I found my way here from GaiaOnline, and I think it looks interesting. Quite frankly, I'm intrigued by this idea that literacy and actual content are rewarded. No offense to Gaia, but if I read one more ED thread where 75% of the posts are written in chatspeak, purposefully or uncaringly misspelled, or amount to "yah i think this is bad" I'm going to have to scream.

I'm looking forward to exploring this site more, and meeting new people. Although I'm very shy, so I'm not sure how that whole 'meeting people' thing will go. Anyway...

Be assured there is not as much chatspeak on menewsha there is a bit but it is very minuium. Don't worry about being shy the people here are amazing and they will get to know you before you have to worry about it trust me it was like that when I got on here^^;; Anyways have fun and hope to see you around bye!!<3

Hey, welcome to mene. I suffered from the same thing as you. It's even worse in GD, as you probably know. I'm from Gaia too. I don't see much chatspeak here and a lot of people like not having to read extremely bad spelling X). We're all nice little menewsha..ins? err people and I hope you have fun on this site :).

I think I like the gold system here better - It may well be harder to earn, but at least I can't just spam the non-existent CB with one-word bumps for a couple of days and have as much as the well-spoken person who actually reads threads and takes the time to respond thoughtfully!
