Hi everyone! My name's Daeliriel. I am indeed an Okie, born and bred in the Sooner State. I found Menewsha through deviantART, of all places, doing a search for steampunk.
But I guess I'm supposed to tell you a bit about me now. Well, I'm a college student out here where the puddles run red. Currently, I'm a sophomore and working towards my accounting degree. (Yes, someday, I will be the person doing your taxes, lol.) I come from a huge family in eastern Oklahoma, grew up in an itty-bitty town just off the interstate, and graduated high school alongside 41 other people. We were one of the larger classes to go through my alma mater.
As far as hobbies go, I'm addicted to the Sims 2, pixel art, and ball-jointed dolls. I own far too many rubber ducks to be considered sane, and I enjoy a good role-play when I have the time, which isn't often.

Welcome Daeliriel ~~
Yay for search engines!
Lol, I love your hobbies. You know there's a ducks-in-a-row item, it's not a rubber ducky but it's pretty close.
For some reason it makes me feel better that there are such small schools left. I went to grade school in my town's original K-12 building -- though the town had grown and had many buildings since -- I can only imagine how it was then.

Thank you all for the welcome!
Guivre, I saw that item, and I plan on getting it eventually! Clothes should probably come first though. ;)
Jeanie, I used to have over 2 gigs of downloads. >.< Then I decided that all the pretties weren't worth the wait time for my 'hood to load. I'm running a chocolate-chip game now (just slightly above vanilla), mostly using maxis-match items.

Teehehe welcome....
How excited are you for when Sims 3 comes out?
I'm quite excited, I'm looking forward to the fact that your sim can freely wonder around the neighbour hood.... that's been something I always wanted from the sims XD
When I went to college for art I was in a class of 12 .... but in the first year there were only 8 of us so we were pretty close.... I can't imagine a class of 41 O_O wow.

I have almost 2.5gig of downloads for it. I would delete the ones I don't use if I knew what their file names were or if my downloads folder were in any way organised.
I can't wait for the sims 3, I'm just worried my computer won't be able to handle it. :XD

I've got all of them except open for business, that one didn't really interest me for some reason. I keep thinking about buying it but not because I want it just because it's the only one I haven't got.

Welcome to Menewsha!!
I love rubber duckies! Although I only own a couple. I should fix that.... Do you own any BJDs? I know a few people who own several and I think they're beautiful :)
I hope you have fun on the site!

fiarra: what is a BJD?
I know a place where you can get novelty duckies  they have devil ones and glow in the dark ones, flashing ones.... and they have one that's about the same size as a dog..... I don't think that one would fit in a bath though O_o

@Mazzy: BJD stands for ball-jointed doll. They're resin dolls with ball-joint articulation and highly customizable. They aren't dolls meant for kids; they're more like collectibles.
I'm pretty excited to see Sims 3 on the shelves, but I'm afraid that it won't live up to the hype. I remember the preview stuff for Sims 2, and it had so many thing that either didn't appear until several EPs later or never showed up at all. That said, though, it looks like an awesome game. I'm especially looking forward to the body types and new personality systems! =3
@Jeanie: I don't remember the link for it, but why don't you download Delphy's Download Organizer? I know you can find it on MTS2. That should help you clear out the unwanted stuff.
I keep all my downloads super organized. I'm a little anal-retentive about knowing which files are where, after the big fiery ball visible from space ate my first installation. That was back when I was on my old computer, though.
I only have University, Nightlife, Seasons, and Open for Business as far as expansion packs go. I wasn't really interested in any of the others except Pets. Now I just have other things to spend my money on.
@fiarra: Geez, at last count, I have over 60 ducks. Some of them are plushies, though. I actually ordered my first BJD a month ago come Tuesday. I'm still waiting for her to arrive.

Oh I see.... One of my friends has loads of ball joint dolls...
I was thinking of practising my sculpting to try and make her one for a surprise birthday gift, but I'm not good enough for that yet so I ended up making her a customized pony instead.... she loves it all the same though n_n
I'm looking forward to that part, though I don't see how they could be any different to what they already are....

No problem Jeanie! It's a useful little tool, right up there with SimPE in my book. I certainly couldn't do without it!
@Mazzy: I'd love to have a custom my little pony. One of these days I'll order one from somebody or get the stuff to do it myself.

Custom ponies are fun to make and surprisingly easy :3
it's good to have a rough idea on what you want to make though, I printed out a colour in page for them, drew all over it till I was happy with the design and then made it.

that was the first ever one I made... I was surprised how similar it looked to my design.... but while I was making it I added some extra details XD
if you really want to make one and need help on what to do don't hesitate to ask me :3

Oh, wow! That's really cool, Mazzy. I might try my hand at it on a school break. Hmm... Spring break is coming up soon, maybe I can make one to give my best friend as a graduation present.
Oh, and answering your siggie, you should go check out the hat store, Headworks. I know there is a pink bow and a pink flower. There might even be one of those cute little top-hats (the tiny ones, I mean) that would match.

Custom ponies are a blast -- I've bought from others and made those too! The materials are not really so bad and fun to accumulate (hair, charms, etc and of course, ponies!) It's not like making customs from something like a Breyer's. Ponies are like dolls and a lot easier to manipulate. (At least in the way of tools.)
@The Sims -- I love the original, but I bought 2 and I just couldn't get into it, not sure why. I also liked The Sims Online -- though I understand why it bombed.
I never did anything that funny with my people, but I did make replicas of my two favorite movie sets, which was a lot of fun.

I actually never played Sims 1. I'd played several of the game console versions before I decided to buy TS2, though.
Mostly, I play challenges, like the Legacy or Kingdom challenges. I had a steampunk hood that I spent a lot of time playing without a challenge in progress, but it died just last night. I guess it finally hit critical mass; I was on my twenty somethingth generation.
Yes, I know somethingth isn't a word. I shall use it anyway! *evil laugh*
