well it depends on how much you like to post mr. president. If your a posting fiend then the forums will earn you more but if not then yes games pretty much will earn you gold

take a look a through the newbie starter guide. Under the gold section it explains some ways that you can gain gold as well as possibilities that will result in negative gold.

Hiya Castiel-for-President, nice to meet you and welcome to Menewsha! There are several ways to end up in the negative. One is writing a ton in a post and then deleting it. Another way is to have your threads or posts merged by us staff. That only usually happens if either you request we do something like that, or if you are creating a ton of identical threads and we merge them for you if they are in a forum where that is against the rules. I'm going to look into this for you as I don't see you having done any of this stuff. I'll get back to you when I know more:) Don't worry, we're not a grouchy site and will make things "all better" :)
