As the title says, I joined a while ago, but I never really got around to doing anything on Mene. I've decided to come and give it a fair shake and really experience what its like to be a regular user of the Mene forums. So without further ado:
Hi. I'm scromlette. I'm 23/f. I've been on a lot of other sites, all by the same name. In fact... scromlette's my only name I used on any website. So essentially whenever you see a scromlette (Or a variation of it) you can safely assume it's me.
Uhm... I love animals, avatar sites, books and x-box. I'm in a stable relationship of just 5 years. I love the colors pink, purple and blue (especially when they are all put together). I have a fascination with socks. I love to buy socks and I have a decent collection so far.
I love movies/TV/music. My current favorite shows are Criminal Minds, House, Community, Glee, Fringe, Flashforward and V. The music I listen to most right now is Ke$ha, 3Oh!3, Lady Gaga, Jack Johnson, Jack's Mannequin, Dave Matthews Band and Placebo. My favorite movies are The Nightmare Before Christmas, Moulin Rouge, Boiler Room, The Boondock Saints, Suicide Kings and Big Fish.
On x-box I am kinda addicted to the Lego Games. I have all of them with the exception of Lego Jones and the Kingdom of The Crystal Skull, but I plan on getting that and Lego Harry Potter as soon as they come out. I tend to enjoy RPG's / Platforms and Misc. games the most (by Misc games I mean stuff like Katamari, Viva Pinata and similar games.) I really really liked playing Fable 2 and I'm soooo excited about Fable 3 coming out soon.
I don't have a favorite animal, but I most closely identify with felines. I love cats. They are pure souls. I have had: Cats, dogs, mice, frogs, bearded dragons, geckos and a bird (whom I did not like very much). I hope to one day own a hairless rat. My animals now are Charlie (black short haired domestic), Lily (medium haired domestic), and Karma (Calico, short haired). My dog is Chi (pronounced Kai) and he's a Shepard - Lab mix.
I'm out of school, but I do work. When I'm not working I split my time between here, Ernya, Maplestory, my BF and whatever current book I am reading <333
I also love reading, my favorite genre is Dystopian Fiction
(think Brave New Word or 1984), but I also like reading basically ANYTHING. Currently I am on a Young Adult Literature spree and have been gobbling these types of books up (Think House Of Night series, Uglies Series, basically anything by Scott Westerfeld, Melissa Marr or Alyson Noel + more.) I used to write a lot (both poems and stories) but I haven't in a VERRRRRY long time.
...WOW that was a long post. My fingers hurt Laughing
Umm so if there is anything else you wanna know, just ask?

Welcome (back) to Menewsha.
I read all of that and found it interesting and for some reason now I feel this strange urge to respond to you with a long description of myself as well. XD
Anyway, I'm around your age. I'm 24 years old and female as well. I also had a boyfriend for about the last 5 years (well, technically 4 and 1/2, but whatever), so I found all that funny that you're the same way.
I love pink and purple. Blue is nice as well, but pink and purple are my favorite colors. Except for some reason with avatars I keep making avatars that have green and pink in them. *uses current avatar as example* I can't seem to stop. It's a weird addiction.
I'm glad you're giving this place a fair shot. I've also joined a lot of avatar sites as well, but this one is my favorite. It has a lot of great people on it and features and the avatars on here are the most pretty of any site, honestly. I do have an Ernya account as well, but I mostly only go on it when there's nothing to do on here and Roliana. XD But you'll hardly find me on Roliana either really.
I'd love to see what the Lego games are like, but I've never played them or watch anyone play them yet and I really love Lady Gaga as well. Random fact about me . . . . Her 2009 VMA performance made me cry and feel emotional, but a lot of things make me cry and feel emotional, so that's not really anything new.
I also love television and reading a lot as well. XD And I'm reading a lot of young adult series right now as well. But mostly paranormal romance books and not House Of Night. I just couldn't get into it. I got through 100 pages and stopped. And I liked Melissa Marr's first book a whole lot, but by the second I actually lost interest. I haven't tried Alyson Noel yet, but I am planning to and I also am planning to try to Uglies Series too, but it's just one of those books on my giant list of books that I don't have the money yet to purchase.
I type a lot because I write and can go on and on in posts once people get me started. XD You seem to have opened the flood gate for me. I don't usually post posts that are this long.

