You earn gold for chatting and we also have some games you can play. There are shops where you can buy some clothes once you get a little gold together. We also have a bunch of charities in the charity forum who like to help new players - just make sure you read their application requirements ;)

In some ways yes - the basic premise is the same.

Our rules are a little different form theirs, if you haven't had a chance to look at them I recommend checking them out when you can - the basic site operations is pretty much the same chat and earn gold and buy fun stuff ;).
