Hello all

Yes you guessed it, I'm new.

Most would call me strange but I love the way I am. I love challenging people's views on normality and beauty. I find life much more enjoyable being strange, you view the world for what it really is. I am a very Gothic person (gasp did I just embrace a label? Damn right I did!). My clothing is a mix of Victorian and Fetish. By that I mean I wear Victorian gowns and corsets, but I also wear posture collars and Victim heeled platform boots. I love my parasol and try not to go into the sun without it. I am a member of the Denver Hearse Association. I said Hearse. They are some of the most amazing cars, especially once my friends get done with them.

I am a Hedge Witch, practicing the art and science that is Witchcraft. I have been a practicing Witch for most of my life, having discovered that it was the right path for me early on in my childhood. I have studied herbalism, candlecraft, spellcraft, the Tarot and shadow work. Currently, I am studying Hoodoo. I also practice energy manipulation, astral projection and past life regression.

I am quite the enthusiast of body modification. I have several piercings, practice tightlacing and hope to soon attempt suspension. I love learning new things and tend to be a walking dictionary. I've studied psychology, cryptozoology, mythology, history, chemistry, biology and forensics.

Welcome to Menewsha! :D I'm new too.

Detarra 10-02-2008 02:10 AM

Thanks ^_^ I love your name by the way

Welcome to Menewsha Detarra!!

I've never particuarly thought of hearses are being beautiful or awesome, mostly because of their association. But to each their own! :) Have fun exploring the site!

CK 10-02-2008 05:53 AM

I love modified hearses, at least. XD I'm afraid I have the usual person's aversion to the physical dead (though not ghosts), so I'm not sure I'd be too comfortable in a 'practicing' hearse. XD;

Your lists of interests is... well... interesting. :3 (I couldn't think of a better word.) And I find that there are several things on it I am also interested in, like for instance, forensics, cryptozoology, mythology and history. :3

Welcome to Menewsha - and I hope to see you around!

The thing to makes me love them so much is that they are ALL custom made. There are no two hearses that are completely alike. When someone needs one, they send the car they want to use to a garage or company that modifies cars, cuts the back end off and then fabricate the framework needed to hold the casket table. I could ramble on about how they're made but I'll spare you ^_^

If you like modified hearses you should check out my friend's hearse. He named it Alexi.

Denver Hearse Association

Honestly you don't even think about its purpose once you're in it. I ride in the back more often than the front and writing this is the first time I've really thought about the dead being transported in it.

Ha interesting is a very good word for most of what I do.

I merged your posts for you, since double-posting is against the rules. :) Next time you've got two (or more) people/posts you want to quote and respond to, click the "multi-quote" button at the bottom of their posts, and then hit the "post reply" button. :3 It'll quote all the posts you've "multi-quoted" and is very handy. :3

But that webpage is cool! I'll have to browse through the image galleries later. :3 I must say, Alexi's a great name for a car, but somehow particularly great for a modded hearse. :3

Detarra 10-05-2008 02:05 AM

Thanks for doing that. I didn't even notice doing muli-quotes was an option.

There are some great photos in the gallery ^_^ I find myself looking through them all the time. He actually got the name for his hearse from the first Resident Evil movie. If you pause it on the subway like train they ride in, ALEXI-5000 (don't quote me on the numbers however haha).

That's a lovely style you've picked up. I've been a fan of the Victorian era dress for a while now. But I like to mix in some steampunk with it more than anything.

Ryko 10-05-2008 03:19 AM

Welcome to Menewsha. I'd be quite interested in talking to you if you have the time, you sound like someone I'd get along with. If you wanna talk or need help, feel free to PM me.

I've had a sudden fascination with steampunk. I'd love to see more people in my area experimenting with it.

Welcome to Menewsha.

I would like to say that your introduction is quite impressive. Not only does it tell me more about you than 'im new,' but it also shows me you have good grammar. And that makes me happy.

Pscycopath 10-06-2008 09:35 AM

Hello! I'm new too. Well, nice to meet you.

Thank you very much. I try to have the best grammar I can. It gives me a headache, and forces me to rant, when I read posts with either horrid grammar or internet abbreviations. One could call me a grammar-nazi, especially when it comes to my own works.

On a side note, I love your signature. Inigo Montoya is by far my favorite character in The Princess Bride.

Haha. Me, too. I try to have the best grammar I can, but sometimes I slip up. And I love to rant, too.

And yes, I love Inigo, too. *too, too, too, too, too. So many 'Too's on the same page.* It makes me sad the way they belittle him in the book.

I like the giant. He just makes me giggle. he's so big, but so soft hearted...and he has a gift of rhyme. haha. [/barges into your conversation]

I love hearing him rhyme! And nothing wrong with that ^_^ keeps the conversation going.

Anybody want a peanut?!

Yeah, I love Fezzick too, but Inigo is still my favorite.

Haha I always forget that part in the movie and it makes me crack up every time.

`Kitami 10-14-2008 11:38 PM

Welcome to Mene, Detarra. :U

I'm a big fan of Victorian dress style too. I'd wear it I think, if I could/had the money. o.o

And hearses...there are two boys here, who drive around in a hearse. It intrigues me greatly, but it creeps my mother out. xD
She's like "How can they drive in something that had dead people in it for years??"
They have a little rubber skeleton hanging from the rear-view mirror.

Anyway, feel free to come to either of the threads in my signature if you need a place to chat. :]
The first one is my quest thread and the second is my exchange thread.
And you can PM me if you have any questions about the site and I'll try to answer them. ^^

:U Are we talking about The Princess Bride?? -loves that movie-

It seems The Princess Bride is bringing a lot of people together haha ^_^

`Kitami 10-18-2008 08:18 AM

Haha! xD
I had Inigo's famous line as my only bio on my Gaia profile for ages and then I finally changed it....

I like your signature. (:
