Welcome to Menewsha Terisa! :XD How are things going so far? Looks like you've learned a bit about the site already, so that's cool. :D

Yeah, gaming and posting are really the best ways to make money honestly. You can earn up to 500g per day playing games on your main and mule accounts, and then just post as much as you can! :D Just be sure you don't spam or bump or anything like that -- that's against the rules.

Hi, Terisa! I think one of the best ways to make gold through posting is to get in a few active conversations. If you look through Menewsha Nation, there's lots of hangout threads where you can chat people up. Quests is good for that, too. Once you get into a few active conversations, you'll have plenty of gold in no time! :)

"Still trying to get a catchy thread or to be in one that's popular is not one of my strong points but I will try none the less. The games are fun but from the little picture for the games, I see a bloops style game. I'm better at shooting the ball to match the same one up top better than other style of games." Smiles.

"I thank you kindly; both of you, for also showing and telling me how to make gold on here."

Hello and welcome to Menewsha, Terisa! :)

There are many hangouts around, I'm sure you'll be able to find one which suits you eventually.
Other than Menewsha Nation, you may also want to try out some threads in the Charity and Quest forums. There are a number of active threads there too, and most people would be more than willing to engage with you in a conversation.

If you have any further questions about this place, don't hesitate to ask! :D

"Thank you kindly Iroase. It's a bit of a shocker to see people actually welcoming people who are new to the site. Not many out there are that nice."

No problem at all!

Personally, in several other avatar sites I have been in, they generally welcome you, although I think it also depends on how you introduce yourself. A well typed up introduction would usually generate more response as compared to a "hello" or "hey I'm new". That, or I've just been really lucky to have joined those places when there were active greeters. xD

"Most of the sites I go to are quiet when welcoming new players. The forums to introduce yourself in, usually have new threads of people saying hello with a better introduction than myself and yet, you barely see people welcoming them."

"I see more of older players making threads to say welcome, especially on Gaia. Or you see new players skip it and head straight to the charity threads to score something from older players. Mostly people who do this are not new players but claim they are to get something of worth from people mostly helping out new players to the site."

There was a quiet period here on Mene once, back when activity level was a little low and most people were busy with school and work, so I understand what you mean.

Yes, that. That is exactly why barely anybody takes welcoming people in Gaia seriously anymore, because more often than not, it's not an actual new member for the reasons you've stated, and many of the real newbies get the brunt of the unfortunate outcome, resulting in trolling, amongst other things in their threads.
That is also why I prefer smaller communities like Menewsha, where a newbie IS a newbie, and older members have more sense not to do things like that. And here on Mene, the moderators catches those who try that method to gain free items and gold here pretty quickly, so it's not much of a problem. :)

"I saw that. Most of the threads I've been to, atleast one moderator had posted in it. Here I see more action from them than Gaia. It's nice to see moderators on and about the site. Tells me they care about it."

"Gaia's moderators are so caught up in fish tanks that... that's where they only post is in the fish threads. I will admit one time I did have a moderator answer me back about something but most of the times, trying to get in contact with one is very unlikely."

That's good to hear. ^^

The sheer size of Gaia's community itself makes it very difficult to be able to contact a mod face-to-face. And the moderators there do not exactly have a good reputation nor is it easy for them to post in the forums, as they would just receive an onslaught of "Look at meh!!!" kind of posts more often than not. It's no wonder they'd rather not most of the time. :/

"Instead of making so many forums of just BS, they could shorten down their size of forums to a bare minimum. Get rid of the MTV and the Twilight forums. Posting in atleast a few threads once in a while tells me they still are alive. I honestly haven't seen nor heard from a Moderator on Gaia in over 2 years. I see their posts but that's after it's been there for a few days to weeks."

"I don't know how the Mods can handle it. With so much of the pervertedness on it and people sending reports to them about it... If I was them, I would really quit my position of a Mod there FAST!"

I say. @[email protected]

And as it is, they do not have the sufficient number of mods to fully moderate the whole forum.

Wait, wait. There's a forum specially for Twilight now? Oh, boy. x_x
I think it's a good enough thing that there are signs of them actually posting in the forums than not at all, personally.

"I do remember seeing one for it..." Thinks.

"They just did a Pet Bundle pack and I must say, I'm not going to spend my money on that. Maybe for the EI's but not on pets that are so small and lack any real customization with your avatar there."

Lol, I remember that forum.
xD;
There's just too many places to do crap. Like post porn or flames and stuff. It's ridiculous.

/noms on bun

I'm pretty sure there has been MINIMAL common releases since I've left. The first page of common stores still have items that were released while I was active.
