Shocking but, I'm new here.

Been a fan of Anime sense the 70s....man I'm old. Love all types from all types.
Went to Tokyo this summer and was amazed just how great it was.

Anyway, just saying Hi to everyone :)

Interesting topic title. :lol:
Welcome, Fuzzyratt! You'll find that we've got a large adult userbase, so hopefully you won't feel left out. After all, there's no such thing as "too old" for anything!
Except maybe diapers... and breastfeeding...

Was fantastic!!

Spent a week in Shinjuku at the Prince hotal about a block north of Shinjuku eki.
The people there was so nice and helpful. And some of the best dressed people for a city I have ever seen.

The streets were always clean. it was a good think I did learn a okay amount of Japanese before I went because almost 0 people I ran into spoke any english. But, even so I had no problems traveling around town on the subways/trains or ordering food. Even go sick for a day and a half, and getting medicine wasn't to hard either.

Spent to much on Anime and I had to get a portable DVD player while I was over there so I can watch them.

Best thing I have ever done for myself

Not a single english word to be found on them lol

Love it.

Got the following :Mobile suit Z gundam Vol 1,2, & 3, Slayers Rev. Vol 1, Cutey Honey, Dragonball Vol 1, Sailor Moon Vol 3, Gundam (not sure the name of this one to be honest) but it was a new release the week I was there. Tranzor Z. Plus a "Power Ranger" and the orginal Godzilla.

The DVD prices are super high over there. Basically 3800-9900 yen each is what I doing until I found a used book store. ($38-$99)

If you can ever go there Galfon, GO! you will love it. It's worth every yen I spent.

btw, the title was from three anime I love
Strawberry = Strawberry Panic
Burst = Burst Angels
Crisis = Bubblegum Crisis

Welcome! Wow! I'll bet it was nice over there. I've never been, but my family was right before I was born-I can actually say I was "Made in Japan" :lol:! Godzilla! I love Godzilla. One of these days I'm going to have all the movies.

I hope you stick around and have fun with us. It's a nice place here, with cool people and beautiful items.

Thank you Echo :)

I need to get them all myself still. :(

I only have 7 of them atm. I had more on VHS but, I sold them all off years ago when I started switching everything over to DVD

I think I'm going to like it here. Not many of my nearby friends are into anime no matter how many times I beat them over the head with it lol

Ack! You sold them! I take my old VHS tapes and record them onto DVD's when I get around to it every so often. Some of them have a block of some kind though and don't allow it to be done, so it's a toss up on which ones you can do that with. Also, when I catch them playing on a movie channel (without commercials), I DVR them and then record them onto DVD's. That's good enough for a lot of movies, but of course there are just some that I want the store bought DVD of them.

I honestly don't know a lot about anime, even though I'm on this site and Gaia. I should really check it out though. I'm pretty sure my son likes it to a degree. I could always ask him-if he wouldn't roll his eyes and look at me like I grew two heads :lol:!

I'm glad you're liking it here so far!

I wish now that I had kept them but, at the time I felt I would be buying those first before everything else.

Didn't work out that way at all. I still need about 5 just to be back to where I was before going to DVD. I just finished getting Slayers finished just a few months ago and that was one of my main Anime I wanted on DVD.

I was born in Japan. Left when I was only a few months old. I really want to go back. And I really should finish learning Japanese. Being trilingual would rock. XD

Very Very cool!

trilingual? so what all to you speak?

I'm still working on my japanese but, it is really hard to get it going without others that speak it around me. CDs only go so far. Where I live spanish would make more sense for me to learn but, I would love to learn Japanese and then be able to move there.

Hope you get to go there. :)
