Welcome! I don't know much about earning gold yet (I'm new too!) but I do know that there's an event going on at the moment that if you collect any orchids or buds you see around the site you can trade them in for items (that's how I got this skirt I'm wearing! ^_^ ).
So if you see any click on them! It's a nice way to get some clothes and feel a little less...ermmm...naked?
