Welcome to Menewsha!
That's quite the list. Can't say you're not thorough, though! Do you have any pictures of your cats? I'm a huge cat lover. :) |
Hah that's the short list, and I have TONS of pictures of my cats, almost as many as I do of my daughter. Love taking pictures of all my animals. I'll have to get a few uploaded and post them, once I read the rules on posting pictures.
We have 4 kittys right now. 3 are special needs and Kira, our big sister kitty, pretty much runs the place. Our oldest is Cyclops, who is missing an eye and deaf, and has chinks in his ears and scars on his head. He's at least 14 years old and we have no idea where he came from, but he's ours now, and we treat him like a prince. It's a great retirement for an old battle cat like him. The twins are identical albino short hairs, Cain and Tyrael. They both have half a tail, but neither of their parents were Manx. They're also cross eyed. (they have the prettiest blue eyes!) One is scared of heights... the other is too stupid to know better. We have to watch them closely, as they fall off chairs and railings a lot, and run into things. You really wouldn't be able to tell them apart except for the personality and a knot on Tyrael's tail. He was attacked by a dog when he was 3 weeks old, and has a little brain damage from it. About 2 months ago, he was hit by a car and survived, but broke his right hind leg and pelvis. He'll always limp and has to have medication every day for the rest of his life, but he's a very happy trooper. And Kira is a solid gray short hair, and queen of the farm. She keeps all the other cats (who are all boys) in their place. Oh yeah, and she's my daughter's cat. Gwen, my girl, spent all her summer allowance and chore money to get her fixed and shots so she could keep her. Gwen's name is on the vet papers. She's very proud of it. Meep, I talk too much o.o This is Kira http://photo.missbimbo.com/2/623/gd/498208.jpg Tyrael http://photo.missbimbo.com/2/583/gd/466330.jpg Cain http://photo.missbimbo.com/2/586/gd/468359.jpg Cain and Tyrael http://photo.missbimbo.com/1/149/gd/118544.jpg Cyclops http://photo.missbimbo.com/2/586/gd/468375.jpg Hope those work, and I don't think I'm breaking any posting rules? Am I? |
Welcome to Mene :) You're better off talking too much, the more you put the more gold you get and the closer to some clothes you are. no spam mind you. ;)
|
I don't think I've ever spammed, I'm just overly opininated and very open.
And yeah, I saw that about the clothes money. Love how it's set up two, where you don't get anything for quoting other people. Keeps things very fair. :) |
Welcome to Menewsha!!
Quite a list! Your kitties are so cute!! I have three of my own and three ferrets.... I would love to have horses of my own.... Perhaps when I get rich. xD |
I like the gold system here, some don't because they think its too hard or something.
I never spammed, even when I was on Gaia, I never really saw the need in it. Kitties, I've got 5 and 2 horses. |
I would love to see your kittens, Jeanie! I want another, but we've got a baby cow to take care of right now, so not good timing.
