okay my friend told me not to create my avi until I had some gold and could get some clothes cause I would freak out running around in my undies. so I have to create my avi before I can see the shops, or are they just down right now? and if that is the case if I create my avi can I get clothing somewhere? I don't want to be seen in my skivvies

You have to create an avatar first so you can see the male or female items in the shops. People run around naked all the time on here. Don't see why it's such a big deal.

Just like Secret said you need an avatar to see the shops. You really don't have to worry at all about being naked. Everyone starts out that way and I have yet to meet someone who judges people based on their avatars here.
People here are very friendly and welcoming, we all just enjoy each others company =D

Anyways you have enough gold to get something to at least cover yourself up right now.

Make it look fashionable or you can start out with the peasant thing thats i think like 30 gold. but i first started out with a cheep shirt so ya. no one really cares about the undies part. as long as you are wearing clothes (hope theres never a glitch like that like there was on gaia) then everything is all good ^_^. <3

We all started out half-naked, so I wouldn't see any issues for you to do the same Casper. ^^ I think the undies are pretty fashionable myself. :3
