Oh well thearch bishop of Canatbury said that some aspects of Sharia law should be adopted in the UK. In case you don't know, Sharia law is the islam? law that stones people to death, cuts off theives hands and forces women to weir those stupid viels over their faces in the presence of a man because she is inferior. Needless to say our government condemned him, The English Condemned him, the Church condemed him and even the people he was trying to help condem it. With the opinion that he's just made another firestorm of hatred against them that they really don't need. So everyone is calling for him to be de-robed. That's the basic jiist of it. And as An English Woman I am both enraged and insulted by the suggestion that we change our laws for such a law system. Sharia law has no place in the British legal system. And never will. |

I hope he's being de-robed. He doesn't think he's said anything wrong. But the way I see it is, an English woman went to islam world (No I don't do geography) and taught islam children. She gave them a teddy bear and told them to name it, they named it Muhamad. Apparently this means she could be executed! We barely got her back, and now they want to integrate that law in our country? It's outrageous! Not only for the degragation of women but for the restrictions of practically everything! I mean executed for a student naming a teddy bear Muhamad! Come on! They start introducing Islam law into our law and where does it end? I mean already our country bends over backwards to accomodate them. I mean we do have centres that will obey our law but as close to the sharia way as can be allowed. That I'm fine with. But forcing it into the legal system? The two laws conflict way too much and Sharia is far too repressive of the people. Forget de-robed. I want to send him to islam world and see what he makes of Sharia law then! But I must go for my shower and then calm down. I promise to be back tomorrow. **hugs** Nice meeting you. No no. I agree with you 100% pretty much. I heard about the Muhamad thing and I thought it was a little bit much :/ The woman was just trying to teach and bring knowledge. However she was in Islamic territory (I'm horrible at geography too xD) so she did have to respect their rules and rights. I guess you really have to look at both sides and decide. Im pretty neutral, but I do think execution was WAY over the limit.

And that's my point if she has to respect their laws then they have to respect ours. We shouldn't change our laws to theirs, they're not going to do us the same favour and Sharia law is one of those I do not believe will benefit any country. *shrugs*
I was so glad though when they brought her back over. I mean she didn't even name the teddy, the kids did. So in actual fact she'd broken no law at all. The teddy was named BY the kids AFTER a kid. Not after the Muhamad it's illegal to. And after all if it is illegal to name a teddy bear Muhamad, it should be illegal to name the kids Muhamad too! I suck at debating. I can't make it any clearer. There's a link to find your time zone and I don't know how I can make the times any clearer. People are either blatently ignorant and Selfish and lazy and like wasting my time or else they're far too stupid for words and I have yet to decide which it is as they rarely ever stick around to see why they've been rejected.

I understand how you feel sweetie I mean after all it is in the rules and it is posted right there in plain view and if they can't put that in then yeah I would reject them as well. but I think i would pm them since they don't stick around long enough to find out why they were rejected. if they can't do it the right way. too bad there isnt a way you can have it to where if it isnt added it wont post the application but give them an error that something is not right and to fix it. |

All the times on it are converted to GMT, with a chart at the bottom so EST is listed as GMT-5, but I'm sure you'll figure it out. Basically adopters are available to adopt again after a week as a general rule. I'll go into details on IM |
