Well, hey.

My name's Gidget. I've got a dark sense of humor, and I'm terrible with writing introductions, clearly. I enjoy writing fiction, though, and reading ficion, as well as reading about scientific discoveries, especially in psychology.

Picking one favorite book is VERY difficult. I enjoy the Pendragon series, as well as Lord of the Rings. Also, Christopher Moore wrote a book called "Lamb: the Gospel according to Biff." It's about the part of Jesus's life left out of the Bible. Complete speculation, of course, but still really fun and humorous. A few of my hard-core Christian friends even liked it. Then again, it never actually pokes fun at the religion. What's your favorite book?

It's between Interview with a vampire and Slayers. I really enjoy alot of sci fi and I just started the Pengdragon series I like so far. That Lamb book sounds really funny I might check it out

Christopher Moore also wrote a few humorous books about vampires.

Really? That sounds great I love vampires especailly when there being fun of. I know its strange thing to say

gidgetfaelynn 02-02-2010 02:20 AM

It really isn't weird to say. I mean, vampires as seen as these untouchable super beings. It's fun to mess around with them. I haven't read Twilight, but the idea of vampires sparkling when in the sun is funny. It just totally takes away from the belief that vampires are these strong, aggressive creatures. There's also a series about Vampirates that seems intriguing.

Vampires are realy awesome. What ever you do, do start reading the Twilight series. The first book was really good but after it went downhill. All of the characters are so emo its not even funny. I've of the vampirates series that seems to be interesting if they ever make a movie of that it should have Tom Cruse, Jonny Deep, and Brad Pitt that would make the ultimate fan girl movie

gidgetfaelynn 02-02-2010 02:42 AM

I'm not quite sure I want to jump into the Twilight series. I heard that the main character, Bella, isn't really developed, and is more like a romance novel for tween girls. I don't think I could get into that. I suppose it wouldn't hurt to try reading it, though.

Hydra 02-02-2010 02:48 AM

Yeah that's pretty much what ruined the series for me. I love strong female charaters and all she really did was cry over Edward all the time. It is a pretty much a teen girl romance.

gidgetfaelynn 02-02-2010 02:52 AM

I completely agree. Strong female characters are important in good literature today. It's okay if they cry a little, because it's normal emotions and it'll be easier for the reader to connect. However, they should learn from whatever tragic thing occurred in their life and be able to move on a better, stronger woman.

Hydra 02-02-2010 02:57 AM

Yeah I total agree, more characters should be like Ripley from Aliens or Loor from Pendragon, she's the one saving Pendragon mostly from what I've read so far

gidgetfaelynn 02-02-2010 02:59 AM

Loor is pretty neat. Later in the series, more female characters are introduced. And even though their personalities are cazy different, they are always strong in their own way. D.J. Machale did a wonderful job creating all of his characters.

Hydra 02-02-2010 03:05 AM

Yeah I've only finished the first book but all of the characters are really unique. I think the main character complains to much though but I think he'll get better
