I'm new here I guess... I've been on Gaia Online since '05, but a lot of it seems childish now... I still like Gaia and have good friends on there, but the conversations aren't deep like they used to be. I'm hoping this place will be pretty cool and also hoping I can make some pretty cool friends here ^^

Many of us are or have been Gaians. You'll probably see some ranting about Gaia, but there are also quite a few people around who still like the site. :)

I also started on Gaia as an avatar site. But after a falling out between myself and another friend, it was never the same. Gaia is too obsessed with popularity that it forgets about the people.

thank-you for your welcomes! I like the avatar style of this site. It's nice! The reason I decided to look for something else, besides everyone being childish, is because there are too many liars in gaia. I was apart of a thread for 3 days and the goal was first person to page 700 gets the demonic pendant. I was the first person there and she decided to change the rules. sigh... I don't think I'll ever stop playing Gaia, I really do like the site and the games are super fun. Plus I have so much time and whatnot invested in that site to just throw it all away. I love my avatar. (my name on gaia is the same as on here)

I agree with you on Gaia. I've been a member for a good four years now and it used to be good, but now all you get are a bunch of illiterate people that spam and always talk about Naruto and Death Note (two shows I don't really like) >< Plus a lot of Gaians are mean, rude, and impolite. So far, all the people I've met on Mene are really nice. <3

I'm glad someone else is a hater of deathnote and *shudders* naruto. I really can't stand either of those anime shows...

I like your avatar, it's really cute! Where is the best place to buy stuff when you're new to outfit your avatar, or should I wait until I have a bunch of gold saved up before I start worrying about that stuff?

I don't like the shows myself, but I do like certain characters, but that's about it. -_____-

As for shopping, from what I saw a lot of the clothes are hella expensive, but "Hot Gossip" has some cheap stuff.

I am not too fond of those two shows either, though I dislike them for different reasons. One of them just has a stupid plotline, the other has just too much illiterate fans spoiling everything about it and flaming you when you're critical about it. (Well, okay, they both have...)
But I agree, almost everyone on Mene is nice. :) Anyway, about the clothes... That kind of depends on what you want. If you like the expensive but beautiful items, I'd suggest waiting a while. If you like the cheaper items as well (and I must say, they're really nice as well) I'd suggest Hot Gossip for the basic clothes, Accentuate for the details and perhaps the tattoo shop (there are only a few tattoos, but they're well-affordable), and hopscotch for the shoes (but that's pretty much because all shoes are there, both the expensive and cheaper shoes).
Some of the other shops have nice cheaper items as well, but Emporio Pallazo (the cheapest item is 500g, most items are above 1k or even higher), Wonderland Boutique (cheapest item is 300 gold, which is affordable, but many items are higher) and Quercus Magus (everything is above 1.5k) are quite expensive.

Kill My Tragedy- I would wait until I had more gold saved up before dressing my avi. No one cares if you run around in your underwear or the most expenisve items on the site. You might as well dress yourself up however you want to and just save up for an item/the items you really like. There is a program called the Menewsha Avatar Creator that you can find in the Avatar Chat forum. It is somewhat like tektek in that you can create dream avi's on it. <3

Wow it seems to take a bit to get gold... Is there a limit to how much you can get daily?

No. There is a cap on how much gold you can get by gaming per day, but not in total.
You are allowed to have two accounts, a main and a mule, and can get maximal 500 gold per day per account by gaming, so you can get 1k by gaming.
There is no limit to how much you can get by posting, though.
