Currently in a state of close to utter confusion. It's like...strict around here! XD After almost four years of Gaia this place is...different. I won't be leaving there anytime soon, but Menewsha seems to have a rather strict anti-idiot policy so it'll be a refreshing change. xD I almost died laughing at the little test you have to take before being able to post in forums. Good stuff.

I agree that gold-granting is different from what people are used to, mostly referring to Gaia.
And yes, people do tend to go off a tangent.
However, I know many people who use one-liners and yet still make a decent amount of money.
Mostly due to the fact of their mass-posting, or power-posting.
But yeah, when you finish adjusting, I hope you'll find this site awesomely awesome like I did.

I'm sorry, but I believe that your current post style is in violation of the whatever rules Mene people made.
Since gold is granted on a character basis, having such an extravagant post style leads to unfair gold granting.

Gold granting like this isn't bad. I kinda wish browsing gave you gold, but since I possess the power of ontopic tangents, gold granting by post length kinda suits me. It always annoyed me on gaia when I'd post some longass rp post and get like... 1 gold from it. -_-

Thanks, guys. After looking around a bit more, it seems like a pretty close community, which is nice. Gaia always has so much crap going on, that getting a mod's attention is just a little bit difficult. So it's really nice to see official site peoples saying hello. 8D

And lol, yes, I am the type who reads the stickies. Several times. Before daring to post. And lives in a constant state of DID I MISS SOMETHING?! paranoia.

Yes - we try to encourage the close-knit feel whenever we can. XD We get a little too caught up during Events, though, so newbies who come in during events probably don't get quite as warm a welcome as other newbies... but it's one of the things we're working on improving. XD;

Getting a Mod's attention here is easy. XD We try to keep enough on staff that we can get to a problem shortly after it springs up. And staff is required to be active to keep their position. XD The Report Post feature (the ! at the top of each post) works just fine, PMs are perfectly welcome, and then there's the Information Desk. XD Plenty of ways to get a question answered or an issue dealt with. XD

I get paranoid too about making sure I'm following rules. XD; I still look them over, just so I don't accidentally tell a user the wrong thing. XD; I'm just happy to be Event Coordination staff rather than Moderation staff... I have to question myself less. XD

Also - LOL re: hair. Change the hair color to black and you can be the Ring girl. XD

During events, that's understandable. But I imagine if they look around for a while, they'll see staff in threads and stuff. I was poking around the artsy places and saw a couple.

And that's really nice to hear. xD Just wondering, since it's such a big issue on gaia, but is there a problem with hacking here? I'm curious as to whether a community with a higher average intelligence means less of that sort of crap. Although I suppose since this place is relatively small, it might not have broken out yet. Mmm... re: hacking... If you mean having people hack into your account and get your stuff, no! I can't say as I've ever heard of that. But if you mean hacking as in people trying to exploit Menewsha's security holes to cause trouble/make gold they're not entitled to... Unfortunately yes. :/ The hackers typically claim, when caught, that they're trying to do us a 'favor' by showing us where our holes are. Why they don't do it by sending gold to the coder with a note saying, "I got this gold through exploiting area xyz, just so you know!" - well... Y'know. :P

I think the average cost of a really nice item would be around 500 gold... That's halfway between, "cheap, but not very exciting" (around 150) and "really awesome, but holy crap I have to work so hard to get it" (1,000+). XD

When our monthly collectible items (Contribution Items or CIs) come out, they sell for around 350 gold each or typically 600 for the pair. :3 Not terribly difficult for someone really determined to be able to afford them simply by posting during the month (assuming they didn't want to simply purchase them with real world money, that is). My avatar's wearing three right now (the moon harp, the ice crown and the white headwings).

If by hacking you mean people's accounts being taken over and items going missing, I haven't heard of any. =S But maybe I'm just oblivious.

Hrm, the prices don't seem too bad... Since with my love of rambling, the gold granted through posting isn't too bad. Saw some items going for like 10k, though, and those scared me. xDD I'm not too fond of the pixel doll look, but some of the items on here are very original and pretty, like the harp. I plan on doing some art later on for goldzes, so that should help.

XD The items that go for 10k are generally what we refer to as "vanity items". As in, "Let me show off how rich I am!" (Or they may just really like the items... XD; And those who do usually get them 'used' or from raffles of one type or another. XD )

We try to keep inflation down here in Menewsha, so our prices are fairly stable. XD Except in past Contribution Items or Event Rares... those can fluctuate pretty wildly depending on if people suddenly develop a new interest in the items. XD I was probably one of the last people to buy a Slipper set (October '07) for under 650 gold! Now they're going for 1.5k each, if I recall correctly. @[email protected]; And I bought mine in November!

Stable prices are joy. Inflation is evil. Like it's always silly on Gaia how the staff are like, "Oh yeah, we're going to do this, which should help fix it!" but just ends up making it far worse. When it comes to mule rules, you can only have one mule in addition to your main account. The only reason you might ever have more than that is if you needed a shared account for a contest or something. So really, it's just one mule per person. :3
