Erm, yes, hi. I'm another newbie, hello! I was recommended to this site by a friend after I lost interest in Gaia Online and so far I'm liking it. It reminds me of Gaia in its earlier years. So hopefully I'll have fun here! And hopefully I'll be able to wrangle up enough gold soon enough that I don't get arrested for public indecency.
Oh, about me I guess. I'm seventeen, actually female, and currently in the final stages of the college application rush, and I haven't filled out anything on my profile yet. I should probably go do that. I like the emoticons here. They are very cute. :sarcasm: I'm not being sarcastic, I just like this one. ETA: I just thought I'd let you all know that Chopper Challenge is very hard. |

I used to be a member of Gaiaonline as well, but I lost my liking for it. Menewsha's is a much nicer community, in my opinion. And we lack spam. Ah~ We also don't have as many complainers. *cough* Ah, the college application rush! That was me a year ago. Now I'm in the "I NEED MORE SCHOLARSHIPS FOR NEXT YEAR!!" stage. One semester of college under my belt, yay! People who say art college is easy have another thing coming to them, yes they do. Ah, but I've rambled! 17? When's your birthday? Yes, part of the reason I started disliking Gaia was because of the hostility of its members...also, all of the site features got rather convoluted and I couldn't keep anything straight. I like it when it's simple.
Are you an art major? That's really cool! I don't think that's for me but I'd love to take some art classes at least; I want to make comics eventually but the problem is I can't draw. My birthday is in November! So I'll be seventeen still for a month or so after I start college. Oh well, I'm sure there have been younger. Thank you for the links! This site seems pretty straightforward, but it's always good to have reference points. I'll be sure to look them over. And thank you, jamilee-nicole. I'm sure I will. :) |
Ah, yeah. I used to kind of like the Cash Shop, and then it got to difficult to keep up with. I was happy to help out the Gaia staff with their servers, but too much is too much. And the hostility, and the spam, and the total backlog of reports because they're so understaffed, and all these unfair things happening to people D8;
Ah well. Yeah, I'm going to go into Digital Media, to become a concept artist. My school as a neat Digital Media department. They've even got toy design. And as my teacher said, all it takes is practice. That's how I learned <3 I was definitely not born with talent. XD OH my gosh, November! I actually faded out of Gaia right when they instigated the cash shop. It's fun, yeah, but I'm not going to pay real money for what is at best a casual pastime. It actually reminds me a little bit of Neopets' downward spiral -- wow, that is going way back for me.
What would that entail, package design? I don't think I've heard of that concentration in art...but then, that's not what I'm looking at, so it could be quite common for all I know. I'm actually taking a beginning art class now, and it's a lot of fun. Late start, but better late than never and all that. We're doing the very basics though, just perspective and shading right now. It must be fate! I'm actually surprised I wasn't born in September, nearly everybody else in my family is. |