We have 2 horses. One's an old lady set to pasture, she just watches the other animals and keeps me company while I'm working. Her name is Nanny. The other is Tink, my daughter got her at the start of summer for good grades, and because she's old enough to start riding. Really nice mare, a lot calmer then I expected her to be given her age, and she even gets along with Nanny. We also have a breeding pair of Yorkshire pigs and one 8 week old piglet that we're keeping. The other 5 piglets will be gone in 6 months. Just so we're clear, we breed them for meat. We have chickens and as I said, cows. 2 dairy cows and a new calf, whom we're also keeping. And 3 potbelly pigs.. but I can't stand the things.. they're like aggressive dogs and totally useless for farm work, but my husband likes them. He talked me into keeping them >.< Maybe I can put them in the fields next year to loosen the dirt before planting.. all they do is dig. I think that covers everyone. Oh, wait no! I have a brother too! He might as well be one of the animals, we work him like one, lol. He lives with us and does a lot of the heavy work during planting, and keeps tracks of the animals when I'm not well. I broke my hip 4 years ago and some mornings it hurts so much I can't move, so he's a huge help. And there I go again, talking to much! |
We have a little old lady who is mum to the other 4, she's called Cuddles, the oldest of the four are 2 from the same litter Angus (black and white, total gentleman so sweet) and Lady (no very much of a lady she's a tortoiseshell), then theres Squeaky he's completely black and my baby I think his voice box didn't fully develop or something because he's incapable of meowing or purring (he just sounds like he's breathing funny XD) and the baby is Taffy (ginger demon spawn, he's always mauling me when I try to give him snuggles but he runs to me whenever I shout him, until I try to snuggle him then he runs away). I have pictures of Taffy and Cuddles in one of my albums on my profile. Taffy had sticky out back legs when he was born but they've gone fine now, like springs if he goes on the shed roof he can catch a bird while its flying. :|
We have 2 horses, Tinkerbell and Princess, Tinkie is the oldest she's 22 (born same year as me) we got her when I was little and she's the one we learned to ride on but she's got lemanitus now and we're too big for her. Princess is about 14 and she was born on our place and I was one of the first people she saw ^_^ she was mine from then on. Now I'm talking too much. |
No you're not! I love hearing about other people's pets. And it's funny, cause my daughter's mare is named Tinkerbell too! She insisted, though I kind of wanted to call her Bunny, those ears never stop flicking. She's a 5 year old black Canadian, so still a little jumpy, but Gwen takes riding lessons with her twice a month, and every time they come home, Tink is always a little calmer then when they left. Oh yeah, and Tink is a plow horse, the breed makes for very good utility animals, so like Nanny before her, she'll be pulling in the fields next spring. Most of my critters are working animals.
Nanny is 19, and doing very well for her age, but she had a very hard life before we got her, so she's free to roam as she likes. I don't ride her anymore, but let my daughter and nieces and nephew ride her sometimes, when she's acting like she's pent up and need some exorcise. We got her from a horse rescue 6 years ago, she had been tied to a post under someone's deck and left to starve. No fenced in area for her to run around in, and the ground was all dirt. When she was found, she had already gone to ground and nearly died, but they nursed her back to health, and when we got her she was a very frightened animal. She's mellowed out a lot, and bonded with our cows and pigs (she steals apple cores from their slop) and she's gotten fat and lazy, but I think she's earned it. I got pictures but I think maybe I'll just stick everything in my profile like you have, LOL |
Aww, my Tinkerbell and Princess are both chestnuts, welsh ponies, Tinkie is uh section A I think my mum said and Princess is bigger (C or D I think) but Tinkie bullies her a bit. I almost ended up on my face in mud last week when I had to get them out of the field for the blacksmith to do their feet. I was taking Princess first because she's quicker, Tinkie was having none of it all she did was walk behind her and Princess ran I had to let go of her before she dragged me. they're in the field most of the time and Tinks getting a little over weight and getting a bit slow. :XD
I'd ride Princess but she's never been broken in, she's had most of it done just nobody on her back, I like lay over her once in the stable and she completely ignored me, my mum always says we have some thing because ever since she was little I'm always the first person she comes to and if she's inside she watches me and like whores my attention. She's nipped me a few times for not giving her my full attention and tried to steal my phone while I'm talking on it. She also like to nibble my pants while I try to muck out and she eats the shovel. I don't have any pictures on the computer though. Tinkie had a foal (Starlight, she was completely chestnut except for a white star in the middle of her forehead) once, we sold her to some people like 3 hours away and then the other year she ended up at the riding school down the road, the field she was in is connected to our field. She died earlier this year though, the woman that owns the riding school owns the land we have our horses on. |
We haven't had Tink long enough to figure out how she's going to be. She does love getting packed up to go to riding school, and never fights a saddle and harness, but doesn't like the blanket much. Her vet says it's just personality, there's no skin irritation, thankfully. And she's always very calm when being ridden. That's why we got her, we needed a horse that could deal with a 7 year old. Gwen gets really excited and likes leaning in and playing with Tink's mane.