Glad to know I helped you invoke your writing skills a bit there :D
I find it helpful to relay a lot of information in a single post, it tends to help open conversation. Like, If I had just posted "Hai I'm new!" You probably wouldn't have taken the time to write so much back, and then I would have just been another boring user.
I'm wondering, maybe you can tell me some of the books you have read lately/enjoyed a lot? I too have a large list of books! Thankfully I'm caught up on almost all of my series and therefore I have some time to save up. I also but books in bulk, usually about 10-15 at a time so I can kinda just read until I have enough money saved to re-up on them XD
It is kinda funny about our similarities! Congrats on your relationship! It really is a long time isn't it? I know it rarely seems like it though, because it can be so wonderful!
Also, the lego games are quite fun. A bit simplistic but very gratifying!
I've been trying to do different things with each of my avvies on each site. Generally they are a combo of pink/purple/blue or pink/white/black. But I'm kinda only working with what I have here for now. Eventually I'll get one I really enjoy. I like yours. I never really give much thought to it, but green does compliment pink well.
I think it's awesome you like to write. I used to, but it's been so long and I don't think I have too much patience for it anymore. I wish I could find some of my old college stuff. I'd love to post and share it sometime. XD

I can definitely appreciate simplistic games. They help me relax a lot. That's why I enjoy playing the games on here. I just played astroids, lol. Horrible graphics. Simple goal, but I still had fun anyway. XD
Anyway, yea, I agree. I actually usually have to encourage most new users to tell a little about themselves. I guess most of them don't care very much and are too eager to get posting on other parts of the site, but I like hanging around this section and actually getting to talk to new people regularly, so I like when they speak about themselves some.
I used to have no patience for writing, ironically but now I am completely different. XD I have all the patience in the world for it. LOL. So it comes pretty easy for me and I'm hoping to get better and better at it and maybe someday published.
Yea, I can totally relate to what you're saying about your avatar. I've been here awhile, but I still don't have nearly as many items as I wished I had. And yea, I love making outfits with different color combinations. And thanks. =) You are doing good so far for someone who hasn't been to the site for long.
Yea, sure, of course I don't mind telling you about some books I recently read that I really enjoyed.
One is the Darkest Powers Trilogy by Kelley Armstrong. The last book for the trilogy is coming out in three days. They are very well written. They live you on the edge of your seats, both because you don't know what's going to happen and they are a bit creepy (especially the first book.) The author has a degree in psychology and you can see her deep knowledge of exactly how the human mind works all throughout the books. There's no romance yet (although I think there will be in the last book, but I don't know.) It's just a paranormal story so far about a girl who sees ghosts, although there's much more to it than that, but I won't tell you anything else about it. It's good for the rest to be a surprise.
There's also these two books: "My Soul to Take" and "My Soul to Save" by Rachel Vincent. I am reading both. They are definitely paranormal romance and I like the second book even better than the first. It starts out a bit slow, but it's really worth it to read the whole thing. The novels are about a girl who is a banshee who let's out uncontrollable screams whenever she sees someone dying right in front of her (which seems to happen a lot.) I really love how she took the whole traditional idea we have of banshees and totally changed it around and made this very cool fantasy setting around it. I won't tell you more than this, but there's a lot more to the story.
Also, "Wake" by Lisa McMann, I really enjoyed. It's a very sweet love story about a girl who can't dream because instead, she lives in the dreams of people around her whenever they sleep. The dreams are really interesting, too, and I couldn't put the book down all the way through. You may not like it though. It's written in a very unique style. There are times and dates written before every new scene as if it's a giant diary (but it's not) and the language is really simplistic and straightforward. I'd recommend reading a few pages of it before you purchase it just in case, but personally, I found it to be easy and smooth to read.
Also, "Hush, Hush" by Becca Fitzpatrick. Honestly, I don't want to give away ANYTHING to do with this story, but I think it's very well written. It's full of mystery and suspence and romance. There's a whole lot of each one. I was literally on the edge of my seat trying to put the pieces together of the story as the main character struggled through the whole thing. It is well-written in my opinion and a best-seller for a reason.
Also, I personally enjoyed "Fallen" by Lauren Kate, but it was more romance than paranormal stuff. There really wasn't anything paranormal at all about the story until the very end, but I still enjoyed the romance and the characters and I'm really looking forward to when the next book comes out because I think there will be a lot more paranomal stuff in it. It reminded me of a slightly darker version of Twilight. It was more well-written than Twilight in my opinion, but the majority of the story was about the main character figuring out that her love interest is a ______________ and falling in love with him. You'll probably find out what he is just by reading the back cover or something, but I decided not to tell you just in case.

