I like your fun facts o.o

Seridano 08-19-2013 10:30 PM

Time for Seri to update like mad. Apologies for the delays. I was at Gen Con and only just returned.
Expect things to be a bit slow this next week as I settle into my new job and start moving things into my new apartment (so, basically, more apologies).

Never know what to say about myself so I took advantage of the title.

Take your time Seridano.
No need apologize, at least not in my eyes.
Life comes first!
I hope moving in goes well for you and that your job is awesome~

The Wandering Poet 08-20-2013 04:49 PM

I believe "Go." is the shortest possible sentence.
As for elephants... I've encountered humans who can't jump either [lol]

And as for ducks... mythbusters discvoered they actually DO o.o
Quote:

A duck’s quack does not echo.

busted

When examined by an audio-expert, it was found that the echo was "swallowed" by the original quack, due to the very similar acoustic structure between the quack and the echo. Because of this, it may be difficult to tell where the quack ends and the echo begins.
[ninja] Hi don't mind me I like fun facts...

A Dreamers Wonderland 08-20-2013 06:26 PM

Nothing wrong with that.
I just copied and pasted them all.
And I am thinking with the sentence one they are going for the clear subject and a verb rule.
So you are technically right depending on what the definition of a "true" sentence is and that people know the subject is "you".

The Wandering Poet 08-20-2013 06:31 PM

Well the subject is connected to the person who is being spoken to, the verb is go.
So if I said "Go." to you it is assumed that you are the subject which should "go" in a sense.

Granted if I said "go" to an empty room then yes... the subject would be lacking [lol]
I would also be dragged off to a white padded room with nice men in white coats

A Dreamers Wonderland 08-20-2013 06:38 PM

I feel that would make 'you' the implied subject of a sentence consisting of simply 'Go'.
So all in all we need a definitive rule of what makes a sentence a real sentence.
Are implied subjects acceptable or does the subject need to be stated.
Does the thought need to be clear or open-ended...

Grammar and I never got along in school, probably because I complicated it too much and drove my teaches nuts.
So many loopholes and ways to twist up a definition.

The Wandering Poet 08-20-2013 07:24 PM

I noticed you overcomplicated it [rofl]

Personally as a poet I simply warp grammar to fit my needs [ninja]

A Dreamers Wonderland 08-20-2013 07:34 PM

What can I say, I like learning.
The more questions I have the more things I can discover.

I feel that is fitting.
Grammar and I just butt heads.

The Wandering Poet 08-20-2013 09:41 PM

That's a good mindset :) should always continue to learn to keep life interesting

A Dreamers Wonderland 08-20-2013 11:48 PM

Learning is what makes life interesting, hehe~
Can discover what you can and can do, the endless possibilities.
So I know I could never handle a repetitive carrier, would need something new and exciting.

The Wandering Poet 08-20-2013 11:51 PM

Oh I don't mind a repetitive career... that's basically what my career is all about [lol]

But I know that if I'm not constantly thinking and moving I get bored... so learning gives me something to think about :D

xuvrette 08-21-2013 12:05 AM

ooo... I like that fun fact. Poor chickens.

I respect you for that!

I get very bored, very quickly.
But that is what is great about learning, keeps you going and it is always interesting~

Decided to go with the nice one.

I'm looking to be a CAD Designer... many people consider it boring... I think it's a blast.

Plan to use that to keep my relationship interesting too... because me and her are from completely different "worlds"... hers being art and mine being more mathematical/design

Serika 08-21-2013 12:34 AM

My Grammar sucks too its alright xD

xuvrette 08-21-2013 04:00 AM

I love designs. I design a lot of things, it being realistic or unrealistic.
I am such a snob to consider other people's opinion about my passion and interest.

The Wandering Poet 08-21-2013 04:08 AM

Can meave share examples of what she creates?

xuvrette 08-21-2013 04:18 AM

Realistic ~ buildings, art, designs of jewelleries, furniture
Unrealistic ~ stories, characters, universe, science! Magic~!

It still is create and design cause it goes through thorough consideration~ 8D

I use to use CAD, when I was looking into Architecture for a profession.
The second I discovered I had to create the layout of the homes I was done xD
I like the outside more than the inside.

CAD is interesting.
Lots of things you can do in it!

That is cool I seem to be a mixture of both of those.
I like math but I also like art.

I feel as long as you are creating something it is a form of art.
Art isn't merely paintings, drawings, and things like that.
It can be a profession too like teaching because you create a learning environment xD

The Wandering Poet 08-22-2013 12:55 AM

Revit allows you to do indoors and outdoors. What architecture program were you learning?

xuvrette 08-22-2013 04:22 PM

I only know Autocad, 3D Max and Sketch Up~

According to a book I read... Anything that is done out of necessity to survive, can be classify as art. That is one interpretation that I like. It makes a lot of things art.
Culinary art. It is base on necessity to survive, FOOD, but food do not need to look sooooo pretty, smell sooooo nice or taste sooooo delicious. Food just need to be chewable and filling for survive function, otherwise, all other sensory experience are just additional add on. Nice to have, not necessary.
SO most of the not necessary things are classified as art.

Architecture is not just about inside though... It is about everything... which I hate the way they make it.

The Wandering Poet 08-22-2013 06:47 PM

Takes a bit more effort to make food "art" though... because if food does not look, taste, and smell at least appealing then it wont get eaten.

Haven't used 3D Max. I didn't like sketchup though... CATIA had like 5,000 buttons so dropping me down to like 20 really impairs my abilities lol
