Hello, I think it's needless to say that I'm new. So being a gamer I sorta instantly found the arcade! I'm really happy about all the old school games that are their. Ummmm... I do have a Gaia online account (Charred_Relic). For the last few years I've been looking for some golden new site for me to join and this looks like it.
I like to rp, draw, and read. I'm interested in Japanese culture, anime, and games.
I want to start a web comic! But I'm waiting on some money that's owed me to come through. Then I can finally get a tablet to start.
Oh, and I love post-its!

Reason: incomplete thought
With your interests, I think you are going to fit right in. :) We have a lot of great threads on all those topics. And that is so cool about the webcomic. What kind of comic is it going to be? Daily life? Fantasy? Manga-inspired?
^^ Thank you so much. I don't think I'm going to run out of things to do!
For now I think that I'm going to make either a post apocalypse zombie type comic, or one revolving around a vampire hunter. I think they might have a manga type style, but blend it more with american comics.
lol Its just that you are doing a web comic about zombie type stuff..lol And I met a new member here yesterday who was writing a book about zombies.. and she had a friend who was going to be doing a web comic..lol >.< So maybe we are just getting more zombie fans in at the same time. :) None the less welcome to Mene and best of luck with all you do here. :)
>.< Ah, I was wondering about that. Hmmm... I guess everyone just ran out of new zombie things to keep them entertained and found meme. I should be getting my tablet around the beginning of next month so that way I can learn some computer graphics and then start it up.
I agree that zombies are awesome. XD My friends and I also have a story set in a post-apocalyptic zombie world.
There's no need to wait until you get a tablet to start though since tablets aren't some magic tool that make you good at art. Just draw on regular paper in the mean time. :) Or you could start working on the story first - you can't very well draw a comic without some plot developing.
I know that when I get a tablet I'm not going to transform into some sort of god. I'm a decent artist right now and I need motivation to advance me onto new levels. I've actually already started to plan out my characters and the first two panels I've written have been toyed around with for awhile now.
I just don't have a scanner, or even a decent camera to take pictures with. Which is why I've opted for the tablet. I'd love to see what kind of story you all have! Zombie lore is as interesting as sci-fi to me.
Ferra: Yeah, I actually started working on the first page. It's really nothing fancy now because I need a few reference pictures. I might actually see how I am with the tablet. If I see that it's going to take more than a few days to learn and get comfortable with I'm thinking of using black and white acrylic paint to start off with.
Using acrylic paints might give it a unique look. :3 Too bad you don't have a scanner, but it's usually pretty easy to find a cheap scanner these days, though they might not be the best quality.
Yeah. I'm going to start painting the figures soon to get a better idea for the comic. I think might buy a scanner second hand or see if they go on sale.
