Newbie Intro and Questions.
Hi! ^^ I was on Gaia for several years, but everyone one knows why it's become less appealing lately, so because of that I'm looking for a nice Avatar forum site. I found a few options, but this site looks to have a nice community and the right kind of potential. Just wondering; Is it active here, and can I sell Art for the virtual currency here like I could on Gaia? I'd like to also Roleplay. And sorry, but just a few more questions.. Can I use BBC in my posts as decoration?, and finally are there Monthly Collectibles? Thanks Everyone. I'm hoping I can settle in here, and make friends. :) |

It's fairly active here. It can be sluggish at times. Certainly not busy bee place like gaia, but good enough in my general opinion. I guess a good example would be Gaia is sprinting ahead and we're just leisurely walking in the background. Yes you can sell art for virtual currency. You can find home in the Art Shops Forum Our Roleplay is our busiest forum yet and can be found here: Roleplay Forum You can use BBC coding to decorate your post (change color, size, font, etc) but we ask that you do not flob. And yes there are Monthly Collectibles! One is released on the 1st of the month and the second is released on the 15th of the month. You can purchase this current month over here at the Contribution Page or look for old ones via the Marketplace and the Exchange. And for easy access here's a list of our past Monthly Collectibles. It'd probably be a good idea to go to HERE and price your art, as the gold amount is very different here. |
Hiya! I used to be on Gaia too but I don't like it at all anymore. People there aren't as nice and the items cost so so so much.
Mene is much different. The people are awesome and caring and the items are actually attainable. |

Thanks everyone for replying. I've been busy with appointments and such, but I appreciate the responses. ^^ The most common reason for people leaving Gaia, is that it cares more about making money now than the comfort of its users, also the ads, they bother me. There are a few more reasons, but I don't want this to seem like a rant. xD I'll draw some new pictures and post some examples for pricing. Hopefully you all like them. Once I get my new Tablet PC, I'll be very eager to do art, I can't wait. [lurve] That's good to know, Falcon. So far this community is wonderful, and the few times I've watched the forum, it was active. So that's good too. |
[lol] I forgot Gaia even had ads. :) adblock is a beautiful thing.
Our forum is a lot slower than Gaia, but if you take all their bumps and spam away Gaia isn't that active either. It will please you to know Menewsha is run by a very nice guy. He wants Menewsha to grow, not turn into a money machine. |
I came from Gaia almost 4 years ago. :) And never left its a great site. And it stays fairly active not crazy like but pretty good. We have a great art community as well as a role play one. Two of the most active areas on the site to be honest. As for BBC code I believe using it for thread set up is ok but not as like a post layout because it generates gold for the same thing over and over. But you can format your posts and give color, size and so on just not like a bunch of image codes in every post.