@Tiara;
You have some good taste in books! I have read The Darkest Powers Trilogy and I am quite fond of it! I can't wait to get the newest book and find out what's going to happen. I really like the series because it deals with more than just "Vampires" and other overly used character types. (Not that I dislike vampire books, I'm actually quite fond of some of them.)
I've read "Wake" and I have "Fade" which is close to the top of my reading list. Another good series, I might add. And it's funny I actually JUST finished "Fallen". I loved it, but I agree about how the story went. I'm glad it ended how it did because it made me want to read more, but I still wish we had a little more development earlier on in the book. I really like the idea of Fallen Angels here on earth, and I'm eager to see where else she goes with this. I am especially interested to see the mythology that she adds in and hear more of Daniel and Luce's backstory.
As for, "Hush, Hush", "My Soul to Take" and "My Soul to Save" I have not read these yet. I have seen "Hush, Hush" and I'm VERY interested in reading it. I think it will be my first purchase on my next trip to Barnes and Nobel. I will keep my eyes out for the other two as well XD
I'm kind of glad that gold earning is harder on here. As silly as it sounds, one of these reason I left Gaia was because I had TOO MUCH gold. I prefer challenges and being able to make a goal and work towards it, but I wasn't getting it anymore over there. I also like the fact that there is a gold to post ratio. It makes me want to add to the conversation and I've even been thinking about getting into role play a little bit!

I love t.v too =D and movies... And xbox... but I'm more of a shooter then a LEGO guy. RPGs are good though ^^
Readings always fun.
And Blue's a nice color. Purple's alright, and nothing against pink.
And... I knew a girl with a thing for socks before... Well I still know her we just don't talk... I don't see why there would be a fascination there though xD.

Okay, reading that entire post was just awesome and I couldn't help but friending you afterwards. XD I think that if you want to recommend books to me as well, I will definitely listen to your recommendations.
I know after reading what you wrote though that you will LOVE "Hush, Hush" for sure, so I'm glad you wrote that.
And haha, that's awesome. Most newbies are put off by the gold earning thing and complain about it in their newbie posts. You are definitely very unique.

EEEEP! I love socks! Especially weird toe socks. I just like the sensation of the fabric between my toes, it's so odd and delightful! i'll even wear my strappy thong type sandals right up until it snows and wear my weird tow socks with them just to show them off. My favorites are bright sky blue with little purple and pink frogs giving the peace sign to everyone all over them ^_^

