I Cheated....
So yeah I cheated. I know that I should of introduced myself first but I really wanted some clothes so I played a bunch of games first. Well so here I am. Okay so where do I start.....well I'm 22 and I just graduated about a year ago and I am currently working as a auto technician for a small independently owned garage. I like to do a lot of stuff, play video games, watch movies, a lot of different stuff. I'm up for anything I guess. I'm also single and bored lol.
|
Aw, that's not cheating, just modesty xD A lot of people wait to post until they've got some clothes, I think it's kind of cute.
Sounds like you have a nice job! I wish I knew how to fix cars, even though I'm totally not one for getting all dirty. Is auto technician the PC term for "mechanic" now then? |
Lol, I don't think that counts as cheating, but that made me laugh xDD
I'm pretty new hear myself, joined like 3 years ago, and stopped coming on and just recently came back. Nice to meet you though c: |
Nice to meet both of you.
@jellysundae yes technician is the technical term for mechanic now because all the new cars are actually more computer than machinery. I prefer older cars myself. @[Dead.Angel] well i'm definitely glad that I could make you laugh!!! I think I'm pretty good at that. |
Kadensunstar: I remember when you used to start out in rags on gaia, now people get these huge outfit sets.
But anyway, how are you today? |
I good, getting ready to go to the pool with a few friends. How has your day been?
|
Prettty boring and uneventful nothing to really do
|
Hmm, you know I hadn't considered that with the cars, how boring :( I much prefer older cars myself (not that I can even drive!) Everything being computerised and made from plastic takes the soul out of a vehicle I think.
Wwhat made you sign up here then, kaden? Is it ok to shorten your name like that, or does that make you want to throw things at me <.< >.> |
@ jellysundae I couldn't agree more. Now we have to hook the car up to this diagnostic computer and read the code that the cars computer is sending out. It makes it easier to find the problem but not as fun. And yes it is perfectly find to shorten my name. Oh I was just searching avatar sites and stuff and this one looked kind of cool, so I thought I would give it a try. I did gaia a long long time ago.
@[Dead.Angel] Yeah I haven't done much it's really hot here. |
How long is a long, long time ago? I haven't been active on Gaia since I signed up here in April '07. I joined here and never looked back to be honest, I think it was the revelation of being about to post in the GD here without getting flamed by some snot-nosed 14 year old xD
|
I think I joined in '07 but I think it was like for a month. I don't even remember my username. lol
|
I was active on there for a couple of years, I joined January '05 if I remember rightly, but I hid in various guilds. Never ventured into the forums after getting burned the first few times! I went back in the last year or so to play on zOMG, that's quite fun, but I've definitely found my home here. I prefer the community feel of a smaller forum, Gaia's like some huge impersonal shopping mall or something.
Did you go to the pool? I haven't been swimming in forever, only got a small pool here because it's not a big town. Plus I can't afford leisure stuff as I don't have a job >< |
Yes I went to the pool. The apartment complex that I live in has a pool. I didn't stay long it's really hot out.
|
I wonder what you class as "really hot out", here's that's about 85 degrees, that's 29 celcius for you younguns xD.
|
It's about 97 degrees here with a heat index making it feel like 105. I live in the south (united states)
|
Yuk! I spent Memorial weekend in Orlando a couple of years ago, thought I was gonna die xD Both from how very horribly hot and humid it was outside, and how bloody freezing it was inside! Here in England "air conditioning" consists of opening the windows, and maybe putting a fan on  so I'm used to it being in the upper 20s indoors when it's hot, really couldn't deal with how cold everywhere felt indoors over there xD
Also, going constantly from hot and sticky to cold and back again didn't do my system much good, I was sick as a dog for 2 weeks after I got home >< It's hard to cope with a totally different climate! |
it's about 118 here... omgsh!!!! no end to the heat!
|
I hope you live in the desert, and not just an oven :gonk:
|
Welcome to Mene kaden! :D
I learned how to change my oil a month ago -- and I can change a tire -- but that's about all I know when it comes to cars. XD I should learn more about it though, so that when I take my car to the shop, I have a good idea if they're ripping me off or not. A good mechanic is hard to find! I do think I found a good shop now though (just had the timing belt and water pump replaced), so I'll be set for the future -- at least until I move. |
Nope... that's the states for ya! It' feels like the desert outside though. So many peoples are gonna go about getting all dehydrated if they go outside or get fat from staying inside in the air conditioning. ugh... >..< oh woe are those whom have to stay out in this dreaded weather all day.
|
@Sizzla those are actually really good things to know how to do on your own. It saves you money. A good mechanic is definitely hard to find and it's sad that even now a lot of shops will rip off female customers. I shake my fist at a lot of my male counterparts....
@kashira yeesh!!! that's way too hot!!! @jellysundae changes in the weather always give me a cold as well. I usually get a cold when summer dramatically changes to winter lol |
i did the same thing but instead of clothes i just needed a jacket labcoat seems good enough for a jacket right?

I have to say, my first oil-changing experience wasn't all that great. But I think I could definitely have a repeat performance without fucking things up too much. Last time I didn't expect the gush of oil, and didn't get my oil pan to the drain fast enough. By the time I was done, there was dirty oil all over the cardboard I'd put down to lay on. T_T I do have the concern that I'll get ripped off by mechanics just because I'm a girl. But when they gave me the quote for the timing belt/water pump, I did some research and found that it was a good, reasonable estimate (just under $500). They also changed my oil for me for free, which I looked upon favorably. XD |
I used to watch my ex change the oil in his car, he didn't exactly do it properly though, his method being to whack a screwdriver through the oil filter with a hammer so he could remove it xD

welcome to menewsha!
