Guitar lesson went fine, I went through the bridge and chorus of Diary of Jane that I did for my school musical audition, reviewed Oh Star by Paramore, and the week after next (my instructor has to go to a wedding) I'll work on Always Running Out of Time by Motion City Soundtrack.
And I know. It's mainly because in the summer, I came every other day and would check out ten or twenty items in a day. So now that I'm back in school, it's ridiculous trying to remember what's due when. At least it's mostly books (and one CD-- yikes!) |
Good music choices. See I knew I liked you. ;)
That is a ton of books. You really do like to read. That's cool, so do I. I was trying to do the 50 book challenge this year. But I wasn't expecting to be so busy with work in the last few months, so I'm waaay behind on my reading. Oh well. I read when I can. I miss having a summer break. I can't believe Summer's over and I've done like nothing for it...well I did go on a cruise so I guess that counts. |
Whoot! I'm rather fond of my music choices too, though I listen to a ton of stuff. Mostly everything except rap and country... and even then, I can put up with it if it has a melody.
It is a ton of books, but I only actually get around to finishing a fraction of them. D: In fact, I think I'm only two stories into the Canterbury Tales, which I checked out in... the beginning of August, maybe? Summer break is useful, but unless you have amazing plans, it can get really old really quickly. Though I did do a lot of fun things (mostly either at the library or with library people). I skyped with the authors of Beautiful Creatures and met John Green! We got him to sign a stuffed squid. >w< |
A figure emerged from the shadows nearby--swimming through the air as if through water. Indeed, the man had a large, wispy fin in place of legs and was using it to propel himself. |
I listen to everything too, except for rap. I just can't do it. I do listen to country though, a lot more now after living in New Mexico and Oklahoma than I did.
I know what you mean about the books. I have a ton of books on my kindle. Far more than I probably will ever read It's like I"m collecting them. I just find interesting ones, buy it and then get distracted by another book. I kinda miss physical books, especially getting books from a library, but the kindle is much more convenient with all the traveling I do. And I used to feel the way you did about summer break, until I started working. The only breaks you get are weekends (if I even get those, cause sometimes I don't) and it just feels like contest work. Wears you down after a while. I'd give anything for a summer break. Unfortunately, I don't think I've heard of Beautiful Creatures. Is it good? I may have to look into it next. Why hello Mr....merman, ghost, person...I'm new here to Mene. So is Dissy here. It's nice to meet you. |

I never finished Beautiful Creatures, to be perfectly honest. We got free copies for a literacy camp at the library, but I simply never had time to get too far into it. .n.
Hurllurr, Mr. Phantom~ |
Nice, a Vet Tech would be a cool job. It doesn't surprise me that you'd want to do something with animals, considering how you were talking about wanting a farm earlier. And no I haven't said what I was going to school for yet. Operations and Project Management. If I decide to get out of the military I want to get a job doing airfield/airport management or cargo/ramp coordination type stuff. It's what I do now and I figure having a degree in management on top of the experience I have would look very appealing to potential employers.
Dissy, I looked up a summary for it and the book seems pretty interesting. I'll add it to my "To Read" list and give it a try later. I'm in the middle of reading a series right now, but I've got nothing I'm planning on reading after I'm done with it. |
Noice. If you want to build up your reading list, I'm usually a good help. It comes from years of my librarian pushing books onto me. .w.
|
I'll keep that in mind. Maybe we could start like a book club or something. It'd be nice to have someone to talk about books I've read with. Most of the people I know don't really read for pleasure so I don't really have that.
|
D: awws, I'm sorry. I have a whole group kind of sort of/more or less dedicated to that specific cause in real life (in all technicality, we're the teen advisory board at the library, but we pretty much just fangirl about books and attempt to get things done) but I'm pretty lone on the subject online. .n.
Um, my best suggestions are /anything/ written by John Green, Realm of Possibilities by David Levithan if you can read poetry-format, Dramarama by E. Lockhart may or may not be right for you, depending on your liking of theatre. Also, Shine by Lauren Myracle, if you like a good semi-mystery/slight sobfest. |
You're lucky. That is one of the biggest things I miss from high school; having a bunch of friends around. School kind of forces you to have a group of people to hang out with. Now that we're older and working all my friends are spread out all over the country. When I do get to hang out it's mostly with co workers and that's...well, meh. Luckily, that'll be changing soon once I move.

Well animals are definitely less complicated that humans.
|
That don't play mind games or try to hide their feelings. If you know how to read them, animals are an open book.
|
No they don't. You pretty much know what's going on with them. My dog of 14 years was amazing. I liked her better than people most days. My boyfriend and I are going to get a puppy when I move there. Not to replace my previous dog, of course, but still I miss the companionship of a pet...and I can't do cats, deathly allergic.
|
Yeah. I want to get a puppy too but it will be a bit. I wont get one until I have a place with a fenced yard.
