So I've seen ads for this site multiple times but had never actually checked it out or joined.

And now I have.
I have tendency of not sticking around on a site too long unless I have someone to talk to or something to do actively.

So come talk to me so I won't get bored and drop this one too!
Any advice of gaining money and items would be greatly appreciated.
Do we get anything for posting? Or is it only from playing games?
I have so many questions and feel like such a noob >.<

Advice for gaining moneys...well, they tell me there's a sticky for it in here, but the easiest way I ever found was to just involve yourself in multiple conversations. The gold flows in that way. And the games aren't bad for a quick lump sum of cash, if you're good at them. Me, I suck, so I don't bother - it's all words for me. XD

We do get gold from posting, or I'd be outta luck on ever buying anything, so by all means, keep that up!

All that being said, welcome to Menewsha! :D

Thanks for the quick reply!

Yeah, I'll just end up popping into threads and posting alot probably.
How friendly are people on average around here? And what's the basic age group you see?
I'm just curious because I've been a regular to gaia for quite a few years and the age range, as well as the conversation levels are lowering in age by the month it seems.

On average? Very friendly. I can honestly say I've not really been involved in a nicer online community as a whole. People skew older here than on Gaia from what I've seen; most people I've talked to in past are at least in college, if not through it. And most are literate, which is a nice change from the usual online forum action I'm part of. I've never done any kind of formal survey of it though, and my view of ages here may be skewed by the topics I hang out in...but that's what I got. :3

@Byaggha:
Well that's all good news then :)
Those tend to be two of my main reasons for gravitating away from avatar based sites. (That and it's not very active so I get bored lol).

@Rusalka:
Thanks, it's nice to meet you :)

My interests really vary, there aren't many things I don't end up taking interest in lol
Obviously I like avatar based sites and chatting forums~

My only one that really sticks out it that I'm a body mod enthusiast :)

What are you're interests??

Body mods? Any specific type, like a specific piercing or tattoo type you're especially fond of? Or just mod in general?

I'm very much into Chat forums, Menewsha is the only one I haven't bored too much of. I'd like a few more things to do.. I was a bit spoiled when I was able to monitor the forums.. now I'm stuck in the habbit.

I also love anime, manga, writing, reading, roleplaying.. and many things on the creative side of life. I'm also picking up an interest in Asian BJD's and I'm going to be getting one in the next month or so.

I wouldn't mind a tattoo or two.. I just want to lose weight first.

----------

The only piercing I have is my ears.. and stays with that because I'm allergic to most metals unfortunately.

@Byaggha:
I like everything truthfully, although it's my dream to eventually get a corset done on my back.
Two of them technically, intersecting.

I currently have my septum, 16 earrings, the bottom 2 gauged (00-bottom, 10-second to bottom), and I have 2 intersecting orbitals in my right cartilage. I also have 2 tattoos and am in the process of getting more work done.

Hopefully one day I'll finish everything, but I doubt I will lol
I have far too many things that I want to get done~

Do you have any piercings/tats/mods?

@Rusalka:
Lol All of your interests I like, as I thought XD
I haven't been roleplaying as much lately. It's so hard to find decent ones it seems.
And are there any tattoos in particular you would want to get?

I'm also allergic to most metals, so buying body jewelry is hard for me. Thankfully i can wear 100% surgical steel again. I used to only be able to wear real gold and silver. Maybe I've just forced myself to become immune from wearing so much?? lol

Wow, that's a heck of a collection there. I don't have anything done, but I've had a fascination with body mod work since I was a kid. Did an art project on it years back; the teacher thought it was the coolest photo project anyone had turned in. Some friends and I went to a tattoing and piercing convention and came back with tons of awesome black and white shots. :3

Corsets don't take well to being permanent work, do they? I'd heard that since the skin moves so much there, and the piercings can't really be that deep, they tend to get forced out in about a month. Is that true?

I want a hummingbird for sure.. to seem like it's flying across the top of my shoulders.. More of a thing as a memory of my Aunt who acted as a second mother to me.. She passed away some years ago.. and her favorite bird was the hummingbird.

I'm most allergic to gold myself, in earings anyhow. I can wear gold jewelry that don't go through holes in my flesh. It burns me.. I can wear silver for a day.. but I can wear nickel free with no problem.

@Byaggha:
Haha, yeah I know. I'm quite proud of my collection this far.
And corsets (especially when on the back and legs) do tend to come out eventually, for most people. It really depends how well the piercing takes to your skin and how wel your body handles it. If it moves around to much or your body rejects it, it can come out in a matter of days.
I've also known people who have had them for 7 years though.

My body tends to hold piercings and ink well, so I'm hoping it will last me at least 5 years. Most people don't think it's worth it, but it's been a dream of mine to get it for years, so it's sort of personal goal now.

@Rusalka:
The hummingbird sounds really neat. I think it would really bring it out beautifully if you also added a flower or maybe a few wisps of wind behind it. But it's not my tattoo lol I just think a few tiny details like that could really bring out a tattoo like that.
One of my tattoos is on the back of my left shoulder/shoulder blade. It wasn't bad at all. They started to hit a nerve more towards the center of my back, so that wasn't fun, but other than that, a very easy to handle tattoo.

Personally I'm getting a chest piece drawn up (I still need to get the price estimate) in memory of my grandmother. She loved roses and doves. Plus she always supported me and my interests, including my whole "punk" phase lol
So I'm getting two doves on a bed of roses, with a skull in the middle. Out of the skull I want a blooming rose. Maybe not your traditional "RIP I love you" tattoo, but it really means alot~

and that's quite a strange allergy I must admit. I'm sorry you have to deal with all that hassle just for earrings.

Yeah the way I'm seeing it the tail really long and blowing out across to the other shoulder in a swirl of wind. Hm.. I've seen something similar to it I could see if I can find it again.. I lost the link in the wiping of my harddrive a couple months ago.

That sounds like a really cool tattoo though.. I have a thing for skulls and roses myself.. so that sounds wonderful!

I developed the allergy when one of my earings tore through my earlobe when I was younger.. I didn't realize it did that until after I took out the earing (didn't go all the way through) I think it developed because I got some of the metal in my blood stream.. and now my body won't allow further nickel in my body. :lol:

I couldn't find the one I was thinking of but something like (just in the way the tail flows):

When I was a kid I acted like myself, all weird.
Then puberty started and I did everything I could to fit in.

After a few years of getting tired of pretending and being goody goody, I finally learned and started being myself again.

Sadly though, I do have to try to fit in a bit.
Most jobs won't hire you when you have blue hair, tattoos, and piercings >.<
So I have to be able to clean up nice. (natural hair, not visible tats, ect)

Yeah, my job is pretty good about hair color. I have natural hair color but a friend of mine has purple. It's just retail though .. so it's a bit more lenient.

Really?
I've worked retail and they made me get rid of my blue hair-

I'm working foodservice now (sadly) and they won't let me do any "unnatural" hair colors and no "drastic" haircuts.
