I have TONS of pets, and want more. I was born in Alabama, but work for a hospital in New York from a completly different state.

Hi, welcome to Menewsha!
|
Hi there!! Welcome to Menewsha!!
|
Thanks!!
|
I was born in the south as well. Georgia to be specific. Only about 10 years before you were.
Anyhoo welcome to Mene, hope you enjoy your stay here and feel free to ask if you have any questions. <3 |
Hiya Jitter-Bug! Welcome to Menewsha!
I hope you like it here, I know that this is one of the better Avatar Communities out there... unlike that... OTHER community (inside joke with me, sorry). What kinds of pets do you have? You've peeked my curiosity. |
Welcome to Mene!
Does it bother you to travel so far just for work? o: |
I have 2 cats (Jasmine and Milo), 2 dogs (Jenna and Axel), a bunny (Sunny), a hamster (Wriley), a ball pythhon (Monty), a leopard gecko (Maxine), 5 regular hermit crabs (Genral, Sarge, Frankie, Knickers, and Luna), and a strawberry hermit crab(Bid Red). In all 14 pets.
I don't teavel to work, I work remotely from home so I get to wake up and walk in to another room in my house to start working. It's SO nice. |
Oh wow.. I'd love to see your snake. I would like a snake of my own.. but I've three ferrets.. I fear if they managed to get in the tank they'd eat it!! They're carnivores and apparently enjoy reptiles. xD
|
Monty the Python. THAT is just one awesome name! I'd love to have as many pets as you do, especially the cats and bunnies.
But I'm not allowed to have any more than my dog right now... |
Yeah, I can post a pic somewhere or send one to you or whatever if you like, He's not even a year old yet but will be in october. and I love ferrets, I can't have one becouse my mom doesn't like them, but I HAVE to go visit them everytime I visit the petstore.

@Kale: Nice pictures! I have a cat. My brother just moved in today with his cat. They don't get along because they are male and female D:
|
Jitter; I've also got a pic of a gecko there as well.. unfortunately she passed away shortly after I'd taken the picture. :(
Fluffy; Ah, thank you. They'll get along in time, you've gotta let them get used to each other. Though in actuality it'll take them quicker to like each other as male female rather than male male or female female because that's the natural order of things. ;) |
@Jitter: Awww >;o
Gotta love having connections. d: @Kale: So, I should not keep them separated? The girl keeps hissing, snarling, ears dropped, snorting lol... |
Don't keep them separated indefinitely. Let them get used to each others scents. Change rooms that you allow one in with the other and vice versa.
When you're home and there's people to watch them allow them out. They won't get used to each other otherwise. Just keep an eye and keep the tussles to a minimum. If they get into a fight grab each of them and force them to lie down next to each other and tower over them to show that you're the dominant one. They fight for dominance, nothing more. -nods- They'll get used to each other after a while and stop the fighting and hissing. Where you can correct the hissing by tapping them and diverting their attention (even spray them with water if you must) they'll stop soon enough. Works on dogs, works on cats. Works on dogs and cats together! |
@ Kale: Aww that's sad I used to have two geckos but one was doing SO bad that i had to give her away to one of the people that worked for the petstore who knew more of what to do than me.
@ Fluffy: It is nice to have connections, but not so nice when that connection happens to be your mom and also your boss. UGH!! Also one of my goo friend's nickname is Fluffy. |
Kale; I work full time and so does my brother. Won't have anyone watching them for 10 hours tomorrow. Should I separate them while I'm away? Complete with separate food dishes, litter box, etc.
@Jitter; Oh jeezum that sucks! Some companies don't allow family. |
I can't find any pics that I can do anything with but I'm going to make the one I found of him when he was little like in feb my profile pic.
|
If you don't leave them separate it shouldn't be too much of a problem they'd probably do their best to avoid each other. Though separate food dishes might be best at least, so as they don't get into a fight when they both go for food and get territorial over it. One litter box should be fine, but if you notice one going outside the litter box perhaps put a second one near the first so they learn each other's scent in that way as well.
|
@ Fluffy: well technically she isn't my boss but since we work together in the same place and My technical boss is the same title as her I just say she's my boss.
|
@Kale: Thank you so much! Very informative. :3
@Jitter; Lol, good point. Mothers are the boss anyhow! |
@ Fluffy: I completly agree.
