I dont mind ** as long as one is not roleplaying. I just feel it cheapens your writing when you use them and what not. Just saying...^^

i use them alot because i do alot of just conversation writing, using asterix for actions because we don't feel like writing it full ouy until later. okay.. and its a really long story and we want to do all that editing stuff later cause we're lazy and got tired of writing full paragraphs while we wanted to move on with the story. XD
