Hello, everyone! Call me Akrasiat.

I'm here because Gaia Online is overwhelming and annoying and full of trolls, but I did enjoy the principle communicating via forum threads and representing myself via an avatar.

It's 6:39am and I've barely started on my lab report that's due today. I'm also in charge of making the program for my university's production of The Vagina Monologues and the newspaper ad and press release for it, which are all also due today. I guess I'll do that during my lunch hour, because I'm a slacker.

I read, I write, I participate in fandom and in social justice activism. I'm studying Microbiology (with minors in Studio Arts, Chemistry, and History and Philosophy of Science), but I consider myself to be a science major in the humanities closet, because nearly all of my interests outside of the classroom are focused on intersectionality and social, economic, and political issues and policies.

I may or may not be entirely serious about wasting my education by becoming a yoga instructor (I practice Hatha and Kundalini yoga) and moonlighting as a bartender when I graduate, because right now I'm a little burnt out from all the stuff I've been doing in the research lab I work in.

I'm friendly, I think. I haven't made any enemies that I know of, yet, so I must be doing something right.

wow you sound super busy, its okay i was always a procrastinator too as long as you get everything done on time, it doesn't matter when you do it ;D

i don't think it's a waste if you become something else as long as you were happy doin it and had some good experiences

I came here from Gaia too, about four years ago. There are plenty of cool and friendly people there, but unfortunately, as you pointed out, it also has its fair share of trolls.

You do sound to have a bit on your plate. Quite industrious. ;D Being young is about finding your place in life, so whatever you decide to do, here's hoping it makes you happy.

Just remember to do what you love and you'll never work a day in your life! </cliche> The Vagina Monologues is brilliant, I ran lights for it one year when I was still in college and had the time of my life!