Just like The Enchanted Tiara, I feel the need to introduce myself to you through writing a wall of text. XD
I'm [Fox Girl], or Lacy... or Fox and I'm 17 and currently in grade 12. I have a ton of nicknames. I've joined many sites but now I spend most of my time on Gaia. I joined Menewsha in 2007 but never got around to playing Menewsha until about... 4 days ago? I don't always use 'Fox Girl' as my screen name on sites I join, I can also go by my real name. On GaiaOnline my username is also [Fox Girl]! You can add me if you like (if you go on Gaia).
I love animals and avatar sites as well. I'm really artsy fartsy (XD) and I'm into any kind of art. I just think art pieces are beautiful creations! I specialize in CG (computer generated) art which includes a ton of things like: photo manipulation, CG illustration/painting/drawing and even 3D modelling and animation. I have a fascination with hoodies! I currently have about 35. x_x
I love music, but not so much T.V. or movies. My favourite movie would be Avatar though. The animation is simply amazing. As for music I'm more into hard rock/metal, screamo and alternative. I do like some electronic or gothic rock. My favourite bands at the moment are: 'Alesana' and 'I Am Ghost'. I don't really play very many video games. The one video game I was addicted to was 'Dark Cloud' for PS2. My dad got an xbox360 for free so I always watch him play Modern Warfare online.
My favourite animal is a wolf. I love dogs in general though (you're a cat person and I'm a dog person. P: ). I think the reason why I chose 'Fox Girl' over 'Wolf Girl' is because it's more feminine I think (another user pointed this out earlier today). I have a pet cat named Sylvester. I have a ton of hilarious stories about him. XD
Even though I'm in high school still (yay almost done) I do have a weekend job as well . I work in a family-owned deli across the city, so I take a bus, 2 trains and walk a little bit to get there. x_x Long ways away, I know, but I love it there.
I spend most of my time on the computer, either on Gaia, youtube, using Photoshop and now Menewsha.

@ Tiara;
XD Gladly accepted!!! Hopefully sometime soon, I'll get around to posting my 50 book challenge list. I did it last year and it was really fun. This year, I'm a little behind schedule, but no matter as I have plenty of time to catch up! Hopefully this way we can share some books! Earlier you said you were interested in reading the Uglies Series. I highly recommend it (well definitely the first three, the fourth one was so so but it had it's high points!). It seems like the series is written very simplistically, but actully I really liked what Westerfeld did with it. If you read a bit deeper into his story, you'll see a lot of societal messages. He really finds a way to get you thinking about some deeper issues while having a fun story to go with it.
And yeah... I'm not much for complaining about stuff like goal earning and such. I mean, meh so I'm a little naked. It's liberating actually, lol.
@ Black Swan;
Thanks!! And yay for finding another sock enthusiast! I just adore socks for some reason. Toe socks are the greatest, but I also really like knee highs, and thigh highs. And as long as they aren't just plain white, I'm happy!
@ Fox;
I used to use Gaia A LOT. Not so much right now, I think you can say I'm on Semi-Permanant hiatus. I mostly pop on now to check item releases and what not, but I'm sure I'll go back, I always do.
That's kind of funny that you joined but just started. I'm the same way. I opened this account a while ago, but just never got around to using it. I'm glad now that I am though, as I seem to be making some really nice friends XD
I think the art is cool. I do a little bit of Banner/button/icon making, but nothing to heavy. I'm kinda limited on my knowledge of these things and everything I know I have taught myself. Is going in to the graphic arts something you wish to do as a career?
Oh my, 35! That's a lot of hoodies! What are your favorite kinds? Do you have he fun ones that have ears on top and stuff? This guy I work with also collects hoodies, he says his collection is nearing 70! I hope he has a lot of closet space!
Oh and 2 really funny things - That user that pointed out the reasoning for your name being fox? That was me XD and second funny thing I too have cat named Sylvester!

OMG! That's awesome. LOL. I don't have an official list. I'm just trying to grab books and read 50 of them this year at least, but I'm doing the same thing. I've actually been using my blog on here to keep track of what books I've read this year so far. XD So it's funny that we're both doing that coincidentally. I'd love to see your list though.
And those books sound really interesting. I always appreciate when authors have some kind of depth and thought to add to a story. It's not necessary, but if they can sneak it in especially, it makes the book even more interesting and thought provoking.

I'm glad I started playing Menewsha too. Everyone here is so nice. :3
Graphic artist is what I want to be, yes. :3 On Gaia I have a graphics shop that's really successful and I have a 'gallery' with all of my work and improvements posted.
I don't really collect hoodies, I just like them and have some for every outfit I wear. P: Sadly, no I don't have a hoodie with ears. I really want one though! I can never find them. ]:

Or maybe just overeager. Desperate maybe? Eeep! I hope not to that last one. Also, I like to ramble, and prattle.... Allot. To much according to my husband. Oh well, at least on her eI seem to find at least a few people here and there that not only don't mind my prattling ways, but some even enjoy them. It freaking ROCKS! YAY! ^_^
