I saw a link to this site on Facebook, and I figured I’d give it a shot!

Since I’m told the more you type the more you make, I figured I’d give you guys a little intro to who I am. Maybe you could point me in the direction of a part of the site I might enjoy.

I’m an art student working toward my associate degree. I’m mainly a painter, and you might find it odd that even though I absolutely adore Anime and Manga I only tried drawing it myself for a period of about a month.
However, I do express my creativity through Cosplay. My most recent creation was a Sumomo (from Chobits) costume, including a giant pencil to scale. I love going to Conventions, and I wish I had the money to go to all that comes through New England.

My favorite Anime has to be L’Chevalier D’Eon, but what brought me into the fandom was Full Metal Alchemist, and it’ll always have a large spot in my heart.

I’m also a big fan of J-Rock, my collection ranging from The Pillows to Phantasmagoria, my absolute favorite being the band Bespa Kumamero.

Hmm... adore anime and manga? =) well... I'm quite sure you'll find everything from occasional viewers to otakus here =D

Well im also a HUGE anime/manga fan but i have never really been to a convention. I search everywere for a convention that i can go to but there never really is one. Oh and very nice to meet you Sakirose! i have also tried drawing manga and i still am working on it.

Jamird, that's a shame you've never been to a convention. A good resource for finding conventions near you is animecons.com, it has the most complete schedule of where and when conventions are being held.
As far as drawing Manga goes, I had no patience for it. I'm really a fine arts type of artist, and I wouldn't have it any other way. I have a lot of friends who draw Manga, or in the very least cartoons. When I did try my hand at it, I found that by starting with Chibi-style drawings I could focus more on simplifying to the point of most Anime-styles. So that may be a good place to start, teaching yourself to simplify before you work in real-world proportion. (Not that most Manga and Anime are drawn with any real-world proportion, but you catch my drift.)

Hi! I love conventions! I've only been to one but i absolutely loved it! I'm going to another this year as Matsumoto from Bleach. I love to draw manga and it's going to be my major once i reach college. @Selest - Oh how quickly the convention bug catches, no? I was the same way, within the first five minutes of my first Anime Boston I knew I was hooked. I haven't missed one since, and now I make a solid effort to get to everything within a 4 hour drive.
