It's not hard to earn gold here. And there are plenty of clothing items that are relatively cheap. :yes:
It's more of an accomplished feeling when you earn these things.

I think the purpose behind making you start with nothing is that you are forced to interact with Menewshans and get to know the community. That's probably the same reason posting is worth more than playing the games. WHile we certainly have them, it's hard to be a hobbit here. ^-^
