the easiest way to earn gold is by posting in the forum and playing games. The more you participate in the community the more gold you'll get and the more items you can buy for your avitar.

you might wanna visit the faq page along with the newbie guide (located here in the fresh meat forum), there's also a newbie adoption agency which will let you be adopted by a more seasoned member who can help you learn the ropes.
