into my sophomore year of college as a music major. Violinist and singer!

Hello and welcome! Violinist and singer? So do you do both at once? I have a few family friends that do that but with the fiddle. I hope you enjoy your time here :-)

Oh, I wish I could do both at once. xD I'm not quite THAT talented!
Technically I am just a violin major, but I'm taking all of the same classes I'd be taking as a voice major, too. Paperwork-wise, though, I'm not a double major.
I'm pretty excited about this site. I'm sure I'll be sticking around for awhile! (: Especially around the roleplaying forum!

Yeah, I also came from Gaia. I'm just not a fan of the community over there. =/ So, yeah. I guess we've basically got the same opinion. xD

Haha, well the community here is much more warm and inviting (if you haven't seen so already :-D). Other than music, do you have any other interests/ hobbies? I'm a musician myself, though didn't go to school for it lol. I'm a pianist.

Wow, a pianist!! Exciting! How long have you been playing? I've always wanted to be able to play the piano. I took a piano class last semester and now I can play all of the major scales. Kind of. xD And I'm taking Class Piano II this upcoming fall semester, too.

Oh boy, other hobbies. I do a lot of recording. I have a beautiful USB microphone that I use to record my singing and throw it on youtube and stuff, and I'm in a great online vocal choir called Stella Voci. I also sew. (: I'm a cosplayer. I make costumes and take them to conventions and stuff!

Wow, you sound like a pretty busy person! That's really awesome about the online vocal choir, I've seen a few of those before. I see cosplayers here all the time. Never been to a convention as of yet- though worked near one of the largest lol (Sakura-Con). What characters do you usually like to cosplay? I am a little out of the loop when it comes to Anime, but I do know what a few are lol especially when it comes to video games :-p

I've been playing piano for almost 12 years now and am teaching it to two kids in my neighborhood whom are both doing beautifully.

Yeah, I am pretty busy. x_X I juggle a lot. On top of the ridiculous number of music classes I take (I take about 9-11 per semester), I do tons of roleplaying, sewing, and recording. xD Wow, I've always wanted to go to Sakura-Con. The biggest convention I've ever been to, though, is Otakon. I'm over on the East coast. :] Let's see, for costumes. I used to make mostly videogame costumes, but now it's a pretty big variety. I love making costumes for the characters that you don't see very often! My favorite costume is definitely my Peter Pan costume. xD I've been wearing it at AnimeBoston for the past three years. I'm a little bit Disney crazy, too. xD I've been planning a bunch of Disney costumes lately.

That's amazing! Good for you! I also do some private violin teaching, but that's it. My dad's a music teacher of 29 years and has been trying to get me to switch over to a Music Education major (I'm a Performance major right now), but I just don't think I could handle more than the one on one private teaching. xD I just don't like kids very much!

That's really cool about your costumes! We have a strange culture here that I call "cossies" they are practically cosplayers that do it 24/7... its quite creepy. Its like their life has been consumed by a character. Its fun to do it once in a while... but there are some people that take it a bit too seriously lol. There was one guy that was thought to be a terrorist on a bus I was on because he was dressed as a character from Naruto... poor kid lol.

Oh gosh, I know what you mean. x_X I'll do it once and awhile, but only for special occasions, like videogame releases and random photoshoots. But, otherwise, I keep my costumes inside my house and convention centers. xD I remember taking out my Ariel costume for a photoshoot and my photographer and I went to a nearby public beach. That was interesting!

Haha! I bet you had a lot of stares with that one. I used to go to renaissance fairs and dress up when I lived in Arizona but there isn't any large ones where I am now which sucks -.- Sounds like you have some pretty extravagant costumes! :-D

Oh yeah, definitely. Seeing peoples' reactions is always a bit of good fun, though. :] Yeah, we have one little Renaissance Fair nearby, but I've never actually been to it. I'd really love to go sometime, though, and put together a costume for that!

I wouldn't call my costumes extravagant. I'm really not very good at sewing. Truth is, my costumes look good from far away, but I don't like to let people get too close when I'm in them because my stitching looks terrible up close. xD

Haha, well screw the stitching. At least you have a great time with them :-D By the way, thanks for keeping the convo going, I get extremely bored sometimes and it keeps me entertained when people talk to me!

Haha, totally. I never once had a conversation on Gaia. No sense of community there at all. That's why I am here :-D And I don't get as bored here as I did on Gaia either.

That's a good sign! :] And so far, I'm already having a great time over here! Now I can be even more sure when I say that I'll probably be staying for awhile!