We don't let the horses stay in when we're cleaning, so I have no idea how she would react to it. Our barn isn't very big, 4 stalls and the hay bin, enough to keep all the animals inside when it's really cold, so we need the room to clean. We'll find out in winter, though, when it's snowing and we have to clean with the horses in. That's gonna be fun. She doesn't spook very easy though, and no nipping or pushing so far, so everything seems well. Nanny on the other hand hates cell phones, and we can't take them in, the beep beep when I turn it on and off bugs her and she starts kicking in her stall. She gets a little jumpy around too many people, too, so when the kids ride her, it's one at a time. She bit once, when we first got her, and drew blood, but she was scared to death, so I never held it against her. She's not overly affectionate either.. just kind of.. there.. most of the time. That's why we give her so much room. Affection comes from the cows. Ronda, the youngest of the sisters, and Patsy, who just had a calf. They love being touched and hand fed and whenever we go out to do anything in the yard, they're right at the fence watching. I think they might believe they're horses.. we let them all into the same field in the winter, since they don't go out as long, and they stay clustered together, horse and cows, nibbling grass and nudging each other. It's really cute! Tink is a big horse, 1,100 lbs and 16 1/2 hands. Really strong too. I'm looking forward to seeing how she handles the plow. Nanny is small, I think she's somewhere around 800-900 lbs, but really tall at the shoulders, almost 16 hands, so she looks bigger then she really is. It's those long legs. We really considered getting something small, like an Arabian, for my daughter, but they don't do well in the mountains, it gets too cold for them :( Oh, and we've never had a foal. I don't know if I want to breed Tink, and Nanny isn't an option, so we might not ever have one. Might be fun to have a baby around though, I always enjoy the calfs, they're so much fun to play with! |
Tinkie's head is the same height as I am now (I'm just 5', I'm not good the the hands thing ), she never minded us riding her, actually when we first got her me and my brother rode her round the stables then later my mum found out she wasn't broken in but you couldn't tell she was really good. I fell off her once, mum scared her by accident and I fell right on my butt. Painful but I got back on her when I could feel again :XD. Princess didn't like it when we were on Tink in the field before she'd had the saddle on, she tried to pull my brother off Tinkie once. :XD
We had another one before Princess called Fudge but she bit me while I was stroking her once so my Dad got rid of her. You're getting close to having enough for an outfit. :) |
aww I'm sorry you fell off! Never had that happen, lol. Thank goodness! Is she as tall as you at the top of her shoulder or at the top of her head? If she's only 5 at the top of her head.. then yeah, she's a little thing, but you did say pony, right? I don't know why, I never could bring myself to get a pony. Had a really bad run in with one when I was little and, like dogs, they scare me a little now. The dog thing is why I don't like the potbelly pigs.. they're vicious >.<
|
My bum was numb for a while but nothing broken ^_^, top of her head she's a Welsh pony, she's tiny and bossy. If she doesn't like something she'll push you with her head. She gives the blacksmith some trouble because she had a bad experience with one, we were going to take her on the road so we wanted to get some shoes on her and the idiot stabbed her with a nail so the next guy after him (not like we were gonna let him near her again) she ended up in the back of his car and she ended up on the floor with another but this new one is good with her, he doesn't fight her if she starts pulling away he stops and lets her realise he isn't going to do anything while she's fighting, she's getting better with him every time she see him.
I've only had ponies, except one that was a harness racer, he came to us for his retirement. He died about 5 years ago day before one of my GCSEs. We have some videos of him winning stuff. ^_^ He was cool, HUGE but so sweet and gentle. My mum had to look after some girls pony before she met my Dad, the rescue place gave a 12 year old this pony and it had been abused really badly. It broke her leg and bit her and made her terrified of horses, it used to wait till it got out on the road then lie down and try to roll over her. Nobody but my mum could go near it because it bit mum and she bashed it one so it didn't go near her when she went in any more but everyone else was too scared of it to feed it. She reported the rescue place because they clearly weren't looking out for the horses best interest, giving it to a 12 year old for her first ever horse. :XD I'm talking way too much now. |
No you're not, I'm really enjoying the conversation, and would love to talk more, but I have to get off the computer, spent way too much time chatting and have a few last minute chores to do. I'll post again when I have time, hope to see you again soon! <3<3<3

I have to go to bed anyway, going away for the weekend though so won't be back till Monday.
