@Seridano

I WANNA BE A ADOPTED!
Username: wayxtoxdawn
Age: 22
Why do you want to adopt be adopted: I want to be adopted so that I can have a friend and someone to talk to or to turn to. :) I've never done this before and I want to break out of my shell and get to know someone! I want to be there when they need someone to talk to. :)
What are you looking for in a mentor: Someone who is upbeat and positive. Someone who is patient and that has an interest in art, anime, manga, books, video games (such as Kingdom Hearts, Star Ocean, Final Fantasy, etc.) Someone who is always up for a talk or needs someone to talk to when they feel down or need advice. :) I want someone who doesn't just look at the picture, but thinks deeply about what something portrays. Someone who likes pets/wildlife.
Fun Facts: I like to draw (sometimes), play tennis, play video games, read manga and watch anime or read books. I really love romance, horror, or suspense anime/manga. My favorite video game series is Kingdom Hearts. I like some vocaloid (just started to get into it.) I like to look at artwork, especially abstract works. I love the summer and spring seasons. A pet peeve of mine is someone who is too judgmental of others.(interests, hobbies, weird habits, pet peeves, what have you!)
Time Zone: I'm not good at time zones...I live in the south if the U.S. if that helps and am mostly on at night.

Seridano: wayxtoxdawn looks interested in being adopted...

Hey, wayxtoxdawn, do you have a favorite nickname? xtox? I'd like to be friends with you!

Do you want some clothes?

Anyway, I'm just learning how to play tennis now. Any advice?

xuvrette 05-04-2013 01:33 PM

I... don't play sports....

Xtox... that kinda reminds me of a detox. XD

twotickets 05-04-2013 01:49 PM

Hmm... maybe that is fitting? I dunno. Xtox is the drug that fixes us?

I don't really do sports, either. Or at least, I didn't until a few weeks ago.

I am heroically awful at them.

xuvrette 05-04-2013 01:57 PM

Currently, the only sport that I am interested in is swim.
Felt that that is the only sport that seem to move all the joints in average amount. And also in water, reduce the gravity pressure that hurts the joint.

Seridano 05-04-2013 02:12 PM

Thanks for the heads up, twotickets.

Dawn has been added to the newbie list.

twotickets 05-04-2013 02:44 PM

My pleasure. :-)

I know you'd have gotten there eventually.

Xuvrette-- I love to swim!

xuvrette 05-04-2013 03:02 PM

It is fun to swim, especially the floating part.
IF only we can breath in water too...

twotickets 05-04-2013 04:05 PM

That would be totally cool. :-)

xuvrette 05-04-2013 04:17 PM

In my dreams, I always can breath under water... T__T

ChibiFujoshi 05-04-2013 09:13 PM

@two I think we were talking of Bates Motel

Hmm, never had that nickname before xD You can call me Dawn or Way. c:

Sure, if you have some to spare. ;u;

As for tennis, just try to keep the racket horizontal with your body and bring it across your body and try not to slant the face up or down, just try to hold it tight and facing out. Just try to adjust to a flow you like, some people start with their racket a little back and then swing a bit up and across. Your racket should always be lined up with your waist and always step into hitting the ball, like if you are hitting the ball forehanded then you step with your left foot in and when you are hitting backhanded, you step with your right foot in. There are also two ways for backhands, one way is to use both of your hands and swing the racket up and across and a easier way is to use one hand with the racket and to swing up and across. It is easier using one hand because it looks and feels weird using two hands with a backhand, imo. :P

twotickets 05-05-2013 11:47 AM

XD Yeah, okay. Dawn it is, then. :-)

Okay, I'll find you something. I'm pretty new here myself, so I don't have a whole lot, but I'm sure I've got some options.

Good to know. Okay. I like the idea of adjusting it to myself; I haven't quite found a rhythm or something I'm comfortable with yet.

I agree about the one-handed backhand, though. I haven't tried it more than two or three times, but two hands feels wrong.

Seridano 05-07-2013 03:33 PM

Waiting on confirmation from one of our mentors. Should have you matched up soon, Dawn.
Apologies for the wait.

Hello Seri >.> -sneaks around thread-

Seridano 05-07-2013 04:46 PM

Ello there, DD.
/gives a cookie

dessertdesiert 05-07-2013 04:48 PM

Yay! CookiE! Hey Seri, how does a newbie age out from adoption? my newbie hasn't posted in over a month.

Seridano 05-07-2013 07:06 PM

A newbie graduates when they have over 300 posts, are over 3 months old, or when their mentor has decided that they are ready to go out into the big bad world. o.o

If you're having issues with your newbie being around / posting, we can chat about it via PM and figure something out.

xuvrette 05-07-2013 08:40 PM

... Wow! There actually is a graduating criteria? O_O
I certainly didn't read the whole first page. XD

Jedi and their padawans... :O

xuvrette 05-07-2013 09:12 PM

Ya know, I think this thread should have some sort of graduating party whenever a newbie graduated! We can celebrate~

Tam Lin 05-07-2013 09:45 PM

A graduation party could make a fun little hang-out, and help the newbie meet a bunch more people of done right. :)
