To equip items, click on the "Inventory" tab. :)

Then from there click on any items you have to equip them.

If they have multiple poses, a little display of them will appear, and you click the one, ones that you want to put on.

You click on 'Inventory' on the blue task bar at the top of the page. Then click on an item in your inventory to apply it to your avatar. Some items are packs which have multiple either styles, colors or items period. In those cases you will be shown the choices you can make when you click on the pack.
I hope this is understandable, I am not the best at explaining things sometimes.
