun. I did not believe the others when they said that gold is sort of even easy to earn here. Now I do. When you have a few hundred gold then you will see that this site is also really friendly. Have fun and the easiest way to earn gold for me is to play the games.
The games range from snake to chopper challenge. In a while you will most likely earn about 100 gold just from playing like one game. But you will have to play it for a while and not just once. the max for 1 game is 15g I think and you can earn up to 500g per day. Playing games that is. ^^

Actually, snow, there is that cheap rag dress thing at Hot Gossip you can buy if you're really just wanting to cover yourself, and that is where the cheapest clothes are overall. Also, the max per game for all the games is you can earn up to 50 gold just playing once. Gold is a bit harder to earn than on Gaia, but the items here are much cheaper than on Gaia as well. (There are no million gold items, thank goodness).
